Why do level 20's play bronze?

I mainly just want to unlock new characters (really want a geth infiltrator) and weapons to try, and successful bronze games give more credits (and are more fun) than silver games that fail on wave 6-8.

For Fun, trying out new characters or character rarely used, I use my Battlfield 3 soldier mostly in Bronze and Silver (Avenger X with some mods I basically spam Carnage and use Adrenaline Rush) just to mix things up a bit.
Trial and Error, testing out powers and weapons, getting a good feel for your character. I did this with my Geth Infiltrator considering my Salarian Infitrator has Energy Drain I mainly wanted to get a feel for what my Geth Infiltrator can do with the right weapons.

My girlfriend says size doesn't matter, but sometimes I worry...ABjerre wrote...
I never played my Vanguard, yet it was lvl20 from trash cards. I felt like i needed some practice before bothering people on silver and gold with him. Not that i ever made it that far - it is a retarded class! Anyone argueing that vanguards are not created to cater to kids (or people unhapy with their penis size) are either:
A) a liarpart of the targeted segment

Combined with the fact that a bronze match usually gives enough for about 3 recruit (which I feel are the best ones to stock up on equipment out of the normal 3 packs), playing bronze is a good way to stock up on medigels, rockets etc to prepare for silver or gold. Using level 20 characters are just to make sure that I complete the whole round without problems.

Some friends? I only play Gold with. Others, I stick to Silver. All my characters are level 20, and I don't plan on promoting them soon, so why shouldn't I (gasp) play the difficulty that I want if I'm not dragging the team down?

It's funny how people who can't click well with a class blame the people who play it in some way. Such melodrama!

Also i'm trying to get my Asari Adept and Turian Sentinel into Silver games but i think i'll have to respec to the cookie cutter build for both. But since i got my N7-Valliant I i kinda like playing QI (Full sabo/cloak no grenades) for some reason, it's just to much fun VS Geth.
When i play 1 Silver game i have the feeling I've ran 2 bronze games. Maybe because there are much more enemies or something. And in like any other game i don't wanna ruin other peoples fun with my ****ty (Somewhat better now) weapons. Where i'm 1st on Bronze most of the time i'm almost always last or 3rd place on silver off course if you made it that's still good but when your score is half or less then NR1 i don't really feel like i made a difference.
I've got a N7 rating of 621 but I've only gotten the starting weapons on X everything else is just IV - V or VI... When i get the upgrades i want and specs right and more experience with other classes maybe Silver will become basic but as it is now... nah.
Also when playing a Silver pug some matches took about 25 - 30 minutes, while some of the bronze games lasted like 11minutes these games did have some really good players in them.
But i got this problem in most games, i can't commit to 1 class/spec, where in like WoW i had all classes @ max level. I like variation.

Another reason that haven't been said yet (for me at least) is equipment saving. On Bronze games, most of the time I never get downed so no medigel is needed, the enemies don't come in big packs and the bigger enemies like Atlases only come one at a time so no rocket is required, and because of the relatively low health of the enemies no rail amps or ammo powers are needed to do decent damage.
Combined with the fact that a bronze match usually gives enough for about 3 recruit (which I feel are the best ones to stock up on equipment out of the normal 3 packs), playing bronze is a good way to stock up on medigels, rockets etc to prepare for silver or gold. Unfortunately, I'm nearing the point where this might become the case for me as well.
I've been living pack-to-pack on medigels for a while, but I've managed to get by, and I've been fine on the other consumables. I'm now down to 20-something rockets though -- it irritates me that people on silver/gold seem so stingy with them. If it's an assassination round and it's a can't-miss Atlas, rocket that fat MFer or more bonus monies!!! Hack zone's surrounded by primes/banshees/atlases stacked like dominoes? ROCKET time - everyone's life just became a whole lot easier!! Does that option not occur to some people, or are they just banking on people like me taking one for the team?

I had to reset my character to reverse some of the choices I made so I was playing bronze to level up and I found myself playing with a lot of level 20's. Why would you do this? In bronze it takes 5-6 successful runs to earn a spectre pack and it is so easy it isn't even that fun.
Because Im from Australia where playing with internationals often means 3 second latency or a complete lag fest and there aren't many Aussies playing the same time as myself (plus Im not good enough to play Gold, where most Aussies are).
Its bearable and still fun in Bronze, downright scary in Silver and well,Gold,I think you get the picture.

1. remapping keys. playing for practice
2. trying out new character for first time and sucking at it. I usually do this on silver and get constant facepalm reactions fromt he rest of the team. Which is pretty annoying at n7 +700...
3. weapons test. before going into a hardcore battle equipped with something looking like the Cain and working as a peashoo, it may be wiser trying it out first.
4. why not?
And of course a number of other reasons I do not have the capacity to elaborate on...

Seriously talking I do it for the same reasons the above do, check a class out, learn how to play them, I just want an easy game... since again a silver may be fun or we can die after 2 waves... or players on a rating of under 100 with a level 5 vanguard will join then leave you after a few waves because it is too hard and they keep dying which geos back to my initial joke... not a joke at all.

+ Because I'm trying out some goofy new build / weapon setup.
+ Because I feel like roflstomping something and relaxing as a change of pace from the intensity of a gold match.
