I just had an epiphany. Potentially.
Gold Standard Melee Sentinel Build: Take 5?
6 Blade Armor: Melee, Melee Returned, Damage Resistance
6 Dat Net: Incap?, Cooldown, Electric Field
6 Shockwave: Radius, Distance, Cooldown
0 Batarian Enforcer! (Hear me out)
6 Fitness: Melee, Melee, Melee
If you take a Hornet with a good ammo power, you really don't need to improve your weapon (as long as you hit your target, which admittedly can be a challenge without a Turian but def can work on another race as long as you don't ever zoom in with it). Plus you'll be at 200% and can take the cooldown reduction perks to make sure your powers stay relatively spammable even with Blade Armor on and maxed for DR. Spam them disruptive powers, melee at every opportunity, hornet for clean-up.
As soon as I get a reset card I'll try this out and return with some feedback lol. I'm so determined to make a Melee Sentinel work like a Melee Soldier does lol.
I've been trying Zenning's build for the soldier and been having a lot of fun, but I am still having difficulty finding a good strategy for the Sentinel.
I like the sound of this, I personally hate the hornet so I will try a different gun but I am going to give this a try tonight.
@Zenning, keep up the work with your awesome Batarian threads and discussions.
I am playing this build and surprisingly it is damn effective. If the shockwave made enemies stagger more often, then this would be an ideal build. I've had a lot of fun throwing my net at a group of 2-3 enemies, running towards them, heavy meleeing the guy next to the netted guy, light melee the other guy into oblivion for awesome Batarian effect, turn around and start shooting the netted guy. Shockwave anyone else in the vicinity then find cover for shields to recover, rinse, repeat.
Batarian Sentinel seems just as effective as a melee character as the soldier, maybe ballistic vs net means the Sentinel is better equipped for larger maps than the soldier. Oh and I did try the Hornet, as I am without the Hurricane, and I am impressed, the climb on that gun isn't as high as it used to be (I assume the latest update fixed that) and it is quite viable.
My Sentinel is still only level 15 so I will continue playing this build and see how it is with it's powers maxed, but it is promising, I might bring this guy up to Gold tomorrow.
