I'm quite new to the multiplayer experience in ME3, and I started a vanguard charater out of curiousity. It's a fun, fast paced character to play but I totally understand what you're getting at here in the forum. It's a class that encourages head on fights by its design, essentially making you more powerful and in some cases, more useful for the team if you are out there, cracking heads.

However, I'm looking for tips for the later stages, silver and gold. What would be a reasonable play style that ensures survival and benefitting the team at the same time?

We are having a lively discussion on just that topic found in this thread:  http://social.biowar...2381/5#11559187
Feel free to check it out and leave some input/feedback.

lol, naw I just have to say Hi on mic, Incur some awkward pick up lines and I'm in no matter mah level. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie]

The point being to avoid the vanguard 'falling through the world bug' by hosting. No pickup lines will save you from that one, unfortunatly. :pinched:

Also, people are stupid. I rock on my novaguard. I just wish I found more overload spammers like me when I'm on my engineers so I can set of more explosions :<

I still carry my carnifex for those pesky pyros, banshees and other no charge situations.

Vanguards can fall through the world?? :o

I honestly think classes that carry sniper rifles that aren't suited for them are worse than vanguards in general. Basically Adepts using sniper rifles = bah.

I guess one of my more petty and minor gripes with vanguards is that I'm an "original" vanguard. I played the class before there ever was a "biotic charge." It seems as though there weren't THAT many vanguard players before ME2 came out. Then, when the "biotic charge" was revealed, al lot more mysteriously popped up. The same goes from ME2 to ME3.
I know there are some other long-time veteran vanguards out there, but the bandwagoners...

The problem is that a lot of players that suck, tend to play vanguards.

Huh, I got the feeling those who bashed the vanguard class were the ones who tried them and sucked so bad they have to justify their hate.

I tend to play "tank" classes in my games, so a krogan vanguard is my cup 'o tea. Even though I also love playing my infiltrators, especially my GI, it can be hard coming off one play style (krogan/headbutt-it-to-death) to something that requires that 0 bullets find their way in your direction lest ye be sun bathing in the dirt (geth/please-don't-shoot-me).

On a more serious note: To be fair, most just don't adjust their play style to fit the needs of the group. Not just those who play vanguards, but any class.

If you want to have a good time with trigger happy vanguards, just follow them. If I'm playing any of my squishy classes, I always follow the closest thing to a tank in my squad. Supporting them almost always keeps me alive far longer than if I went the lone wolf route (that I've seen a lot of players do). And, if I just so happen to have a follower when playing my krogan tanks (soldier or vanguard), then that actually makes me feel proud that I'm doing my job as a meatshield.

Your Pc graphics are phenomenal, sir but as far as that glitch goes, I think I'll put off playing Vanguard for a bit :?
