I've seen wayy too many projects from the EaW fan-base fall-through (even the best organized ones).
This project may not even really lift off the ground and even in the case that it does - it's highly unlikely it ever gets done. Even in the event that it does get done, it won't be created/finished for years.
So good luck with that. I have a pretty good feeling this project will be at a stand-still within 6 months to a year.

Unless you have a team of 20 VERY talented and dedicated modders this thing isn't going to get done. Plain and simple.

Way to show support.

Huraay for people like this who can't stand dealing with the brutal truth. Doing something like this is insanely difficult and requires a ton of dedication from a talented team. You just going in alone or with one or other other modders would NEVER work.
Why don't you go ahead an show me all those mods that have been released for EaW hmm? oh that's right - it will be a while. I'll be suprised if you find ONE that is a major mod like the one in this thread. I have EXPERIENCE in this field.
There is a reason why projects like this NEVER get finished and NEVER get anywhere close to being playable.
It takes months if not YEARS to make (genenrally years since people are doing this as a hobby and NOT as a job.).
Would you like to take a look at all the MAJOR mods that were never completed/released for the game?
http://empireatwar.f.../info/modcentre
I know all about these mods because I was hoping at-least ONE would have worked a few years ago.
The only one I think that is 'still' being worked on is IA2 (it's been YEARS since I've visited but the site is still up and the mod STILL hasn't been released. The sad thing is that IA2 STARTED in 05'!

No offense, but you must not be looking very hard if you
can't find any major mods released for Empire at War/Forces of Corruption. To
start off IA2 merged with Republic at War a few years ago. Republic at War has
been released. You can find it here: http://www.moddb.com...republic-at-war
You can also find several other active and completed mods here:
http://www.moddb.com...corruption/mods
Examples of released mods or mods actively working towards a release are Thrawn's Revenge, Halo Campaign Commander, FOC Alliance, Old Republic at War, Stargate Empire at War, Rise of the Mandolorians and the Legacy Era mod. All of the above are major mods that have replaced all or most of the content from the original game.
The page you were using as a source on FileFront is an outdated page that hasn't been updated since soon after the EAWFiles page was created. Some of the modders from those projects that failed on that page however still do have some involvement with currently active mods (primarily thinking of the Legacy of War staff).
I will agree with your point that projects like this take an immense amount of work. If you're dedicated however and have the ability to actually create the material you need for your mod then it's completely possible to make any mod you want. I would hardly say you need specifically 20 dedicated modders to make a mod. The Halo Campaign Commander mod has one staff member (with some assistance from a couple of Thrawn's Revenge members) and he's released a fairly complete land beta in under a year's worth of work.
@Original poster - Best of luck with your mod idea.

The code doesn't allow that - but you can have, for example, if the Reapers take Palaven they can make Maraunders, if they take Earth they can make Husks etc.Meetthekiller77 wrote...
how about if you manage to wipe out an entire race as reapers you can create a new class or something like that.
