It would be nice if the DA3 hero is related, though it's not a big deal.

Maybe not a family member. I was personally hoping it being someone either the Warden or Hawke saved. The can make a small cameo saving/protecting the person when they are escaping a battle. The person would be inspired by this, and he/she would decide to help change the world. For better or worse of course, is up to the player.
This is an awesome idea, and one which I think would please a lot of people. It would be awesome to see our character/s in all their glory like that

That's why i loved playing the Mage Warden because of the family connection i hope Mr.Gaider can write it inArthur Cousland wrote...
I went back and replayed Origins just to have an Amell warden, for the family connections and dialogue (and to unlock Dark Epiphany).

Do you guys and gals think our next hero should be related to The Warden and Hawke
As Hawke can only be human, that means the Warden can only be human. So all the elf and dwarf Wardens cannot be imported into DA3.
As DA2 is deliberately independent of DAO, it is hard to find a common set of events between the Warden and Hawke. The only time and place the two could meet is Lothering.
What I want is for the PC in DA3 to participate in and maybe be instrumental in the final fate of the Warden and Hawke. I want closure for them like what happened in the Baldur's Gate series. I want closure for a lot of loose ends from DAO and DA2, such as ...
1. Morrigan's child. Include a quest that triggers only if there is a child in DAO. Otherwise just have a cameo by a bitter Morrigan that explains why she wanted the child.
2. Flemeth. Witch Hunt hints that Flemeth survives and has plans that beyond just continuing to live. In DA2 we see how she survives.
3. The aftermath of the breakup of the Circles. The epilogue of DA2 implies this will be the main narrative of DA3.

Potential Wardens came from other families too. Why not tell their stories for a change?

But yeah, I would like the direction to return to being able to choose race, and having the Human be related to the Amells. Would be cool.

If Charade Amell is a companion/Li then I would be fine with no ties to the Warden or Hawke.
I'd prefer if the Hawke sibling became a companion/LI personally; their stories felt unfinished and both could later be conscripted into the Grey Wardens thus providing us with a Warden-ie presence in Dragon Age 3

I don't think DAIII should do it again though, in the same way I don't want to run into every ex-companion and old NPC. Too much, "Isn't it a small world!" going around. I'm looking forward to having a new story and new characters.
However, just to backtrack on myself, I would like to see more Charade. She was pretty cool for the whole two minutes you got to speak to her.

I'd prefer for our new protagonist to have nothing to do with the Warden or Hawke. I want it to be a completely separate tale, not even connected in the way Hawke was to the Blight.

I kind of agree. I thought they really nailed it with Hawke - having her/him fleeing Lothering at the very beginning of the blight. It wasn't tacky: the warden and Hawke weren't made to be related, but it still fit into and allowed for nods at the warden's story. I thought it was a nice fit.
Tasteful. I'd like to see them do something similar with DA3.
