It puts me in a good mood when after about two waves into a match with a mic-less squad, everybody just magically starts working together. It doesn't happen very often, but when it does, it feels awesome. Thanks goes out to all those mic-less players that get it.

im mic-less but i always help. i find a buddy and stick with them. all tha time. and my next favorite thing is drawing aggro from turrets. seeing the virtual smiles on my teamates faces makes my dayImage IPB

Finally finding a lobby that was going for the squat goal after an eternity of lobby hopping. I was searching for Cerberus/silver and was hoping for an all Asari run, but any other race was fine as well, so I was really glad when I ended up in a room with two Turians. Changes immediately to my favorite of the two classes, the Sentinel (not drunk though) and a fourth player joined who changed, too.

The map was set to random, but luck (or fate) put us on Condor and with Palaven under attack in the background we proceeded to quickly dispose of those Cerberus bastards. With overload taking out shields and Phantom barriers everywhere, they didn't stand a chance, not against a squat that was fighting to defend the own home world.

Generous Demolishers put me in a good mood.

I searched for a few U/U/S PUG games tonight for some fast, guaranteed cash (since my friends were all occupied with other games). Got thrown into Wave 2 of a Reapers/Jade match with a Shadow, a Kroguard, and a Demolisher (Do you even have to ask which character I brought to the table? LOL). I saw where the Demolisher had set up her (I say "her" since I've no idea the player's gender, so referring to character's gender at this point) camp and I gave her pylon a wide berth. Even though a Turian Sentinel wouldn't end up even accidentally gobbling up her grenades, I know how twitchy Demolishers can get about people touching their pylons. So, I kept my distance from it, as a courtesy.

We all proceeded to take care of business. Good PUG group. Nobody died in ridiculously stupid manners or very often. We all rezzed each other as needed, were not afraid to burn consumables if necessary, and went straight for objectives. And we were working pretty well as a team to bring down the enemy. Always nice to get when everyone's running mic-less. I ended up topping the scoreboard, but not by a whole bunch. Everyone pulled their fair share of weight.

When we all got back in the lobby, I was encouraged to see that this group was fairly "young" game-wise (N7 not much past 120) and already doing quite well for themselves. Nobody changed characters, just loaded up and readied up.

Next match ends up Cerberus/Goddess. Immediately, the Demolisher and I make our way to the upstairs balcony where one can get a good view of most of the major spawn points. Right off the bat, the Demolisher runs up to me and plants her pylon literally in front of my feet, then backs off and goes to watch the opposite end of the room from me (near the ladder). Like she was silently offering her pylon to me to encourage me to grab all the ammo I wanted as long as I kept Killing All The Things like the last match.

Thought that was a very sweet gesture on her part. Image IPB

*brofist to that Demolisher*

Ragdoll physics on a Phantom after killing her with a Kishock. Blowing her out of her socks is pretty darn satisfying :)

I don't know why, but imagining that just got me laughing. Thanks.

Some character dialogue cracks me up. I capped an objective and after my destoyer said the usual "cover me!" , a fellow destoyer said " you heard the man."

This thread! Just seeing it on page 1 always puts me in a good mood, so I'm putting it back up there.

Something that put me in a good mood yesterday was the vanguard glitch, as strange as that sounds. I play vanguards occasionally, mostly off host, and after the charge buffs of the past weeks I've been wipping out my Asari quite often lately. Got a Talon III the other day and even though I don't like it as a pistol, it works gloriously as a fake shotgun in cqc, so I really love the combo with my AV. Yesterday's grenade buff was just the icing on the cake, really.

So anyway, I was playing some PUGs and landed in a Jade/Reapers/Gold game and at first everything went fine. As I said, I play off host, because people barely join my lobbies when I try to host, but I haven't experienced the vanguard glitch in months, so I didn't worry about it that much. I was in second place, died a few times, but even though it sometimes happened right as I hit charge, there was no glitching. But then on wave 8 (I think) I was in the very back of the upper level, down the stairs, with a banshee standing right next to me and I charged away from her just as she started to do her pick up animation. That did the trick. Luckily there was no remote impaling, but I completely glitched out.

At first I was just a foot high above the ground and could still run around normally, but an evasion maneuver made me fall over the side of the map, causing me to respawn at the LZ. I kept fighting and shooting as usual as I very slowly gained height, but as I kept running around, I landed in the tunnel right below the LZ and somehow I got stuck there. I couldn't even see my character anymore but I was hovering right below the ceiling and soon got the attention of the last banshee of the wave. She hopped over to me, tried desperately to grab me and screamed at me to get down from there, but I just laughed as I proceeded to unload my Talon into her. The rest of my team had come over by now, but she kept ignoring them, too focused on the Pinata just out of her reach.

Easiest non-missile banshee kill ever!

I should have stayed at that spot, but through some moving around I freed my self again, finally rising up higher and higher into the sky. Funny thing about the vanguard glitch, you can still use your grenades and with 9 grenade slots (grenade gear V) and still a few ammo packs left, it was enough for me to keep my second spot on the score board and everyone (except me of course) made it to extraction.

Now who said there was no time for aerial bombardment?

I saw a Youtube video about someone with a recently buffed Locust X on a Turian soldier. He destroyed everything. I tried it out, sure enough, amazing. Almost Hurricane status. I don't know why, but it made me really happy to know that a gun that used to be arguably the worst in the game to a definite contender.

