Bwahaha.

Full Metal Jacket came out just before I went to boot camp.  I thought, "It couldn't possibly be that bad!   They're exaggerating!"

When I came back, I was all "Man.  Those pansies had it easy."

I wouldn't mind getting a selection, random pick of a number, or map-specific voice overs in addition to the one we already have. Good choices I'd like to suggest.

I want the Latin-American soccer announcer voice.  BioWare, do this now!

But then how would people know to go for the objective?

bit of a sidenote but it annoys me how the four devices things are always different, like the background actually matters.

You're seriously going to try and defend this? People would know they had an objective without being reminded 500 times. We aren't 90 year olds with alsheimers. Seriously dude.

Ummmm... no I don't think they were defending it. They were clearly being sarcastic.

During development we found groups responded better to objectives when we had the "assisting shuttle pilot." Without the continuous reminder, groups failed the objectives on a regular basis.

After all, some people are audial and some are visual. It is meant to keep the objectives clear, particularly to new players.

Fair enough, but does he have to be such a jerk about it? Couldn't he at least be sad and understanding instead of contemptuous if things go awry? Especially if everyone dies. He can mourn our loss later, but the "Bah! You failed, you poor excuses for minions!" tone of voice makes the ghost of my dead geth engineer want to slap him.

I personally would have loved for Gunnery Sgt. Hartman to do that radio voice. Then again no one would complete missions because they'd be laughing the whole time.

the guy is a troll. he can't tell you where enemies are...unless there is one left...like his radar only works if there is only 1. he can't find objectives that are close together, he has to send you first to one side of the map then another then right back 20 feet from where you did the first one.
he can tell you where to hack data, but he can't hack it himself.

But would that be for a completed wave, completed objective, or both?

I hate the extraction wave, he always says something but I can't quite catch it. And for the longest time I thought it was some other player trying to say something.

Some people have skin that is waaaaaay too thin if you're getting irked by a digital recording.

He is useful to keep players focused during those rounds. There have been numerous times where I would be bogged down with holding back enemies and then hear the radio guy's reminder, turn to glance at the objective, see that no one is going for it, and decide to head there myself. That light blue arrow just isn't enough of a visual cue to keep me focused on the objective.

A radio-muffled voice sometimes says "Nav Buoy" at the 45 second mark.  I always assumed this was a filler audio file that they forgot in the original build.  Or, it could be the shuttle pilot.

Frankly, there is a ton that they could do with the MP game to make it far more immersive and enjoyable.  Shuttle flyovers with strafing runs during hack objectives, making the "VIPs" be boss creatures/characters worth killing, different voice sets and squad interactions with the characters calling out enemy positions, like "watch your back!" when you are being followed, etc.  This would have to be optional/toggle-able for those who regularly play with mics, but the scripting for this must already exist to a degree since nearby characters coment on headshots and friendly fire.

I am utterly disappointed that the MP radio isnt voiced by the same man who did Admiral Hackett. MP would be 2 times as awesome with just the addition of his voice.

I want Harbinger's lines every now and then, instead of the encouragement by the comm guy, something pessimistic by Harbinger. Every now and then so it doesn't get tiring. Like when you capture an objective or kill a random "mini boss," something like "Kill one, and one hundred will take its place," like in ME2 SP.

Until those N7 operatives save galactic civilization twice, I don't think Hackett would directly oversee any of their missions.

1. Reave sound effect on loop.
2. My favorite internet thing is people complaining about people complaining. It's... complaining.
2a. Before someone gets cocky, complaining about people complaining about people complaining is NOT the same thing as complaining about people complaining. The latter requires hypocrisy. The former does not.

I was under the impression that he just left you behind if the timer expired.

It'd be awesome if the characters could make snappy remarks in the chatter though.

I would support snarky remarks by our characters!

"We are on our way already! Geezzz!"

"Why don't you come down here and do it yourself Cloaca?!?!"

Yes, it is the same thing.

That's like saying stealing from a thief is wrong but stealing from a thief who stole from a thief is ok.  Your line of logic doesn't follow.  In other words, it's retarded.

Saying something isn't derptastic doesn't make you any less of a derp.

- And does the Announcer have to do it out loud?
- Oh yes. Some people are auditory learners. Need to hear to think, simulate conversation to promote new ideas, maximize productivity.
- But he is talking about us dying!
