I think the cover system in this game is iffy, I often times found myself slipping out of cover when I am trying to move from say the middle of a piece of cover to the edge to set up a snipe shot.

My Shepard would just stand up only to get shot in the face.

I actually liked the cover system better in ME2, i felt once I was in cover I was locked to it and needed to purposefully click something to get myself out of it.

I guess "Fragile" is the word i would describe the cover system in ME3

I can get it with about 70% consistency...

Wish it had its own button though... the EPIC button.

Really, the Geth look like freaking badasses when they do it.

It's the slide Shepard always does...Dukes of Hazard style...I usually shout 'Shepard Slide!' as I do it.

If you're talking about vaulting over cover without first hiding behind it...it just takes some practice to get the timing down.  I can do it about 80% of the time now.  I wish they have made the window a little bit bigger than what they did for double tapping A.

Yes. Instead of double tapping when approaching the wall, hold down the space bar until Shepard slides into the wall to go into cover, then as he/she hits it, quickly tap the space bar again.

In other words, wait longer than normal after pressing the space bar the first time.

I've found you have to follow these steps:

1) Sprint towards cover
2) Just as your locking into cover and your character is sliding down it, press the A button once again.
3) You should slide 100% of the time.

When Shepard or one of the online characters slides over cover on his/her ass?
Like a B0SS. B)

No, I still haven't quite mastered the art yet, Probably only about 50% success. xD  I love it when it happens though.

I've tried it. Harder than it looks. You need to be surprisingly athletic to pull it off. Find a park bench away from other people and remember practice makes perfect.
To do this in game rush towards  cover and n arrow will appear curved in appearance. When you see the arrow  double tap the action button  o and Shepard will vault  over the cover. However iif the cover  is too long or too tall Shepard will  be unable  to perform the vault .

Once you figure out the timing it's incredibly easy to pull off.

I do what you guys suggest but I can only do it about 40% of the time. I know it's possible to do 100% of the time because I remember on Firebase White there was a teammate Geth quick vaulting over everything. I think he was showing off. :/

I really wish it was simple enough for me to do.

The one sure foolproof way to do it is to absolutely make sure you are desparate to stick to cover as you run up to it. If you absolutely want to hunker down behind cover, then you will 100% pop over that cover every, single time!

At least that's the way it always goes for me ...

Seriously, you have to double tap the space space at just the right moment when you're running up to the cover you want to vault over. In the beginning I only managed to do it when I absolutely DID NOT want to and died horribly on the wrong side of the cover I wanted to be stuck to.

As I'm sure others have told you, the trick is (at least on my xbox 360) is to sprint towards cover, and when your character begins getting down behind the cover mash A (I guess it's spacebar on PC and X on PS3?)!
Works everytime! During multiplayer things like lag could make a difference I guess)

It's so easy lol...keep running towards the cover and hold up on the thumbstick and you character will automatically go into cover....when you hit your cover continue to hold up and then tap the a button and you'll do it everytime!

Gears of war Veteran speaking here: Ye I have ofc in SP its fairly easy and ull get used to it, however the cover sliding isnt as smooth in ME3 so there is gonna have to be a bit of compensation. In MP u have to keep ur ping in mind... but it will come to you no real way to help you, all I can recommend is Swaping Shift and Space if ur on the PC as space can be un responsive at times and u can just tap shift with ur pinky :D

Like the Dukes of Hazzard slidy thing. I want to able to use that whenever I need to but I just can't get it down pat. A firend of mine tried to explain it to me but I just can't do it right. Can anyone help me in my quest.

EDIT: Hey look I didn't put a question mark. Oh well.

Never found it difficult. You simply double tap "run"  I have the PC keys to shift. So as you're coming towards an object to jump over - simply press it twice.

And if you're really quick at tapping: you can, be in cover quickly tap the "run" button twice and he'll slide over the object. I'm sorry if you're having difficult, it's something I picked up quickly

The only thing you have to do is, while taking cover, hold down the cover button instead of just pressing it. Release it and quickle press and hold it down again. That's how I can slide 100% of the time.

Yeah, MP is good practice, I'm usually running when I do it, you have to do a really quick double tap about 0.75-1.00 Shepard lengths out. Walking is trickier.
