Just don't buy Kaidan any booze, he'll friendzone you. And then all Shepard will have is a dead BF that no one mourns not even herself and the lesbian parade.

Sorry if You feel bad becousemy post. Don't get me wrong, I even like Kaidan, but I can't accept, what BioWare done with ME2 romances. I moved on to Thane with all my Sheps but one ( she stayed "loyal" to Kaidan) and Im just angry with things I got in game.
-Im going to hospital visiting Thane and what I get?
-e.. Thane ? Im just passing by while Im in hospital FOR Kaidan, but I can waste a minute for one dialog line...
-Oh hey my dying boyfriend, nice that You will put the rest of yours life in danger becouse of my ex..anyway do You want to have sex in a front of hundred others ppl?
-You know Kaidan, I felt like a crap becouse I moved on, but don't worry, Thane was only placeholder in my bed untill ME3 coming..I even will not care when he will be wounded and I will not see him at the end of game, instead I will get Liara.
Eh..I know, that those who romanced Jacob have worse experience, so maybe I shouldn't complain, but still...

RGC...I really enjoyed your comments here. They are funny and sadly true. What bw did is, and always will be, very wrong, especially to their *existing* loyal fan base.

Thane isn't even listed as a character in ME3.

I remember how the game tried forcing me back with Kaiden after Thane's death and me suddenly wanting the option to commit suicide.

Devs not only tried to forcing FemShep to return to Kaidan. They also forced FemShep to felt guilty becouse of Thane. Don't know if You feel this same, but after  dialog with Kaidan, about so " called" cheating I felt really angry. Shepard can only lie to Kaidan about romance, or have two stupid options where she is saying how bad she is feeling about her another romance and how sorry she is about Kaidan. She try to explain with this " guilty" tone, like it was the worst thing she done. While male Shepard can tell Ashley that she was the one who left him on Horizon ( and at last he doesn't sound guilty about moving on with Miranda) it looks, like for BioWare female players havn't right to left Kaidan and just move on. Even only dialog with Thane is dominated by Kaidan.

To OP. Romance with Thane will not keep Kaidan away from You, don't worry. After Thane death, Kaidan still tried to return to my Shep. You have to work very hard just to avoid him. You have to be very rudy for him from the start of game. Looks like Kaidan is canon romance option for female players.

I did feel the same way too. I believe the reason behind it is because they killed two romances for femshep, Thane and Jacob. Meanwhile, you can't romance Garrus or Vega. So you are left with Kaiden and two lesbian options. So having femshep tell off Kaiden would be pointless because he is the only one you can go back too.

Which I think is completely unfair and an awful thing to do. Not everyone liked Kaiden or wanted their ME3 experience to be with Kaiden. For me, talking to Kaiden in ME1 was like watching paint dry. I found him dreadfully boring. But that is besides the point, I wanted a Thane romance and we all should have gotten that at least. There is no reason I can think of why we shouldn't have gotten a continuation on the romance, even if they killed him off in the end.

I hate how they suggested we were cheating. That was a bad message to send out to the female players, that we are nothing but a bunch of cheating wh*res and our relationship with Thane and Jacob was nothing more than an one night stand.

I'm going to quote Saren... "Female players need to learn their place". Bioware demands you to romance Kaiden.

Exactly that, regarding Kaidan!! He bored me to tears in ME1,lol; I recently-well, while waiting for ME3 to be released- made a Shep just to romance him and,two chats later, I am leaning towards romancing Liara because he is just so darn boring and I want to slap him, lol!:alien:

What also bugged me with ME3, though no personal experience-thankfully-since I killed Kaidan in ME1 is the fact he practically accuses Shepard of cheating on him with the ME2 romance and 'forgives' her!

Seriously?? I can see my Shepard put a bullet through his foot for this level of condescension and I would have expected an option to tell him off there in-game, at the very least, as many have said before!

Instead, we're forced to do one of the following:
a. go back to Kaidan
b. go same-sex romance
c.let Shepard be lonely and alone for the rest of the game!:?

Hey, sex in the waiting room is completely acceptable. The public won't mind, it's Thane and Shepard, they're hot.

Could have been in a broom closet though.

I also like to think Thane has a more private room without a lot of windows in another part of the hospital since he isn't that sick to be in the ICU.

Oh yeah, I feel ya. Kaiden can literally make me fall asleep. I kept him around because I love to make fun of him. My bro laughs everytime I call him "Jump Zero" and when he came back on horizon acting like a crybaby... well lets just say there was no love lost. However, funny thing about ME2, right after you meet with him on horizon, he sends a letter saying he is torn up about "our relationship" and he is going to go with this doctor chick.

UH... Kaiden.. didn't you cheat first? hm?

