I was indifferent. I thought she looked like a trashy Jersey Shore chick, but she gave war assets and reputation bonuses... I wanted the super best ending so I thought she was worth it LOL

I didn't even know who Jessica Chobot was or any of this nerdhate until after I finished ME3 and came to BSN to nerdrage.

If I'd have known before going into this episode, that she was bought into the game from IGN, i'd try to find some way of shooting the character in the citadel.
Or blast her out an airlock......for real?

I didn't mind her as most do since I'm a PS3 player and we never got to know Emily but I don't love her either. She's a war asset to me, nothing more.

I really don't see why people bring this up. It's like they don't know most actresses put nude/sexy photos of themselves in their resumes. Like it or not, for women attempting to get into a televised or printed position, this is the norm. I don't fault her for that.

I do not however think she did an especially good job at voice acting Allers. She was adaquate in a game where adaquate doesn't cut it. When a game has Garrus, Tali, Shepard, Anderson, Hackett, and so many other amazingly voice acted characters, adaquate sticks out like a sore thumb.

Still, I never refuse to let her aboard my ship. I've made much, much, much harder decisions in the name of maximizing galactic effectiveness against the Reapers. I spared the Rachni queen, killed the heretic geth, and saved the council at the cost of hundreds of human lives. All to ensure the galaxy was as prepared as it could be.

Allers to me is just another means to an end. Put up with her in order to ensure my forces are as prepared as they can be.

Seriously people, she's a freaking reporter. It's not that big of a deal.

I liked the background information she provided, as well as the connection to the world - she made the galaxy feel "larger," I guess.

Because IGN is on the EA payroll and Chobot has no journalistic or professional integrity. There is nothing to speculate since we know what happened. It is like speculating about the Titanic.

Before she jumped on the bandwagon with her IGN cohorts and called us whiny and entitled, I actually supported her. Can't believe I did that now. (Yeah, she apologized, but it was like, "Oh, shouldn't have done that. Sorry.")

Yeah, only inviting her on to boot her off afterwards now.

Emily Wong would have been 100,000x better. Too bad EA/BioWare needed IGN's support and also thought Allers' boobs would gain the favor of us ME3 fans.

I didn't hate or like Allers she was just THERE. I did like her and Traynor's back and forth. Other than that she was whatever. It didn't bother me when she hit on me either because seriously this is Mass Effect everyone will hit on you. I've gotten used to it.

Sure, I thought it was neat to have an unbiased reporter on the Normany helping the war effort.  I thought her character had some great lines of dialogue and it was pleasant to have her aboard.  I had no idea who Chobot was prior to finding out on the forums, so I wasn't predisposed to disliking her.

I did find it a little odd that Emily Wong was MIA from the game though.

Jessica Chobot isn’t an actress. She had a bit part in some film called Cross. She’s a journalist for IGN.

You would think a reporter would move around the ship or even on the Citadel to get interviews from people to get a story. All she does is take up space standing in the same spot 98% of the time. That robo dog (from the collectors edition) had more movement and character design and it was stuck on the flight deck. A lot of people hate the fact that EA/BioWare wasted time and space on her instead of someone else, like the reporters we already know from Mass Effect.

 Little known fact about Diana Allers: she is an alcoholic.
She has at least 8 bottles around her room, 7 of them are whiskey. Go on, find them all, I dare you.

Now the actual question is: can we afford to have an alcoholic in charge of the Normandy PR campaign? I think not. Diane either clears up her act, or leaves.

I hated her. I only used her for the extra war assets.

I think they should have used Emily Wong since it would have made more sense.

Also, Chobot is an awful voice actor. This was an obvious way to get high scores from IGN.

I don't follow game journalism so I never really understood the ... well, anything about her. I just let her on the ship because hey, she gives me more options to chat with the crew and adds some background flavour.

I wouldn't say I "loved" her as a character, she was pretty bland and her role really could have been expanded significantly with much more detailed interviews and many more news reports about your exploits that you could listen to. Maybe get some "fan reactions" about Shepard's actions through her?

She felt under-utilized, to me.

I liked the idea of an embedded reporter and I did like going in there to talk to her and hearing all the news but like everyone else I'd have preferred Emily Wong.

I also can't get over creeped-out I was when she makes a pass at you. She was way too obviously Jessica Chobot in an ink-suit for that not to be really skeevy.

As someone who likes their women fairly svelte, Allers really isn't my idea of eye candy. Especially when combined with that terrible hamster face. That also meant I was very upset that they felt the need to modify Liara's war assets... she was perfect the way she was, bigger isn't always better. 

She wasn't that much eyecandy, somehow she reminded me too much of „Snooki“ to be that.
I do think that was the reason she was chosen though, instead of Emily WOng or al-Jihani who both would have made tons more sense.

My reaction to her was (in my best Stewie impression) "Who the hell are you?" My second thought was "My god you're voice acting is terrible." And my third was "What the hell are you wearing?"

At first I thought it would be cool to periodically give her an update on my progress, but those events were so few and far between I completely forgot she was aboard my ship.

Once she interviewed me I started wondering what happened to Emily Wong.
