Why didn't they model her acter her voice actor?

Because they didn't feel the voice actor fit the image. Simple as that.

Didn't fit her own voice? O_o

I think she would fit perfectyly. Besides she's hot like a Bollywood star. <3

Am I the only person who remembers Grunt describing Quarians as tough? Crispy, hard skinned? He says they're difficult to kill with a blade is what I'm getting at.

Just another thing about ME2 that was dismissed? File that one along with anderson was councilor?

Grunt was talking about the Turians, man.

I would pay to see Ash Sroka dress up as Tali.

Extra if it included burlesque, but I won't push it.

Multiplayer has been nothing but a plague to this game. Its required to get the "best" ending, and its not fun all it is is like a poor man's version of horde mode.

It makes me wonder what parts of ME1 were Casey Hudson's contributions...

He was the one in charge of designing all the different underground science facilities for the side missions.

and the way that biotics turn Shep into a ragdoll and your screen into a drug trip?

And quarians. His wording was deliberately vague, but grunt rattles off the names of a few species, calls them soft, and then says that quarians are "not so much." Hinting that quarians are a little harder to jam a knife with, but whether that means quarians theselves are tough, or their suits are grunt never says.

I have to question their skills and instincts as artists after they failed to recognize that the moment when Tali took off her mask on Rannoch was THE PERFECT TIME to reveal her face. I was sitting there waiting for it, everything seemed to be building up to it, then she reaches up to take off her mask, and...nothing. It kind of ruined the moment, actually.

I've said it before but it's worth saying again.

I think BW did plan to do the reveal there.  BW probably ran out of either time or resources and then had to either not do anything or do something quick & dirty.   We know what we got.

I suspect EA PR teams have indoctrinated Casey & Mac so that's why they're staying true to the company line :)

BioWare's "true" explanation will eventually be that Tali'Zorah can use Photoshop too. They just cut the dialog of Shepard's response to seeing the picture.

Shepard: "Oh Tali, that little joker. Hmm, it's not a half bad shop though. Fingers look kind of funny. Wish I had a real picture of her."

The Quarians resemble Humans far more than the Asari:

Quarians are generally shorter and of slighter build than humans.
Quarians have an endoskeleton, lips, teeth, and two eyes with eyelids
and tear ducts; they also have three thick fingers on both hands which
include a thumb, an index finger, and a long finger, similar to the
middle fingers for humans, as well as three toes on each foot. Quarian
facial structure and hair actually makes them the most similar to humans
in physical appearance. Their lower legs are bowed backwards
significantly, compared to
asari
or humans. Aside from hands and legs, their general body shape and
sexual dimorphism is similar to humans. Their ears or ear analogues
differ in a noticeable fashion from those of humans, with references
made to "what [passes] for the quarian version of an ear".

Apologies to the hardcore xenophiles among Talimancers who wanted their Shep to bang a hentai tentacle monster. It's 'canon' that they look like us, except for the leg structure, ears, and Turian-esque feet and hands.

In any case, I like the look they picked for Tali. I just think the photoshopped picture could have been done a bit better, since fans have put forth 'cleaned up' versions of that pic that look far better. And a 3-D rendering of Tali's face in the portrait would have been awesome.

If that's true (which is certainly possible), I think they would have been better off if they hadn't done anything at all.

And yeah, Casey and Mac are just being good employees. I can't blame them for that. But if they really didn't see that the moment on Rannoch was the ideal moment to finally reveal Tali's face, well...it wouldn't be the first thing that's made me question their artistic sensibilities.

Ignroing your insultingly ignorant comments I will just say this.

With that vague description you just easily described Drell,or other humanoid aliens like the asari aside from the hair of course.. That description was incredibly generic on purpose you silly billy.

This forum really needs an eye-roll smiley.

Let me get this straight, they didn't want to destroy the mystery of what she might look like.

Sooooo, they didn't go the the expense and modeling time to show her face in a cutscene.........but they did show her face anyway, via a stock photo.

Yep that makes sense.

It's not that vague at all. The Quarians, amongst all of the humanoid races in the galaxy, most resemble Humans. They have all of the Human characteristics, including hair. It doesn't say anything about scales, tough skin, or any of the reptilian features that would pertain to the Drell. If they had such, it would stand out. And be worthy of mention. The description of the Drell:

Drell are omnivorous reptile-like humanoids with an average lifespan of
85 galactic standard years. Drell appearance is very similar to asari
and humans, but their muscle tissue is slightly denser, giving them a
wiry strength. Although many of their more reptilian features are
concealed, their hyoid bone, located in their throats, is particularly
developed. This allows them to inflate their throats and produce vocal
sounds outside of the human range. They also have two sets of eyelids,
akin to crocodiles. In addition, drell possess the ability to shed
tears.

A clear difference in the descriptions. The Drell have features that stand out and makes them unique compared to Humans. In the Quarian description, the major differences are mentioned. There is nothing "vague" about any of it.

And by the way, my little joke was directed at those still b*tching about Tali not being "alien enough", not Talimancers in general, despite the Codex firmly establishing that the Quarians are the most 'Human-like' among the galaxy's major races. Know before you go, amigo. ;)

I honestly thought they had the quarian look figured out at least by Mass Effect 2, and decided to wait until 3. Needless to say, I was very disappointed.

When Tali was taking off her helmet on Rannoch, that would have been THE perfect opportunity to show Tali's face.

It would have been one of the defining moments of the game, I'm sure.

They should have not revealed her face at all if a really poorly done photoshop'd image is all they were going to do. It cheapened a character and mystery of a situation. They killed the whole Tali mystery with the same bad "choices" that gave us the ending.

If I could have them do something simple in the EC? delete the whole "Tali reveal" photo crap. We are better off not knowing if that was how they were going to do it.

I actually thought the trolling of the Talimancers right there was PERFECT.  Because, yeah, it looked like everything was leading in that direction.

Now, what they should have done is then follow it up with the reveal in the final romance scene just before Priority:Earth.
