3rd best character in the trilogy IMO. Just behind Kai-Leng and the Catalyst.

It's sad that her first involvement in the voice acting scene was to participate in a game that was dragged down by so many minor problems and one MAJOR problem. Hopefully her career isn't damaged by what happened (unlikely but still depressingly possible).

Nope can't stand her from the look to the voice. I would rather had Emily Wong or even Khalisah al-Jilani, who appears to have taken up boxing which is a plus.
Khalisah al-Jilani
Yes, I liked it how she atempted to avoid the puch, she actuayl got me the first time since I didn't see it comming
My guess, she gets punched and kicked by a lot of people, we could see it on the shadowbroker ship... She probably took a selfdecence class after getting kicked by that Volus... It can't get much worse than that, getting kicked by a Volus... a People who has no idiea how to fight...
Anyway i'm glad she finaly decided to help out a little when encouraged instead of just anoying people. How she got that large multispecis audience is beyond me, I guess there are a lot of jerks around the galaxy. Maybe she was the right person to reachout to those people and get them involved in what was going on.
As for Allers, I didn't mind her, she game me 5 war assets simply by gettign on the ship and reporting on warevents, which might have helped the galaxy prepare for what was hapening.. She got me another 5 for krogan clan support and another 5 by convincing the council to send some materials for geth upgrades on their ground forces. Maybe a few points to the 105th aliiance marine corps? or whatever they were called..
However, I would have loved to have the option of doing more interviews covering more stuff and maybe help out with recruitment lines or bolster troop confidence some more..
All in all bringing news to the people seems like a good thing for war morale, least people get the feal that things are still working, the galaxy isn't lost yet.
I like the idea of an onboard reporter, I don't care who it is as long as it's someone that's competent and capable of rallying support. Information is power and controlling a small amount of the information going around will grant you a small amount of power. Maybe we could have another interview if we do an interesting singleplayer DLC mission? I really liked the lair of the shadowbroker in ME2.
The others were ok, but that was my favrite DLC.

That's the thing, her interviews seemed like an excuse to get her in Shepard's cabin and have sex, they didn't seem to be there to boost troop morale or recruit anyone.
I would have liked to be able to give interviews to boost the morale, then maybe Hackett could have said something about it, like when he commented on al-Jilani's interview in ME1.

The interviews were short and I wish her character was more fleshed out.

As for saying licking a PSP doesn't make her a gamer, I never said it did. I would however, be willing to bet she enjoys gaming, which would in turn make her a gamer. You don't get into the industry if you don't enjoy it. Plus, in her position she has to be a gamer whether she likes it or not.
I think Olivia Munn had no idea about anything to do with videogames when she got into the industry.

Her character should have been utilized more as a journalist. I'd always walk down and visit her expecting her to want to know what happened on my last mission, and she didn't seem to care. She could have had scenes around the ship where she was interviewing other crew aboard the Normandy, and maybe even have Vega hit on her for some comic relief.

She must have thought it was a cool opportunity and I give her credit for putting herself out there. If there is any "blame" to go around, I place it squarely on BioWare's shoulders.

Anyway back to chobot. Maybe that's how she really talks, but she's just not suited for voice over work. Surely she had an audition? I don't understand how she made it in?

not sure how olivia munn got dragged into this but yes. All she did was ride the "i'm a geek" train all the way to famous town and then totally implode when she tried to break into real tv. Anyone seen or heard of her in a while? No. That sitcom failed, and she dropped off the face of the earth.

I didn't bring her up I don't think but I do think that if they wanted to do geek fanservice Olivia Munn would have been the better choice. Or someone with ties to sci-fi. Like, I dunno, Tricia Helfer?
I had the faintest idea who Chobot was, and if someone hadn't told me that was her I certainly wouldn't have recognized her based on Diana Allers.
Guess my sci-fi/videogame/geek cred is low.

No offense against Miss Chobot, but Allers is useless.
The only reason I recruit her in my playthroughs is "5" War-Asset-points.
For me, there is no reason for Allers being in the game.
BioWare mentioned the Squad would be smaller so there could be more focus on the characters we take with us.
I don't really feel like there is a focus on the characters(Garrus, Liara, Tali, Ashley, Kaidan...), compared to ME2.
Personally I think there was more focus on the characters in ME2...all twelve of them.
Instead there is Allers.
Contrary to the boobs, the character feels so damn flat that I found almost more immersion in the camera-drone.
The only thing where I can relate with Allers is when she sends that E-Mail at the end of the game.
Miss Chobot is no professional VA as far as I know, so I'm not surprised that I find Allers VA lacking compared to the professional VA of the other characters.
Still, Miss Chobot did better than I would have expected from a gaming reporter.
So...no.
I don't like Allers. In fact I think she is the worst character ever in ME-history.
As for Miss Chobot:
I'm not a fan of her, but neither do I dislike her.

I have no problem with the Allers character per-se but BW botched it. They should have allowed choice of Wong, Allers, or Al-Jilani.

The Chobes is clearly a qualified and established voice actress whose performance really shapes not only the character or the story, but the player him/herself. Diana Allers is a groundbreaking character who will be remembered for years to come as a cornerstone personality and a hallmark in creativity for Bioware.
