don't forget Eve

Nah eve is fine. I thought it was bloody brilliant to differentiate her using clothes rather than face modeling. Of course I am unsure of the technical details behind the move, so I do not know if it was harder or easier to simply giver her clothes rather than an entirely different face.

They should either reveal her face as 3d model or keep it a mystery, yet they somehow managed to mess up both options and have choosen the worst possible way (that I wouldn't even think of).

"They couldn't please everyone" is just a stupid truism and a classic discussion killer; you can't make everybody happy, it's indubitable, but you can always do your best n put some efforts into what you're doing. They just went the laziest n cheapest route and this is not how professionals deal with their things, especially those dear to many. Bosh'tets...

There would have been far less complaint if they had just gone with that.

I could of bought "time restraints, lack of staff blah blah blah" if they photo shopped liz sroka's face. It would be a nice little nod to the fan base, and would of showed that they cared.

But no, they took the easy way out, and sadly, free *would of cost more money to get the face likeness*. Whats even sadder still, is and no offense to those who have made tali pics, have been out classed by people not in the industry and who drew stuff in their free time. I'm willing to bet alot of those tali fans would of been over joyed to have been ask to draw tali for free

Turian females have the flexbility, but no in-game model or appearance.

Am I the only person who remembers Grunt describing Quarians as tough? Crispy, hard skinned? He says they're difficult to kill with a blade is what I'm getting at.

Just another thing about ME2 that was dismissed? File that one along with anderson was councilor?

The Quarians resemble Humans far more than the Asari:

Quarians are generally shorter and of slighter build than humans.
Quarians have an endoskeleton, lips, teeth, and two eyes with eyelids
and tear ducts; they also have three thick fingers on both hands which
include a thumb, an index finger, and a long finger, similar to the
middle fingers for humans, as well as three toes on each foot. Quarian
facial structure and hair actually makes them the most similar to humans
in physical appearance. Their lower legs are bowed backwards
significantly, compared to
asari
or humans. Aside from hands and legs, their general body shape and
sexual dimorphism is similar to humans. Their ears or ear analogues
differ in a noticeable fashion from those of humans, with references
made to "what [passes] for the quarian version of an ear".

Apologies to the hardcore xenophiles among Talimancers who wanted their Shep to bang a hentai tentacle monster. It's 'canon' that they look like us, except for the leg structure, ears, and Turian-esque feet and hands.

In any case, I like the look they picked for Tali. I just think the photoshopped picture could have been done a bit better, since fans have put forth 'cleaned up' versions of that pic that look far better. And a 3-D rendering of Tali's face in the portrait would have been awesome.

Ignroing your insultingly ignorant comments I will just say this.

With that vague description you just easily described Drell. That description was incredibly generic on purpose you silly billy.

This forum really needs an eye-roll smiley.

It's not that vague at all. The Quarians, amongst all of the humanoid races in the galaxy, most resemble Humans. They have all of the Human characteristics, including hair. It doesn't say anything about scales, tough skin, or any of the reptilian features that would pertain to the Drell. If they had such, it would stand out. And be worthy of mention. The description of the Drell:

Drell are omnivorous reptile-like humanoids with an average lifespan of
85 galactic standard years. Drell appearance is very similar to asari
and humans, but their muscle tissue is slightly denser, giving them a
wiry strength. Although many of their more reptilian features are
concealed, their hyoid bone, located in their throats, is particularly
developed. This allows them to inflate their throats and produce vocal
sounds outside of the human range. They also have two sets of eyelids,
akin to crocodiles. In addition, drell possess the ability to shed
tears.

A clear difference in the descriptions. The Drell have features that stand out and makes them unique compared to Humans. In the Quarian description, the major differences are mentioned. There is nothing "vague" about any of it.

And by the way, my little joke was directed at those still b*tching about Tali not being "alien enough", not Talimancers in general, despite the Codex firmly establishing that the Quarians are the most 'Human-like' among the galaxy's major races. Know before you go, amigo. ;)

Actually you proved my point. The codex entries purposely describe the drell in direct detail, while the description proveded in the book is a bare bones, generic description of a humanoid, that describes a drell, or an asari, or hell a human!

The description of the Quarians goes into no detail at all mate, which is what I was trying to tell you. Pulling up the description of the drell only proves how bare bones the description given for the quarians is.

As you say, "know before you go, bosh'tet."

Actually, my point stands. Neither entry about either species is in the least big vague. There is as much detail for the Quarians as there is for any other species. Learn reading comprehension, before you start insulting me personally.

And speaking of which, watch the personal attacks. Disguising it in a fictional language doesn't fool me. Disagree if you want, but keep it civil. I don't appreciate being called a bastard or son of a b*tch.

It was by all accounts the worst choice they could make and they even said so themselves quite some time before release.
I remember a thread about 7-8 months ago when they were deliberating if they wanted to show Tali's face or not. They said something like on the one hand lot's of people want to see it, on the other hand, we might disappoint a lot so let's just keep the mystique of it being a secret. In the end they destroyed the mystique without really giving the fans an experience for it.
Well done guys!

I didn't do a Tali romance, but I liked her character. I think how they did this just smacks of laziness. It is possible they didn't have the funds to do it right, a rush job like the ending, but if they took the time to put Chobot into the game I believe they should have done a better job with an established character that a lot of the series fan like over some game reporter I never even heard of till ME3 came out.

Ok, I'm going to spell it out for them, nice and easy...

Just because, something is mysterious or unclear doesn't mean it's good... or "Artistic"..

Im totally OK with photo, but im not ok with lack of effort they used to this. Atleast show her face as 3D model in extended dlc instead of Liara's

What blows my mind is that they had the perfect opportunity for a modeled face reveal on Rannoch. She takes off her mask to breathe in the Rannoch air, and the camera zooms out from behind.

WHAT?

Zoom out from the front! It was the perfect setup!

Yeah was just so damn perfect situation, make it like movie style like when Genophage is cured. Tali takes mask off and camera shows her face when she takes first breath Rannoch air!

And how about a proper romance scene? If they made the model for the Rannoch scene maybe we would get a better than fade to black. Maybe even and actual kiss. And the aftermath of it all when he reaches up and gently touches her mask. Seriously it was like cringe worthy. She is used to him, one more touch would have been fine, I mean she spent the entire night in bed with him..

Yes, i actually waited to see that in last romance skene, Tali without suit, but no all we got was 7 second black screen while Liara got 10min full nude scene

They run into this "artistic" bull-talk just bacause they're too bad to come up with anything that's straightforward.

I don't understand why people did not want to see her.  I can understand not wanting to see someone like the Master Chief in Halo.  He is a single person, iconic and part of his mystique, and intimidation to his enemies, is not knowing what he looks like.

The Quarians are an entire race.  They have many individual personalities.  I never fealt that they had that same kind of mystique that Master Chief had.

Oh fork Casey and Mac - you are HILARIOUS!!
You honestly WORKED on that picture?
Like what? Google: brunette, sun, romantic?
Then did some work in paint (because it surely ain't professional work) and voila! Tali!

Don't bother with proper finger readjustment, just cut the last two...

For the love...

I mean from the media. They've vanished post-launch. Casey wrote a condescending post about the complaints, and that was it. Nothing from either of them since.
