Katana, I spammed Recruits when I realized that its the best way to start getting X gear. I go up in stages now, Spam Recruits, when all at X and all character appearance options unlocked I then move onto Veterans, and so on. Failing a little at the moment though, want my damn Black Widow, I've got Widow VIII but thats not filling the whole in my heart reserved for the Black Widow or N7 Valiant.

Only cool thing about it is at level 10 and with the lightweight materials, it's practically a free gun to carry. Weighs basically nothing.

Probably my Avenger, back in the day when I didn't have much playtime or experience racked up. Maxxing out my basic weapons seemed like a logical idea.

Now, even when I don't use assault rifle classes much anymore, I still find myself coming back to it once in a while. It's a needle-shooter for damage compared to the Mattock and GPR, but it's extremely light and has the rounds to allow for damage/piercing mods.

I don't use it much anymore. Favor my mattock when I use a class with assault rifles. Halfway to X on my Black Widow!

Widow. Buying almost exclusively Spectre / Premium Spectre, so there we go. Still prefer my Black Widow II on my Infiltrators, or my Javelin IV on my Geth Infi :/

Geth Plasma SMG and Geth Plasma Shotgun are close to X though, and I use them extensively.

Katana, Predator or Mantis, I don't quite remember. If we are speaking about rares, I still don't have a rare X, but the Phaeston is getting up there.

The first usefull gun to reach X was the Widow, but I think there were a few in between.