Anywhos, it was lame what they did in ME3. When he accused me of cheating, I was like "Uh no, I left you for Thane. Actually the only reason I hooked up with you because I wanted Thane to kick your a**... but now I see that isn't going to happen. So excuse me, while I go get my assassin... I'm going drag his green self back on the Normandy and figure out how to fix him".

But no, apparently I ended up with option C... be lonely... while two chicks try to hook up with me. Because that's how females cope with death, we hook up with other females. Makes complete sense. .___.

I like Kaidan, but like You I don't like "cheat" term. For me, they both moved on, there's no cheating. Not from Kaidan ( about his date with doctor) and not from Shepard. For Kaidan Shepard was dead. I think, it's normal, that he went on  a date, at last even marriage is over after partner's death. For my Shepard theirs meeting on Horizon means that they are over. I regret, that BioWare never gave players a chance to make response for VS letter. You know, they could create two standard mails, one where You cleary broke-up, and one with promise for continuation theirs relationship. Im not loyal or unloyal, my Shepard just moved on after Horizon, and she have nothing to apologize for.
Lack of interactions with Thane, and Kaidan's subject present everywhere is also the reason, why I dislike this whole situation. For me, Devs forgot, that not everyone is Kaidan's fan. First thing, that makes me less happy when I started my game first time, was dialog with Liara on Mars. I don't remember good this dialog, but Liara asked Shepard, about her strenght and determination in a fight. The answer I choosed was that Shepard have the reason for living and then I got " THIS" look from Kaidan...sorry I didn't mean You, Kaidan, while I played Thane's Shep. Then all dialogs on Normandy was dominated again by Kaidan. Second thing, that makes me really angry was my Shep dialog with Thane..why for God sake I can't tell him, that Im in hospital becouse of HIM, not Kaidan. And again in theirs dialog was too much of Alenko...There's more..all this " I forgive You cheating" things, lack of emotions after Thane was wounded in a fight vs Kai Leng, the lack of any care from my Shep friends after Thane's death, and even at the end of my Shepard's life I got Liara instead of him...BioWare really screwed up this....

I completely agree. After Shep being dead for two years, it would only make sense for Kaiden to move on and for her to move on as well. When I got hit with him accusing me of cheating, I got really defensive. The lack of dialogue options in that scene really threw me off. A simple line from Shep saying something like "Kaiden, I thought we moved on. I am sorry, but I'm with Thane now" would have done us all justice.

I agree, Kaiden dominated nearly everything in our romance with Thane. I was also thrown back by how Thane asks why you are there. Uh, dude.. you sent me a letter. You're my compainion, you're dying and I have come to be with you. I would think after being apart for 6 months that Shep would be happy to stll see him alive. She should have thrown her arms around him. I also thought it was little weird how Thane asks if she still wants to be with him. I don't know, for me, I believe if you get yourself involved with someone who is terminal... you don't play games. But once again, it was all about Kaiden.

In the beginnnig, I took the little notions from Kaiden as someone who may not have completely moved on. That I would eventually would have tell him that it's done between us at some point of the game. But now looking back and reading what you just said, I see it as well. That was not the case at all. Bioware made our choice for us, it was either you go with Kaiden or you end up alone.

I know it was quoted from Patrick Weeves that the writers "dropped the ball" and "that they didn't know". However so much time has passed for me that I am starting to feel that they knew actually what they were doing. They killed Thane off and the reason behind why no one mentions him after his death is because they didn't want the player hanging onto his death. After all, there was Kaiden still waiting for us and if they dwell on Thane's death... we probably miss the que to start the romance with Kaiden. I don't know if any of this makes sense. lol.

The inequality between Sheps bothers me too. Why does Sheploo get to defend himself with Ashley and I...well, I have to sound like some simpering tween, instead of the self-assured warrior angel that I am. WTF? And apparently, not sure myself, he even gets to defend himself on Horizon? Not to mention the inequality in romances available in ME3.

I think the didn't drop the ball so much as shoot it out of a cannon...at us.

Okay, I'm going to stop now before I offend to many people (sorry to those I have, honestly didn't mean to), but OP, don't worry, Kaidan will always want your Shepard, even if she doesn't want him. It's actually rather annoying and very immersion ruining for me. In RL the guy would have taken the hint after the Mars mission, but no, he has to keep hitting on a woman who's soulmate just DIED protecting her (my headcanon and I'm sticking to it!!!)

