whatseover for the core issues that these weapons have.

This is pretty true.
A 10% buff on a weapon that does less than 50 damage per shot isn't going to do a lot against Armor that reduces damage by 50 per shot. The automatic ARs pretty much need to be buffed on the order of 50-100% or they may as well not exist on Gold.
The Avenger Assault Rifle does 48 damage per shot, at 500RPM.
The Predator Heavy Pistol does 73 damage per shot, at 500RPM.
...
Nothing more really needs to be said.

they're just bringing it more in line with the other weapons it most closely resembles-the Valiant and the Black Widow. Combined with the damage buff, it is now truly the 3 shot sniper it has always wanted to be!

It's ok, pistols aren't the only weapons types that secretly want to be sniper rifles. I mean, just look at the Grall and the Saber!

There are days when developers seem to have their derp helmets on. In regards to the Paladin changes, today was one of them. I don't think it needed ANY changes. It's DPS is already crazy enough and its weight and spare ammo never bothered me.Atheosis wrote...

How shocking it must be for you to realize I actually do care about weapon balance and not just about the game revolving around pistols. (Although that would be freaking awesome if true.

They were already awesome on Geth characters. Rifle is epic with distruptor ammo, AP/ammo mods, hunter mode, and overload spam. And I was using a pure powers increased geth, no weapon buffs at all.
