Does Anyone Else Think Bioware's Been Lying to Us Again?

If Bioware are content with swiping this under the rug and accepting mediocrity (thats putting it lightly, I'd call it failure) then I guess I'm content (thats still putting it far too lightly) with not respecting them anymore.
Or they can aim for that A+. Whatever floats there boat, I'm not their teacher so its not my job to drive them to success.

We won't get a different ending because yeah, the ending they came up with had some apparent fancy message and meaning that I simply did not get. I'm not sure why the walk slowly for ten minutes, shoot someone have a choice of three different coloured endings was supposed to be artistic, the slow walk... is annoying. And really this is the kind of ending where its almost like... Hey I don't know how to tie things together so lets just make something up out of the blue.
It's dissapointing but we are stuck with it. I've gone through books and movies that are the same, however...
Mass Effect has been a great series, up until those last tem minutes its been perhaps one of the greatest stories ever told and I was happy that I got to go along and make choices to effect it. I am not going to let the ending overshadow this.
Oh and about the trading cars... and gambling... everytime I go to buy a pack its a gamble, cause half the time I lose the credits and don't get the pack cause they can't fix the bug that they know about.

Bioware have turned into the gaming Equivalent of a Politician. lots of promisses, lots of hype. and a crappy job end result.
Trusting EAware is like Trusting a politician. they have 0 credibility.
They get their lessions first hand from the PR team of Governor Rick Perry from their state he gives them cudos all the time. You should watch the move call "Other People's Money Danny Devito". they rermind me of this movie.

Did you *SEE* the ending they put in Mass Effect 3?Larg_Kellein wrote...
I kind of doubt it, man. They'd have to be monumentally stupid to deliberately further undermine their own credibility at this point. They've made mistakes, but they're not idiots.
That said, it's really obvious they didn't like the reaction they got. They really have been very deflective about the whole thing, much more so than many other game companies have been about issues that rile up the playerbase, making a whole lot about people being rude on internet forums (when your target market is 16-30 year old males who generally are rather used to seedy internet behavior...one needs to understand the target market, you don't see Valve/EA/Activision/Blizzard/etc whining in press releases about such things or scolding their customer base) and touting industry reviews and never once addressing directly any of the primary concerns repeated ad infinitum.
Their statement regarding the ending DLC itself was indicative of this, wording the statement in such a way that really made it seem like people who didn't like the ending were just too stupid to get it, as opposed to there being major literary, narrative, buildup and logic issues with it.
In the end, we'll have to wait and see, but, unless the ending DLC turns out much different than they are making it out to be, I'll likely never spend money on another Bioware product again. Yeah, they're responding, but they're doing it in a way that's rather passive-aggressive with their player (customer) base, and when that happens, they've lost it.

And this is why I beleive the DLC will be just as bad as the original cut... For me it wasn't that part that was bad, it was the ten minute slow walk, the fire one shot then a choice of what is your faveriote colour.

Agreed, and the fact that they thought it was a good ending in the first place either likely shows they're really out of touch with the story they themselves created and/or playerbase expectations, or they didn't actually know anything about the ending before the game released and are defending it because they feel they have to. None of that bodes well for the ending DLC.Spiritwolf1 wrote...

Honestly the ending left me with the same feeling as Mass Effect 2, just with more dialogue you are unable to skip.

I won't support horrible game designs based on so called artistic talent - there was little artistry and even less talent for the end of a franchise

When did they stop? They have been in PR damage control mode and spin mode since the crap storm about the ending started.
Sometimes the half-truths, blatant misrepresentations and false hype is worse than outright lies.

Why do I think that's what they will do? Because I think they ran out of time when making the ending, as they following the autumn-leak probably decided to redo all of it which took more time than they had. Or at least I hope so.

I think that Bioware isn't just "extending" the ending. I think the whole thing was a ruse to begin with. What the end result is I won't try and theorize on, we have several theory-threads already, but I think that the ending will be overhauled, not just changed or extended.

First the FTC and the BBB and now the gambling commission?! LOL And people wonder why the articles call some immature and whiny.
If you're going to report ME3/Bioware to them, you might want to report the whole slew of other games that does this exact thing. Like the multitude of phone games and such.
However, when you pay for the packs you get stuff. So it's not like you're putting money in and getting nothing in return. So this is just hillarious.

I'm pretty sure a multi-million dollar company covered its bases as far as anything they do. So you're not going to be able to have a claim against them.

I am not tying to claim or get anything here the best way to beat someone is to take a part the structure they have built and the foundation from which they built it on.
All I have to do is prove to the federal gaming commision that they are in violation I have done that. I have also opened complains in muliple states and the more eyes that look at the issue the bigger the issue gets.
The gammers saw my 3 page letter felt complelled to agree with my findings
All I have to do is cut off the pinkies fromm the snake and it will starve and lose weight. Lawyers cost alot for EA,rental cars, hotels, food, perdeim. I have a 0 credit rating I dont care and have nothing, they will fly to meet each state to comply and explain them selves and find they dont and get injuntions and what not and the money will flow like blood. EA will cut the checks and bad PR will build with little 13 joey mommy who found out that her son spent 100 bucks on packs to get a spin on the EA win. So now come the charge backs from all the mothers and the fathers who discover these charges.
More bad PR will flow and more cash will spill in to the streets to cover up the bad PR.
Then I will find some thing else take apart next.

Well First I'm not entirely sure snakes have pinkies
Second we are upset at the ending, how this jumps into gambling or why is beyond me.

I'm guessing all we'll get is some cutscenes akin to the Quarians and Geth rebuilding Rannoch, the Krogan welcoming in their new wave of children, and your LI either mourning you or playing with a child MaleShep sired before the last mission.
Maybe something with Garrus and Vega at a bar, Joker and EDI together...
You get the idea.

So I assume you're going to report the Madden franchise and the NCAA franchise, and all these other franchises where you can do the same thing to the gambling commission as well? There's some Zynga games that do the same thing too. Gonna report them? Are you just going to report every little thing you've ever seen in your life that doesn't meet with what YOU want, because I have to say... that's going to be a hell of a lot of reporting.
Random packs are random. It's not gambling. It's not throwing money away. You can easily earn enough in game credits to buy all the packs you could ever want. If you pay real money for them, that's YOUR fault.
Life's hard. Wear a helmet.
