A lot of people were throwing around EDI surviving as fact, saying she can walk out of the Normandy in the destroy ending, and there were a lot of claims of "Well EDI can survive the ending therefore the Catalyst is a liar."

Upon seeing that quite a few times, and then even hearing about it on other websites, I decided to do some research for myself. Google and Youtube kept on turning up blanks so it was clear it was just hearay, hence this thread, it was made to get rid of this rumour and get out the information that no, EDI can't survive.

Starchild tells Shepard that Destroy will kill him/her. Shepard is a cyborg, by definition, all Human biotics are. Shep can survive the ending, Kaidan too. etc. Starchild is a liar.

With high EMS all survival possibilities are valid with the Destroy ending. Nothing is shown to the contrary.

So...she walked out on your playthrough?  Can I ask what you did to make this happen or did it seem random?  I'm going to try for it on my current playthrough so I'm wondering if there's something I should or shouldn't be doing to encourage it.

No, it just proves they don't run with fraps or some other such program running to  take the evidence you'd decided is required.

The only valid theory is the if you actually went back and pick the other two "choices" did EDI come out? The only time she came out for me was the synthesis ending. In the control ending it was my LI and Garrus. 

So you are in the same boat as those who state EDI can't surive because you can't show proof that she can't survive. Did they show her deactivated? Yeah the Normandy seems to be non-functional (that housed the CORE AI of EDI) yet she her "body" form lives? So she transferred all of herself from the ship to the body? It's all speculation and until we see everything laid out the way BioWare stated it would then lets just park it.

I am always amazed at how hard people work to be miserable.

This is simple:

Side A says, "EDI CAN SURVIVE! and possibly other things by extension."
Side B says, "Prove it!"
Side A says, "We can't."
Side B says, "WIN!"
Side A says, "Prove it."
Side B says, "We can't."

The only valid conclusion is that with a high EMS there are possibilities.

Well yeah, if you make a massive claim you need to have proof, this is how the world works. People are going to ask for proof, if you don't present any then your claims will be dismissed.

People claimed EDI can walk out of the Normandy on the destroy ending, yet out of all the videos on Youtube that show the ending not one shows this absolutely massive scenario, and not one person that has made that claim has presented any proof.

That's not how burden of proof works. I can show you rakes of destroy endings where EDI doesn't walk out of the Normandy, all you'd need to do is show one where she does and it would completely debunk my claim that she can't survive it.

You're mixing up speculation about her survivng with the statements that "EDI can walk out of the Normandy in the destroy ending". You can speculate about EDI surviving the destroy ending all you want, but you need proof before you can claim that she does.

Well I just recruited him but I don't  plan on talking to him because that's the last guy I'd want to subject my squadmates/LI to on Gilligan's planet.  

I've taken her on a fair amount of missions so we'll see

why do people keep ingnoring I did exactly what you are all going to do? I mean I understand we need as many esperiments as possible, but at least acknowledge my efforts lol (not serious)
