Seriously? I never knew that, bought the ultimate editions of DA:O for both the 360/PC. Did the Warden get set back to Redcliffe before the final battle in Denerim or...?

Commander Shepard has become a legend by ending the reaper threat. Now you can continue to build that legend through further gameplay and downloadable content.

I can't imagine many people would argue that Lair of the Shadow Broker was a terrible idea or badly implemented. DLC is not a bad thing on its own. In fact, there is a chance that DLC may actually address the issues most people have with the end of the Mass Effect series, so how about you put on your big boy pants and just wait to see what BioWare produces in the summer.

No one here is saying DLC is bad per se. What people are saying is, it's shameful to cry out "artistic integrity!" and "artistic vision!" if at the end of said artistic work, you slap in a blatant advertisement for extra merch'.TS2Aggie wrote...

They did it in DAII as well. Difference being that these two games weren't the finale of a trilogy.

The difference, though, is that at the end of ME2, we knew ME3 was coming. Things like Kasumi and Overlord were just harmless add-ons for people who loved the game, while LotSB and Arrival were created with the intention of bridging the gap between ME2 and ME3. In the case of ME3, we don't have a sequel to be bridged to, so seeing that message advertising already-planned DLC after a horribly dissatisfying ending is a real gut check.
Plus, if you're defending pre-planned DLC as a way to fix the original product... Well, that's a whole different conversation all together.

The last words of the trilogy...Unacceptable, and they honestly thought this would end well for them?
I agree, completely unacceptable behaviour, given how the game ended.
The inference of those last two words being that DLC is more important to them then giving fans a proper ending they pretty much advertised during the marketing.

Contextually very different, IMHO, dragon age delivered a satisfying ending with detailed descriptions of what your choices affected - it worked as advertised.
If your product works as advertised, then saying "I bet you can't wait for DLC" is contextually a positive thing.
Pulling a fast one on your fans and then saying "guess what we planned DLC!" - that's a kick in the privates.

I think by the time that popped up I had already tabbed out and was checking if anyone else on the board here was as furious / boggled as I was.
I had done the exact same thing, tabbed back in to the DLC message, already peeved over the endings, that just made me turn off the pc in disgust and go to bed.

I saw it through to the end and said, yeah like that's going to happen, what's the point when I don't even feel like replaying.Silvren555 wrote...

Yeah but DA:O had a vastly superior ending in which your choices shaped your final fate, ME3 did not.incinerator950 wrote...

Not really, they gave you a side script that recaps everything you did and adds things you won't see. I play the game for an interactive story, not a novel. Same reason why I think the ending in New Vegas is also garbage.
When I said it was the same as DA:O, I meant it. It gave you a congratulations, you win message. Then puts you in a spot where you can play with DLC. If you don't like what you got in ME 3, sorry tough luck. However, the message you receive is nearly identical.
