LOL.. Hey this is the way are society has been for ever, acts of violence ok to see but acts of love in the physical nature is not.

Exploding Cerberus heads is all cool to show you jst get an M rating, but peeps freak out when you see a little boobie. I say if a sex scene is based on a healthy relationship why hide it,love is supposed to be a good msg.

ME 1 got already in trouble for this little sex scene. apparently everyone takes fox news serious.
i showed it to my father and even he was shaking his head in disagreement with the outcry about the sex in ME1. he asked him self why is this a problem when you dont even see anything, wile in movies you see naked people.
and my father doesnt even like games.

im fine if they can show a sex scene without showing anything as they did with part 1. but yes, seeing them in clothing/underwear is weird when they should be naked.

the funny thing is, there is a russian game called "the void". you see fully naked women in it. but not in a sexual way, more in a artistic way. and australia is also very picky to have nudity in games. but for some reason, "the void" was rated PG, with the description "mild nudity".
oooooooooooooook. you just see a fully naked woman there but ok. whatever.

Teen pregnancies rates would totally drop if Traynor had no undies in the shower.

Presumably because all the girls would go gay for her or something....  :wizard:

I don't know where you live, but sex ed has been pretty standard in the US starting about 6th grade for at least 30 years.

And the main thing theay teach is to use abstinance, which is not an option.

ACtually most of the world nudity is fine, and violence is not, its mainly just the US and Canada where this is backwards.

Yes, sex ed in the US may be standard, but it doesn't mean it's any good.

"Just don't have sex." Yeah, okay.

Yup.

Although they're a cool effect, the exploding heads are a little too much.

ME1 was fine with it's level of "violence," ME2 wasn't bad, cutscenes aside.

They obviously though it was KEWL in DAII and took their inspiration from there.

But to answer your first post about nudity where it makes sense - I would think that with the shower scene it would make perfect sense.

I would agree... I have seen or even heard of VERY few people taking showers with their clothes on.

That being said, I don't know why it had to be a shower scene.

ME1 handled "nudity" rather well, one or two glimpses aside.

ME2 didn't have it at all, really, but walked the line of sensuality and nudity very well, IMO.

I do too. But looking at it as a "responsible adult" instead of a gamer, I see where the arguments could come from. I certainly wouldn't want my son or daughter to see something like that until they were AT LEAST 14 or 15.

Its because people think showing every second of someone physically ripping another man's head off with extreme detail is less likely to have a negative effect than a very little bit of side-boob. Or, at least, that is what the idiots (aka "most of society") seem to believe since you see that level of excessive violence constantly at all hours of the day on TV but it needs to be at 3am in order for a show to have even the slightest bit of nudity. Somehow, extreme gore is more natural than the human body.

This!!! completly agree.  This way videogames/movies have to aproach the human body is a shame, make the body look like is something weird.

Then i think that it delete sexual charge from the scenes, as the OP says this is mature rated, if a kid play it its the parents irresponsability. If you see everythign in this cain of scenes it will make it more natural and immersive, instead of the artificial feeling it now gives.

And by everything i dont mean a porno of 30 minutes XD, just to make clear.

I would say, it's to show opportunity, even intimacy. And I would say, the scene does make sense in that kind of context.

If you want to see realistic nudity and it actually having a purpose in the story instead of just being there because it's nudity, go play The Witcher 2!

Wow, yesterday I had a little time to start Witcher 2. Right in the opening scenes I get a totally nude woman in bed next to me. I thought they would edit out whole frontal, but....nope,

It really was not porn or anything like usually the shoot from the hip poster say, even at the hint of skin. This Witcher scene came and went and felt pretty natural. I have to admire the whole seige stuff too, These people did their homework.

Not really related but...Over at another board I made a topic about using the Shadow Brokers terminal to tell some unseen stories on board the Normandy...you know in the form of audio logs. I used my Tali/Shepard romance as an example, and had them talking in bed, with rather innocent curiosity about each others bodies. I had Tali remarking on how unusual Shepard hands and feet were to her. Then I suggest later Shepard was touching her ear (Quraian ears are different than ours I believe). She asked him if he thought her ear was unusual to him too....Would you know, someone called that porn. Just hands and an ear, and its porn because they are in bed together.

I was just trying to say by using only text, how they could give the idea that Shepard and his romantic interest were together more than just with what we saw.. that there was an ongoing history, and many visits late at night to the captains quarters. I also tried to stress how this could tell other behind the scenes stuff, like the reporter (in my case) being pressured to get the story on the Shepard/Tali romance....And if she did get him to spill the beans, getitng some of the blow back, via e-mails about the uproar it was causing with the Quarians, now that it was out in the open. Imagine the emails between Tali and some of the higher ups over her romance outside of race. It would be fascinating. Just some big bang for a little technical effort IMO.

I'll say it here though, if they did use the Shadow brokers terminal to in writing play up some scenes we don't see between Shepard and their love interest, you could suggest nudity. Its not the same as actually seeing it, but with some clever wording it could also be pretty revealing on several levels.

If Marauder Shields was a topless Asari I would have paused and lowered my gun.  Ms. Shields would have blown me away.

……Best ending ever.…

See what removing nudity did to the game!

Yes, it does, but there are OTHER ways intimacy could be implied without nudity.

Interesting argument. Valid, I agree. Funny we've never heard it here before, though.

I would just like to point something out...

Humans - No nudity WHATSO-FREAKING-EVER!

Asari - Nude Liara Romance Scene

Deformed Asari/FUBAR Asari - GLOWY NIPPLES!

Robot: Cameltoe! (or would that just be it's vagnia since well... it doesn't wear clothes since you know... the whole synthetic thing)

You see the less and less human you get the more and more and more socially acceptable it is to throw in some nudity...

Seems like Bioware kinda took the cowardly road. If we're old enough for M-rated games, then we should be old enough for a little nudity now and then. Even something like they had in the first Dragon Age. Relationships seemed bland and boring in ME3. What a waste of time.

The only time anyone actually had a baby was in Origins and Morrigan and that didn't even require a romance. She just decided to put out.

So if they can have sex I don't see why nudity shouldn't be in already.
