Do you find it strange playing games like Dragon Age with all the varying English/Irish/Scottish/Welsh accents in it? When I play games like Mass Effect I don't even notice that the accents are American and then they put an English character in and I'm like "wow, do we really sound that posh and well spoken?!"
You know, I was going to ask you the same thing. How are the Dalish/Welsh accents? Are they pretty accurate? I'm pretty sure most if not all of the Orlesian accents are faaaake.
Playing DA is different because the dwarves, Free Marchers, and some Fereldans sound American, so you get used to hearing them mixed together. It's more obvious on someone like Goldanna who was a pretty harsh Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady (is that cockney?) accent.
In Mass Effect... oh golly. Most of them are Canadian and that's just a big ol' distraction.
Mass Effect actors are mostly Canadian?! LOL I had no idea! Goldanna's voice is what we call a "mockney" (mock cockney accent) the Dalish accents are a mix of Welsh (Merrill) and Irish which is really odd to listen to. Some of the actors are definitely American's doing English accents which is always fun! I think Seb's voice was a genuine Scottish accent, if not then it was bloody convincing.
I love all the funny insults they come up with in Dragon Age like "Andraste's tight panty girdles" and stuff like that because those are the sort of silly insults English people say but it's done in keeping with the DA lore, if that makes sense?
Most of the Orlesian accents are fake, I'm not sure about Leliana's though.