Also I had the idea of using a Particle Rifle and Warfighter Package on my Demolisher, I just left my supply pylon down next to a Krogan Soldier as he chucked Inferno Grenade after Inferno grenade into hordes of reapers. Ravagers and Brutes were just melting left and right. Glorious.

When my Human Soldier totally shined in a PUG on Reactor/Reapers/Gold. I remembered a tip I learned from my solo efforts and it kept me alive when the Reaper units threatened to surround me an my team (don't let the enemy create a north and south pole when in a firefight). Using AR to put my shields back up and fire with extra power, I helped keep everyone alive and I soloed the end of Wave 10. Came in 2nd place, but with over 100K, I felt like I really shined in this battle.

Had a few games where we all just flowed like water... in fact one did involve me as an Engineer, Geth to be exact and I would run around stunning and launching turrets to distract.

A Justicar would pop bubbles around in defensive spots while a Shadow would help resurrect, I'd launch a turret right after. Our 4th player was a Turian Soldier, man he was awesome... just owned in that Turian badass way.

One of my favorite games ever, it was like a whole Shep-Liara-Garrus-Tali squad.

Had a good time with my man Creepter last night, even though it was an abbreviated venture (bad timing of the dinner bell LOL).

His Paladin and my Turian Sentinel took on two randoms for an U/U/S... got Cerberus/Rio. Had a good time doing my "Sit! Down, boy! Stay!" routine anytime an enemy was creeping up behind one of my teammates -- with the Neural Shock rank of Overload, anything unshielded drops to the floor as soon as I hit them. Particularly useful against those pesk troopers about to stomp-execute a downded teammate... hee hee hee, not on my watch! Image IPB

Also had a nice, badass moment when a Phantom thought she was gonna skewer our human soldier. I was nearby helping fill her with bullets when I saw him get hit with the initial melee from her sword. Seeing her health down to only two bars, but also seeing her spin around to impale him, I literally threw my body in between him and her and successfully detonated my tech armor to both save his life and kill her. Does not always work and I often get bit in my scaly butt doing that trick, but it always puts me in a good mood when it's successful. Image IPB

The icing on my good mood cake last night? Going on Facebook later in the evening and seeing the ME Trilogy announcement... and realizing that means PS3 will FINALLY get the first Mass Effect game (I had started playing a PC version on my laptop out of desperation) very, very soon. It wasn't the female Turians announcement that would make me wet my panties... but that ME1 to PS3 revelation did cause me to need a change of undies. Not gonna lie.

I always feel so good inside when I throw my GE's turret up with the Vanguards or soldiers, helping them tank and tear through the baddies. Then double back and make sure the laptop-hacker's shields are fully replenished during objectives.
But you know what makes me feel even better? When they return little favours like that in kind, by sticking together, helping detonate combos, etc. Teamwork is what can make this game truly great. That and an Elcor Soldier. ;)

When I see a turian soldier using the typhoon and uses marksman, the ability that speeds up rate of fire, and just thrashes EVERYTHING. Killing an atlas in just a few seconds must be fun! :D

We should re-do it properly as soon as possible.
With no dinner and no disconnects at Wave 10 (D'oh!). Only a possibly alcoholic turian and lots of rockets to my face.

Well, looks like we got you both a lot of rockets to the face and a properly drunk turian! Woo hoo!

And after Jager Bombs and beer all night, I actually woke up with no hangover or headache. Image IPB

I was put in a GREAT mood yesterday when I finally got my "Unwavering" trophy in the most unexpected of ways...

I'd played Borderlands 2 all day and was burned out on it, so I popped ME3 back in and wanted to try and find some Gold PUGs that weren't FBW/G/G.

First lobby I was dumped into, naturally, was FBW/G/G with three Demolishers who immediately readied up as soon as I entered. I politely saw myself right back out the door, waited a moment, and tried Quick Search again. This time, I could hear myself loading into a match already in progress. I brace myself, expecting to find yet another FBW/G/G. Instead, I was surprised to see Reactor. A quick check confirmed Reapers/Gold middle of Wave 3, with the objective not yet completed yet.

Excellent, I think. Reactor is the last map I'm missing an extraction on for Unwavering.

I run to find the rest of the group, killing things along the way. I see I have an Asari Adept, a fellow Turian Sentinel, and a Female Human Soldier. Despite my being the only one with a mic, apparently, the group appears cohesive and capable. We go on to rock a partial extraction and *ting* up pops my trophy. I thanked them in the lobby for inadvertantly helping me with that final map. LOL

Turns out, lobby is Unknown/Reapers/Gold and I stick around for the fun Female Human Soldier stays and switches to Turian Soldier. Asari Adept stays and switches to Demolisher. The other Turian Sentinel left and was replaced with yet another Turian Sentinel and I had to chuckle, as I almost NEVER see my own kind, but there were a bunch of Palaven's finest out in force in Gold yesterday, apparently. LOL

Had a great couple more matches before getting an invite from a friend for more Gold goodness. Was nice to find a very good Gold PUG, and I also felt pretty darn good about topping the scoreboard on one match... I don't often do that on Gold.

*fistbumps to good PUGs*

I haven't played online in a while. But have to say the teamwork has been good. I did get kicked out of my own game once though for taking to long to pick my weapons. I felt like I did something wrong in the game.  It is always nice to find players that love teamwork.

playing some great gold pugs today, being complimented on my playing (despite some shockingly bad decisions in game due to my inexperience in gold...) and making a couple of new friends who made a great team (so... many... revives...). Also, spending the majority of my Sunday playing MP and avoiding work...
