Game won't even start up.

I installed ME1 and tried to play it, and it freezes at the Bioware logo. Sometimes I get a bit further in the logo, sometimes it's straight away. Sometimes I get to the menu. The furthest I've ever gotten is to the characterisation screen. I can usually shut the game down with ctrl-alt-delete, sometimes I have to retstart my computer.

What's the problem?

I have patch 1.2 installed.
