Given the lack of Participation in the new N7 event i guess talks aren't going very well :(

If they're even taking place at all. I'm starting to think they never were.

Here's what I don't understand: Bioware have repeatedly told us what Sony won't do, but nothing about what Bioware can do themselves. Instead of simply placing blame, why not be solution oriented and come up with alternatives? Unless someone shows me evidence to the contrary I refuse to believe there is NO other way we can earn this content.

There IS a way: Once all the events are over, and PS3 players miss all chances to unlock these things, they'll probably be offered as DLC. Which we'll be expected to pay for.

Hang on... if you bought the Collector's Edition you already have the N7 weapons in your game - so you'd be paying again to get something you already own. Kinda like paying for Xbox Live to access MP content on the game you already bought and paid for. XD

Oh but don't you see? This time it'd be to use them for multiplayer. It's completely different!

But but but, why would they give the bonus content to the other platforms for free but make us pay? That wouldn't mean it was bonus content no more either. LULZ. :wizard:

Status report, Bioware? I see we weren't even mentioned at all in the Exorcist announcement - not even a "still working on it".

Same old corporate bull**** - leaving their customers in the dark, behind-closed-doors discussions, etc.  We see how well Sony's "strategy" is working out...Sony Corp 1-year return is -44.98% :o

As Chris Priestly stated, "Negotiations are still ongoing and we cannot discuss the details as it is an ongoing business relationship."

That's not really an update, because we stated this previously. When we can give you more information, we will. Until then, there's isn't really anything we can say.

At this point Im tempted to let Bioware take more of my money by trading in my CE ME3 and my ME2 to just get them on PC where I have ME1 so I can A: play these weekends and B: do a full story from start to finish.   Im just not big on the FPS on PC anymore however I hate knowing that Im missing out completely on extra things that will increase the entertainment value of the games.

Ah well so far this has been the worse supported multiplatform version of a game on PS3.   I dont even feel this cheated about my COD elite status for PS3 since now the maps are pouring in.

Maybe Im missing something but I cant recall any other game or designer having so many issues supposedly with Sony over a multiplatform game other than having expansions come out slightly later than 360 version for expansions aka Borderlands.

@TullyAckland

If direct comments about the issue are unavailable, could anyone make a statement that would trim the fat, so to speak, and clarify the situation for all of us who feel that PS3 is simply being left behind?

The actual reason (technically or politically or otherwise) why PS3 has been excluded has not been clarified publically yet, and that information would go a long way with me personally.

I have been incredibly vocal on the Bioware forums about this issue, and you have to understand that the lack of clarification has not put Bioware, EA or Sony in a good light. This doesn't seem like it should have been an issue at all from a public perspective, and the fact that all details about it are being kept from the consumers who are asking for it only creates false assumptions and pessimism amongst us PS3 customers.

Please show this to someone who can offer an explanation that shows us PS3 customers some gratitude for buying your game, while respecting your company's need to maintain a relationship with Sony.

We absolutely understand that lack of clarification or details on issues never resonates well with anyone. We're not unsympathetic to that. If we could talk about the details, even slightly, we absolutely would. The most we're able to say is that "Sony will not allow us to run the same Multiplayer Challenges on the PlayStation 3 and we're in negotiations to open this up for our PS3 community".

While these negotiations are ongoing we really cannot discuss any of the details, it's important in a ongoing business relationship to not do anything that could hinder it's progress. If you'd like to reach out to Sony for comment and further details then you're more than welcome to do so - but from our side, we will openly talk about this further when we have a real update.

Thanks for clarifying this. Well, as much as you're allowed to anyways...

Just out of curiosity, should these challenges be opened up to us in the near future (hypothetically of course) then would we have to begin at the same point as the other platforms from a clean slate or could we retroactively earn the rewards we missed out on?

Cheers.

I...can't see that last bit happening. It'd be nice if it did though! :D

Also, this is the kind of dialogue we want. You've come and elaborated a bit instead of a quick comment and take off.

Can you answer why these issues with Sony and the PSN were not discovered before the game came out? IF not, people on your QA team should be fired. If so, then you sold us a faulty product. Your own people are on record stating there is NO difference between the PS3 version and others. Obviously there is. You have lost many consumers over this disaster. And I hope we can keep getting more and more to file complaints with the FTC for faulty software.

Tully, thank you for stopping by an answering our questions. As one of the few PS3 owners of ME3 I've been pretty vocal in these threads especially of late. And while I still hope for a resolution on a number of issues, I also trully appreciate you passing by and making a comment.

I feel that BW has underestimated how much an open dialogue can help promote goodwill with the community. Even if you don't have anything new to tell us, simply reminding us that you're still thinking of us and trying to help us is a positive thing. Additionally, while it is a bit late for this, it seems someone somewhere should have made PS3 owners aware of the fact that there was at least a possibility of not having access to the weekend events.

Last of all I wanted to mention that the ommission of "we're still working with Sony to get PS3 players going" on this weekend's announcement was very distressing to us in the PS3 community. Would be good if BW remembers to include it -if it is still true- in future announcements.

Haha well, my reasoning for the last bit is that unless I'm mistaken, the data for what we've done in MP thusfar has still been recorded so could still potentially be used with regards to these challenges. Either that, or the PS3 community starts at the very first challenge to catch up - which would be logistically much harder to manage I'd wager.

Mustn't think too far ahead though, nothing has been resolved yet. Time will as they say, will tell... stuff... yeah.

I posed this question on Twitter, just seemed to me that something got worked out, EA updated their ToS, and we all know Sony has to have the upper hand when it has to do with PSN.
twitter.com/#!/RichLando/status/195893826215358464
I may be far off here but the wording of the PSN side of things in EAs new ToS got me thinking. Not sure, honestly I'm just happy it got done, whatever it was and am thankful we can take part now. Thanks Bioware/Sony for letting this get done for PS3 players!!