Thane!.... come back!..... :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

I so  understand your feelings...My Shepard got  dumped in front of her  team on Horizon (remember she  just got rezzed  by TIM and was  still 2 years ago in her head and heart...hello?), wich led  her to a  very deep and total "dislike"  of Kaidan.
When she tried to  forget  anything related to Alenko, she even  got  it rubbed once again with his ****ty whinny mail...So it  should  be useless to tell that, on Mass effect3,  she just snapped at him anytime she  crossed path and  if she could have saved the future IDA   robot,  she would have recruited her  just  for  beating the crap  out of this super bastard.
When she received the Thane mail she just  ran to the  hospital to see her  love: Thane. Not the  weakling  who got his head  smacked. She went there to see the man she wanted to stay with as long as she  could.
The drell who  survived  the  suicide mission with her (on ME2), who told her   all the time he have left is hers to take.
The Drell who said he would protect her against all odd  with every fiber of himself.
Who wrote her a  adieu letter  cause he cared  so deeply for her that he  wanted she  kept  a last  thing of him  in case  she  didn't  excaped   custody before he died.
Who tried even breathless and  weak to  help her and protect her, (well the  running on saber  move wasn't exactly what a normal Thane  would do... lets say he probly got a dizzy moment...) ...
SO, no,  she didn't  bothered to  go see Alenko after  having  her moment  with Thane. She just didn't care at all. She wasn't in the mood to see a moron after this.
So when she got the  counsilor hostage scene,  still  mad  at seeing her  Thane  stabbed in front her  eyes, and having to abandon him  alone   where he fell to run after some stupid  assassin brat,  she  just wasn't able to dwell  on  once again whinning Kaidan and she  just shot him: no time to  bother  and let the  other  big bastard   fly away.
My Sheppard were paragon  for everything else but  she had limits  too lol.
So even  in using the  IMPOSED  scenario elements, she  didn't  came back to Alenko the unfaithfull. No she could not. No nononono.
About the "oops  sorry we  forgot him..." I'm  not sure how the guys "forgot him"( hey  men, there is Thane  face  ALL OVER the  official advertissment on the web, on the  official  site are you   blind?...) Even my 11 years old niece  have come back with  better ways to  fix the  forgetting story. ..Seriously...

I would  love to see my  boss's WTF-face if I told a customer: "oops sorry I forgot a  part of your  order,  ok bye thanks come  back soon and don't forget the tip  I still  served you wink wink"Posted Image

I got carried  away again... here is why I dare not to  write anything these  days: the  obscure side of the force is  totally strong   with me since  Thane died...Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Thank you for encapsulating my rage at the whole situation. I can't do it without a truckfull of cursing. T_T

You know, I was one of the Thanemancers who said I was okay with him dying, if that was the way it had to be- emphasis on if (because him living would have been 200% more awesome). I kicked Kaidan off of my ship so I never had to deal with his 'you cheated on me' which probably would have been controller through my tv fodder. The whole situatio was poorly handled, but because Thane's not a BW waifu or popular enough, chances are they will never try to address it, fix it, or even say 'we're sorry'.

BioWare didn't just drop the ball, they doused it in kerosene, lit it up and threw it into a volcano.

Here we go...Cameron looking at the ME3 writing team about her character arc and Thane's character assassination..... She is going to make someone pay....

Cameron watching Kaidan walk away...she just has that, "Wait until ME3" look on her face. Awww...she went through that whole Kaidan scene with him acting like a jerk to her with Thane right there...and he still offers to protect him. Ok, yeah I know Thane wasn't supposed to be there but it just makes my hospital scene where he offers to protect Kaidan all the more facepalm worthy.

@saodade...feel free to get carried away with us anytime. What bw did was WRONG. We know it and they know it. Trust me when I say that we are NOT the most behaved fanbase on BSN. Yet, to date, we have yet to see any mod/dev support, much less a simple "hi". And yet even Ken & Gabby get more interaction than we do. Jessica even stopped by a Kasumi thread just to say Hi, I love Kasumi.

The more voices we have, the better, at least in my never humble opinion. So again, feel free to chime in anytime.

But I have to admit, I'm getting tired of the silence, and I aim to misbehave.

I think we all have felt the rage at one point or another. lol. But I must admit, I did a truck load of cussing for awhile. I remember how after I spoke to Thane for the first time and realizing that this was going in all the wrong places... I said to myself, "Yep, I need a drink". Which wasn't one of my brightest ideas... being tipsy and watching Kai Leng stab Thane. Yeah... that was a bad day indeed. lol.

I wanted to kick Kaiden off my ship, but I suppose I thought I would finally get the chance to tell him off. But no, that didn't happen either. He was still accusing me of being a cheater.

@mnomaha: It was sexism for sure, there is no way around it. The game itself is proof of that. I can't believe that they thought it was ok to treat their female fans like so and I'm sick of being a female player, playing a dude's game. It's 2012... guess what... chicks play games too.
