I doubt this, for two reasons:

- They have elaborate cinematics and cutscenes already?
- Most of the changes talked about are punitive, and I doubt that's the direction the extended cut will go.

And why would somebody from the art department be playtesting the EC? Also, why would a self professed "art department monkey" be privy to the internal opinions of the writing team?
I call bullplop.

Sounds like crap.

Both the content suggested and the validity of the entire thing.

the worst part of all is that it encourages more speculation if the shepard alive scene is not expanded upon.

I'd rather hope it isn't.

And destroy as the crappiest ending is just stupid, the destruction of the Reapers has been the goal since ME1.

I agree with these two points.

And agreed with this too.

Remember that 4chan has been a continual source of misinformation and lies about ME3.
First the Truth DLC, then Terminator and that whole "Advent" nonsense.

The picture of the Resurgence characters came from a facebook post and not /v/.

They got one thing right, and that was LOTSB. Would be nice if someone would throw us a bone and tell us what really might happen.

Yeah, most likely false. Too bad though, this is just what I'd have wanted.

LotSB was fairly predictable given that a significant amount of Liara's dialog was already present on the disc.
People on BSN were predicting that too long before it was announced.

Again, I have mixed opinions. It is never a good idea to trust information from an "anonymous" source. However the gist of the posts would follow the "artistic vision" of the ending so I would say this makes it credible.

They "got it right" becaue the lead in data was on the disk for ME2, same with Kasumi.

It seems there is no "place holder" data for DLC on the ME3 disks though.

Almost anything is a more reliable source than 4chan

No way man you have to assume everything is true & complain about it.
4chan has only been wrong 95% of the time...well besides common knowledge or leaked info that was reposted.

To my knowledge the only thing 4chan has gotten wrong is "The Truth."

And this seems tali-photoshop levels of lazy so it feels about right.

Yep.  Booooo. They should have just scrapped that part altogether.

Would you really be that surprised? Love that chick, but most of what she says about ME is total BS.

So, the same source that sweared "The Truth" DLC will come out and we just need to take his/her word?

It would be tragically amusing if BioWare thinks "clarification" means "rubbing our faces in the stuff we've already assumed and have severe problems with" (yeah we know Joker marooned everyone on a planet and they'll have to start an inbred colony, THAT'S THE WHOLE PROBLEM).

But yeah this is fake.

That sounds like proper extended garbage alright. Give us the option to challenge the star kid (even though removing it is the ONLY thing that can salvage the ending) but don't change the ending 'choices'?

Seems to be on par with BioWare's line of thought these days.

If this is true, I just CANNOT with them anymore.

I've been angry, but I've been patient. I've politely made my points here and places like twitter and livejournal; I've posted in most of the "contructive critcism" threads. I wasn't pleased when they announced that they would keep the endings and only add "clarification". I'm far more than a little skeptical that this "Extended Cut" DLC will actually fix anything, but I'm waiting for it to drop so I can judge for myself if I'm truly throwing my hands up and walking away.

But this? This?! This would somehow make that screwed-up hot mess of an ending somehow even worse.

Dear God I hope it's not true (and it is 4Chan, so my chances of that are good). But the sad part, the really sad part is that I can't dismiss it out of hand because it fits everything they said they'd do with this DLC ("clarification", "additional closure", "keeping the endings" - God it was hard tacking an "s" on ending there...), and it fits the horrendous quality of what we already have in the ending to a perfect tee.

If this is true, BioWare and I are well and truly done. If this is true, it just proves they haven't been listening and that they don't care at all about what their fanbase wants or about what they as a company once were.

First, I wanted to post that this seems too ridiculously out of touch with the fanbase, even for Bioware, but then I realized I don't even know anymore what to expect from the devs. Sure, your squadmates start out a freaking colony, why not. Just the kind of closure people wanted.

This is in-line with what I read in the press release and FAQ. No new ending. Expanding on the current ending.

Yeah unfortunately while the source is most likely fake, you can't really say it's something BioWare wouldn't do, given their attitude. That's the really sad part.
