Gold = people I know well
Silver = when I'm bored and want to reduce my hairline
Bronze = cause I wanna chill, it's hot where Iam

so ti's not just me? I find bronze really easy (@ lvl 20 adept), but silver is really annoying and stressful, mostly becasue I end up getting paried with a team that runs around and gets killed and we fail at 4. The ONLY time I win at Silver is when I have a team that sticks together (~30% of the time) or maybe when there is a nutso SI that simply owns everything...

I don't even try gold becasue I figure it would be more of the same,...

It is faster to make money without using the best mods. Because it can help the lower levels to safely xp their toons. Because it help to test different skills withoiut endangering your team. Because it ****** you off to see the leader just close the game at the tenth wave on a silver or gold party. Because it is funny. And just because.

The other day me and my friends were trying to find the best and most fun way to make a lot of credits very quickly without resorting to the tedium of G/G/FBW farming... so we tried Bronze Unknown Unknown, and barring the missions where you have a hack terminal we were finishing a Bronze match in 10-15 minutes.

Making it possible to do 5-6 Bronze games an hours which is roughly 17,500 x 5 = 87,500 credits/hour on Easy mode. Not an extreme amount of money but for barely breaking a sweat it can be done.

I do it occasionally when I'm trying new builds. Trying a build that you're unfamiliar with on Silver (or Gold) usually ends badly.

I also play bronze when my less well equipped friends want to play a game if I'm not confident I can carry them through silver.

Telling N7-500 level 20s they can't play bronze is sort of the same thing as telling N7-50s that they can't play silver. You might be right, but you're not given the power to enforce it, thank goodness.

i only play bronze because i dont know anyone who plays this game. i have played a few silver matches, but the people i played those matches with were terrible. i ended up being the last person to survive each and every single "resistance is futile" silver match i was in - the rest of the team was dusted early, maybe 3-4 waves in. gold - i wont even mess with gold until i can get a team of people i know are good players and they all have mics. quite honestly, you'd be surprised how many people i've seen do the dumbest things and die in bronze - def not the people i want to take my chances to play gold with. i understand the better players gravitate towards gold because they know they can handle it, so i suppose the ratio of good players is better there. but my experiences with silver kinda killed it for me.

I can carry a team fairly well on bronze, but not on silver, so sometimes I don't want the headache of ending up with Shaky-aim McTunnelvision and his halfwit buddies. Also to try out builds and weapons/mods.

If you are trying out a new build (new weapons or tactics). It's better than dragging down a team in Silver/Gold. Also, no worries that where even if the rest of your team is rubbish you'll be screwed. Also good for goofing off.

If I want to play an Adept using a Stasis-Claymore combo, I might want to try it out on Bronze first, for example.

Also nice for lots of biotic explosions without worrying about dying, and turning up the subwoofer. BOOOOM

I play gold with my friend, silver with randoms, and the only reason I go to bronze is to level up a promoted character to level 10 before switching to silver.

Sometimes I play bronze as a quick 15k credits if I'm close to affording a pack but am low on time.

1) I'm <15k credits short of a pack that I want, and none of my friends are online. I'd rather drop into a bronze game that I can easily solo if my team sucks, instead of gambling on a silver or gold pub group that might flame-out and make me start all over.

2) I feel like trying out a weird build or sub-optimal weapon/class combo. Often I'll just do this on silver, but again, only if I've got at least a couple of friends online. We've all carried each other through bad days, bad builds, or various mishaps. If I'm playing with pubs, I play by the golden rule; I wouldn't want to carry a scrub that decided post-buff to find out how viable, say, an SMG-only build would be, so I won't do that to someone else. I'll do it to my buddies though. :)

3) Because it's a game, and I can.

4) Sometimes, believe it or not, I enjoy playing with people who have no idea what they're doing. And it's not *always* to laugh at them (with the mic off, I'm a gentleman ;) ). Odds are that they're not exactly super-hardcore-committed to getting better -- but if they are, I enjoy giving advice, or just helping them blow things up for a round and then leaving. I read a post a while back made by a vet who saw a level 1 in the lobby and decided to follow him around the whole match and soften things up for him to kill -- seemed like a fun idea, so I've done it a couple of times. Not every N7>500 is an elitist douche.

