You are literally the worst person on these forums right now.

Sorry, to laugh at your expense John - but in hindsight, that whole debacle is quite hilarious to read about. As is your comment :D

Because the Dragon Age developers have always been more willing to engage with fans than the Mass Effect developers.

This probably began because the Dragon Age forums were open for years prior to the game shipping. It was a small group and the posters were mostly people who'd been on the BioWare forums for years. It was casual enough that developers didn't have to feel like they were always on the defensive.

When the ME forums opened up, it wasn't a pleasant place to be, so the developers never got into the habit of chatting with people.

I have a bottle of work scotch. Many of them, I imagine, do not.

More seriously, though - we can post without worrying about committing to anything, or inadvertently saying things we aren't supposed to about the ME series. I know slightly more about their plans than the people here, but only slightly - otherwise, I have my head in Dragon Age all day.

And, of course, I am a sucker for the community. I weathered the post-DA2 forum storm, living through Mangiraffedog. My skin is appropriately thick.

While this may be true, when I lurked in the Dragon Age 2 forums and read back a few pages I see you respond there quite a bit as does David Gaider, whereas no one on The Mass Effect 3 team has responded in these forums in about a month. Do you think it's because of the ending controversy, if the end hadn't been such a let-down do you think we would of seen more Mass Effect team members posting here?

It should be mandatory for forum moderators, and generally anyone interacting on internet forums to play any type of  Dota game, you need a thick skin in this type of profession.

You were significantly braver than I!  I paid my dues in Tech Support forums and then paid my psychiatrist even more! >.>

Note:  Not technically a mod of this forum! =]

@RaenImrahl and @John Epler

I just want to say it makes me happy that you guys are engaging in the discussions even just as fans.  I lol'd to your responses on the picture that was just posted.  Why can't the ME guys be more like you?  And please don't take that in a bad way.  I'm not saying their wrong, it would just... I don't know... make me feel better if we could feel as if we are talking to them not at them.  Anyway, ~hugs~ both of you.  Image IPB

Edit:  And Allen Shumacher!!  Glad you posted could not remember your last name, I'm new to most of this and am still learning names ~hugs~ you too Image IPB

Thank you for being willing to talk to us candidly, John. I know for myself (and for a lot of my fellow anti-enders) it has been very easy to slip into an Us vs. Bioware mentality after all the official statements which have been (perhaps inevitably) carefully guarded by PR and fairly vague/non-committal, and that mentality is the LAST thing I want to happen. Your open and honest communication with the fans, even though you aren't a member of the ME team, goes a long way in healing the relationship between Bioware and the community.

Even though I'm pretty new to these forums, I've always had a lot of respect for Bioware and how they have been able to build such a passionate following. I'm certainly still frustrated with the way Bioware has handled this whole situation, but it puts my mind at least a little bit at ease to be having open dialogue with people like you and Allan.

I'm pretty sure Casey Hudson is a failed robot. No one looks that much like Seth Mcfarlane without being a failed experiment.

All the more reason we should be able to talk with them. The longer they remain in silence from the fans the more the gap between those fans and those employees grow, they will only see what the loudest fans have to say, which is rarely posative :?

Thanks to this thread I went to check out Casey's Twitter account (which I used to monitor hourly before ME3 launch). Dear Lord, not a word from the Project Director about his game all this time? I mean, if we all accepted the endings they gave us, he propably would be like OPARATION HYDRA!! or NEW WEAPONS PACK etc. but with all this (justified) hate towards endings (which he talked about ONCE in some small interview week after game launch) there is like no way to go - he pretends all is well, he gets smacked. He admits failiure, he gets swamped. He took only possible option - synthe... I mean - vacation :)

Maybe hes just been working endlessly day and night to make the extended endings better and has no time to tweet?
One can only hope...

Or dare i say it...
