I must say, the removal of item descriptions irked me the most. Not being able to tell which of my five different rings was the one I wanted to give Merill the next time she's in my party resulted in a lot of wasted time .The entire idea seemed to reflect so clearly that Bioware had cut corners. Most other cuts could be justified by "style" and it took a while for recycled environments to get to me, but the item descriptions' removal could not in my mind be justified.

Origins most definitely. Mass effect's cool unique feature was that it carried over the PC and your choices from one game to the next. Before DA2 I thought Dragon Age's cool, unique feature was Origins, but then they stripped it. It made it seem like a new game every time, and really allowed you to "role play" in a way you couldn't in other RPGs.

In order of importance:Those are the big 7 straight up cuts.
- Meaningful character creator: No choice of race or origin story.
- Loss of class diversity: Specifically warriors losing the ability to dual wield or use bows.
- Party Camp: Central gathering point for companions and the ability to talk to those companions whenever you like, rather than being railroaded into having this conversation in this act and this in that act.
- Customisable companion equipment: I spent ages in Origins gearing my companions up, making sure their gear fit with their builds, giving them gear that was 'lore relevant' to that character, e.g. Alistair always gets Cailain's set and Maric's Arms.
- Skills: Just removed a very significant part of the game. Coercion was great, Poison Making + Herbalism became actually very important on higher difficulties (Bombs + Potent Lyrium Potion Crafting)
- Tactical Camera: Lack of one. This was especially bad considering how terrible the aoe targeting system was.
- Item Descriptions: Added flavour to the game, I can't even think of a reason to remove them other than time restraints.
I agree with all of these and i want to add Item Pictures/Icons to that list.
No more neon-ed looking equipment please and also more meaningfull loot, no more junk "junk" and 7812 rings of the same type.

The worst cut is origins, of course, but that wasn't likely to happen in a game with a voiced PC anyway.
I'd add one thing to the list which is the ability to manage - i.e, switch on or off - downloaded content including mods from the main menu. This was SO well done in DA:O, and is completely missing in DA2.
Mods do a lot to improve things in DA2, but it would be nice to be able to see which mods I have installed, and easily click them on or off from a menu.

Party interactions. The party camp could have very easily been replaced with The Hanged Man in Act I, and Hawke's estate later. Such a waste of space, really. Also Bohdan's store after Act I. Would have been nice to have a place to ditch items w/out having to area transition to do so.