#1 Yep.
#2 Yep.
#3 Yep.... and you left out that it's fun to do every now and then just to kick back, and not stress. Image IPB]
#4 Yep... I do this alot, myself. Also helps new people learn the maps and strategies.

I also like to warm up a couple matches on Bronze after a long day at work, before my friends get online, and we start doing harder stuff..... not to mention being a lot less boring than farming some of the other maps on gold.

Trust me, I'm sure you people who play on higher difficulties in random matches appreciate that some of us are aware we don't have the skills to play on anything beyond bronze. :P

This sums it up for me as well. Not everyone has the same skill in playing the silver and especially the gold difficulties.

I’m not what you would call a great player and as such I am comfortable in the bronze level a lot more than I am in silver and I wouldn’t even think to attempt gold.

Maybe when I’m comfortable with a certain class I’ll try silver a few times.

Try bronze with friends when you're all really drunk. The Batarian falcon punch inspires tears of joy in that state of mind, and someone's always going to run straight at cannibals and try to hug them. Guaranteed.

QFT.

Same here. I took my level 20 Turian Sentinel into a silver game just to finally try it out, ended up with Reapers... we all at least lived to complete wave 10 (all died after completing objective, though). Saw it only paid out $1,000 creds than completing a bronze session.

Decided it was not worth the stress level and I was just not a great asset to the team. So, I stick with bronze. I can actually come home from a stressful day at work and just have fun.

Because Silver matches have folks with less brain cells than bronze. Its sad, but true, most games ive seen on silver either have a farmer (sits in corner) the rambo group (everyone goes to the corners) and tends to ignore revives, and big threats. Well, bronze is where i'll play, outside with friends for silver and up. Where teamwork, calling targets, shots, and working together in a fun and enjoyable mode happens.

THIS.  Few times have I found a group of randoms that can successfully do silver, and when I do I usually milk it for  5-6 games.

I play Bronze to screw around with characters like Vanguards and Soldiers and just have fun. Gold is pretty stressful/annoying most of the time, so going to Bronze once in a while is relaxing.

I also enjoy trolling the noobs and stealing all their kills. Made a couple of people **** and leave last night using a level 19 Krogan Vanguard. These guys couldn't crack 2k points after 7-8 rounds and kept whining and then left. These guys still haven't realized that the XP is shared and that I'm doing them a huge favor by speeding up the game for them.

Uh, you get 30,000 credits in a silver match which is double that of a bronze match and it only takes a couple of minutes longer.

I like to play Bronze games to find out how well I do with a gun or a class I haven't used in Silver or Gold before.

There is no point in me taking out a Sabre on gold if I don't know anything about it first, I didn't even know it was single shot until I played Bronze today as an example.

Mostly to test out classes or just have fun.
Ever tried a something like the Revenant,  Falcon, or Striker rifle against a bunch of Bronze enemies as a level 20? You'll forget all about the leecher, failed gold match, or mic kid that bothered you earlier.

That is really, really bizarre then, because I swear it only gave me, like, $15,000 or $16,000 (whereas I finish successful bronze matches around $14,000-$15,000). Maybe we didn't finish the wave 10 objective or something... sure thought we had, though.

At any rate, still was not a fun or enjoyable experience.

I played bronze recently to try out classes I haven't played before. All my classes are level 18-20 even though I haven't played the majority of them. What I learned was that everything on bronze dies in one gun shot so there's almost no way to learn abilities on that challenge level.

I mostly play bronze. After a handful of silver games, I can honestly say there are far better team players on bronze. The few silver games I have played, everyone is running everywhere doing their own thing. Few people are cooperating in achieving objectives.

As I only do PUGS, I am more likely to find a group of people able to play cooperatively in bronze and if they don't... at least I can solo my way to the next wave.
