What was the worst cut?

- Item descriptions
- Item pictures
- Persuasion skill
- Party camp
- Using your fists in combat
- Having warriors use bows, rogues use 2-handers, etc.
- Murder knife
- Origins
- Female Dwarves
Personally, I miss the Origins the most out of all the cut content from DA:O. It added so much replay value, yet they decided to cut such an awesome feature in the sequel.

In fact, interaction with party members in general was sorely, sorely lacking. Part of DA:O's charm was being able to really get to know your comrades - DA2's distinct lack of that put a major damper on an already majorly flawed game.

I really miss item descriptions though. Something about learning about the things I'm using just made it feel special. In DA2 only certain items had codex entries.

1. Origins- Made the whole game easier to replay, since each new origin felt like a fresh start.
2. Persuasion Check Skill (in DAO you had to choose to be a skilled talker, in DA2 everyone was) not great for roleplay options
3. Warriors (and all other classes) having a missile weapon option (really screwed up strategy and tactics in DA2)

But it wasn't the same knife. That's the problem.

True story - for the longest time, it -was- the same knife. Then we realized that it was hideous and extremely low poly, so we went with the new murder knife.
I think there's at least one or two scenes where it wasn't changed, but I may be mistaken. That may have been something I did after a couple of drinks and later reverted upon returning to sobriety.

So long as I can murder people with it, then it's all good!

As for the worst cut, Origins. Getting to know the Hawkes at the beginning of the game would have been much better.

Followed by item descriptions. It's fun, it's cheap, and I always read them for every single item I come across, so it adds time to playing the game and enjoying myself.
The combat changes didn't bother me, and I truly don't miss the origin stories. Non-combat skills are nice, but I don't mourn the Origins' skill system (hopefully they'll come up with something better if they choose to reintroduce some of these things).

I would have loved an origin story for the Hawke's in Lothering, getting the chance to get to know them a little better early in the game and see what their life was like in Lothering.

I don't mind that the companions in DA2 have their own place (I actually like it), but I miss being able to manage their inventory without taking them out for a walk

As much as I loved the party camp in Origins, would it really have made sense in DA2? It made sense in Origins because you were travelling around but in DA2 you are pretty much in and around Kirkwall so you don't really need a camp.
The hanged man would have been a fine chat with companions sort of camp...each could have had a table. We did see some of them there from time to time anyhow.
As to the OP...all of it except the MK which was already discussed as still being there.
And yes, like the poster above, tac cam on PC and chatting with companions more. A lot more!
Grease and Blizzard! Spell combos, arcane warrior and ranger specs, weapon variety and specs allowed for each of the classes and...oh heck I gotta go to sleep.

1) The charm/persuade/threaten options
2) Being able to talk to my companions when wanted, not when they demanded
3) Deeper conversations about your companions pasts, more interaction with them in general
4) DA:O style romance scene (even though they weren't fantastic they were still better than DA2)
5) An origins still prologue where you get to experience Hawke's life briefly before the Blight hit - Maybe in DA3 they could do class origin stories instead of race if they don't want to take that route again.
6) Party camp (or somewhere everyone could gather in one place to sort out your companions inventory etc)
7) Giving Anders another cat (he could have kept it at Hawke's house!)

After that is definitely persuasion, being able to talk your way through situations and in to different, unique situations was cool. A skipped entire fights but just being a smooth criminal. Hardly any of that in DA2 at all.

Seriously, this is one thing that I cannot stand about DA2. The vast amount of level re-use, particularly when it's repeated in key plot areas is a criminal design flaw.
