Why are there DA mods in here answering questions rather then people from the ME team?

1. Good one
They read enough posts to know what to do and are working hard on the DLC, which will be more than just clarification.
2. Bad one
They don't really care anymore, and just wanna finish their extended ending and be done with it.
With everything else that happend, I'd be pessimistic and say it's number 2.

I just want to say that until fans do something together, f. e. thread with civil questions to BW without ANY trollish attack and flame and keep it alive for a while, or "One day without flame against BW" or something like that, it's simply to hard to believe that reasonable normal fans have majority here now and that they are able to keep dialogue civil. Yes, it looks quite difficult, but sad true is, that trolls and flamers on both side are always most "loud and visible" representants of fans and right now too much people here acting like that.

Worst of all has been their bunker "We are right, you are wrong, we are bing attacked and you guys suck" mentality they have.
Meh, I don't really care. Only one thing matters for me. ME3 ending DLC. If it's awesome I'll think about buying their products again (after careful USER reviews, definitely wait about a month to two months before buying any of their products ever again). If not, to the bargain bin section for games $5 or so or simply not at all.
Sad to see a company I've supported since BG days fall so short. Heck, I still have BG series in its entirety (and modded) installed in my PC.

Well, Isichar, maybe biggest problems of your thread and other tread with similar message is, that it's only one reasonable voice (+ some, but unfortunatelly not all, in thread) between many. That mean nothing here where is hundreds, maybe thousands of people. Your honest thread can have civil name and reasonable content without hate and nasty jokes, but if it was in company of thread like "Bioware deserve die" (created three or four days before, 5 star labeled, change name after 4 pages) or Hold your wallet movement thread created third time after locking by mods, your thread suddenly looking meaningless.

The only issue i got with what your saying is there will ALWAYS be someone willing to flame, even under the threat of the banhammer. Ive seen the current mods flamed and they have a right to ban those who decide to make it personal, but otherwise they have participated in more then a couple civil conversations even with all the trolls.
I just dont know if what your saying is possible when there are people willing to look at a thousand people the same way just because 1 person looks bad.
Im torn on this issue, really am. Because Im weighing if bioware employees should put themselves in an position to get really badly flamed Vs the feeling fans get that bioware does not care enough to respond. Even if they do what i wanted and started responding to us on these forums I understand this could only make us look worse...

Sorry you feel that way. I dont entirely agree though. Bioware was put in a bad spot and theres nothing they can do that wont look bad to someone. I dont fault them for every decision they have made, I just dont believe some of the decisions were the right ones. The way I see how they react compared to the way they see it as is two very different things id imagine though.

I imagine the ME team have been told to work quietly. There isn't really anything they can say until the extended cut is released.

Because all the crazy trolls and enraged fans are on a witch hunt, so no matter how peaceful some of us may try to be in regards to figuring out why the ending is the way it is and want to express our disappointment civilly, the majority (Pro ending scolding them for ex cut or anti-ending scolding them for not changing the end in ex cut) will have pitchforks and torches.
I dunno about you, but if I was in their place, I'd hide too. The internet is a vicious beast.

Oh dont I know it. I dont entirely fault them for bunkering up, im just suggesting that more contact may help improve the relationship between fan and writer right now.

If I remember correctly, the DA guys were on a lot during the DA2 issues as well, even DGaider. They seemed to respond quite a bit and were always sensible. Seem to be a thoughtful bunch.
I think people forget they are different teams and have different thoughts regarding plot and lore...which kind of gives me hope for DA3 after ME3's ending. I'm just hoping. But I'm going in cautious and aware. I don't really preorder games in this decade anymore anyways. The last Bioware game I preordered was DA2, and the last Bioware game I bought on release day is ME3. I'm positive after all of this it will most likely stay that way.

You think EA will let them not make a terrible game at this point? Any company willing to make a title out of the Crack Baby Athletic Association has got to be pure evil.

Ok, I have to admit this flew right over my head.
South Park episode. Season 15, episode 5. Matt and Trey take some heavy shots at EA's business practices.
Ouch...lol, thanks for the clarification.
Saves me from speculating...

Seeing as it's free, I would not hold our breath that it's gonna be great.... I mean EA is their publisher..... if it costs time/effort/money they would defnitly charge us for it.

Yeah I get what you're saying. I think it'd be nice to have a few speak up and respond to the civilized non-rage crazy fans about what's going on.Isichar wrote...

I'd say it's a combo of 1 and 2. They probably try to read as much as they can on the forums, but probably get burnt out of seeing the same 5 comments. Which is a part of one. They know the fan frusturation and anger and all that. I honestly believe that they when they say they're listening, they really are listening.
But even though they're listening, they still aren't changing or adding new endings. That's #2. They'll try hard with the DLC, clarify things, add some cool scenes, but they aren't adding endings. Certainly not retconning them.
I don't know. I think the biggest reason many of the Devs aren't commenting on the forums is because they've already told us all they want to tell us. And that is: that they are listening, and as much as they appreciate us and love us and all that, they love their vision and their vision for their product and this franchise more. And they're asking us to hang in there because they think we will continue to too. Free DLC? Free Multiplayer? They want us to hang in there and that's why I think they're working hard to make a great DLC product. But it's still gotta lay in those lines of their artistry, their creativity.
When the rumors of post ME franchise came around (that whole Mass Shift thing) a lot of us got excited even though we knew the rumors most probably weren't real. Why? Because at least they gave us some damn answers! Haha. So I understand. To be honest I'd rather have spoiler-ridden commentary (about the DLC and the future of the franchise) spilled all over these forums by the Devs then wait till Summer and speculate and talk to Allan, and speculate with him (though he doesn't speculate much), continue speculating, etc, etc. Because at this point it's not inherently about the entertainment value anymore. It's about figuring out a drastic and bizarre story twist, one that's--and I'll be the first to admit--beautiful and poingant and philiosphical...but still--do'h!--not very well done. Not in the cinematic context that BW intended anyway.

More seriously, though - we can post without worrying about committing to anything, or inadvertently saying things we aren't supposed to about the ME series. I know slightly more about their plans than the people here, but only slightly - otherwise, I have my head in Dragon Age all day.
And, of course, I am a sucker for the community. I weathered the post-DA2 forum storm, living through Mangiraffedog. My skin is appropriately thick.

I just want to say that one of the best ways (by my opinion) how to push ME BW to start communicate again, is some friendly gesture, give them olive branch, something bigger than one lonely thread. Something, what show them, that not everyone here is crazy troll. From their side o view first step simply looks too dangerous and on fan's side isn't too much will to do it right now, only few threads like yours (I don't count threads DEMANDING answers to this) and lot of hate. I don't know exactly, what to do, but I honestly believe that first calm step in such conflict situation must do "angrier" side, because opposite side step should be viewed is sign of weakness and it will provokes trolls to new "self-righteous" flame.
But this is only my opinion, one of many here.

The main reason however is at this point the DLC is still in very early stages, and is subject to vast amount of changes, they don't want to talk about the aspects of the DLC until it's set in stone, and its going to be around a month or so until that starts happening.

I think if they tried to charge for it people would freak out even worse saying they are essentially "charging us for a broken game" but thats just a guess. The problem is if they dont put in a real effort then it will do very little to calm the people who are upset and may inrease the rage against them, in which case why bother making it in the first place??
