I liked Phantom Hourglass. Not one of my top Zeldas but not bad.

Spirit tracks is my fav mainly due to Zelda being of use for once. I should probably get round to wind waker since I already own it.

You've played one Zelda, you've played them all.. except for Wind Waker -- Wind Waker is best Zelda.

WInd Waker is amazing, it also has the best Link in the game, and the best Ganondorf. Your opinion on it's Princess Zelda may vary(best Princess Zelda was in SS, ST and OoT imo)

MM was the most unique Zelda.

MM was the most unique Zelda.
Apart from a rather unusual dark story from what can be expected from a Zelda game, it played exactly like Ocarina of Time -- If it had been released first then I might have thought differently. I did like the game a lot though.

The time loop plot and the mask transformation and their abilities made the experience quite unique compared to other Zeldas if you ask me.

I don't remember OoT having the three day system which changed how you tackled dungeons and side quest, having to remember and schedule when to do events that could only be done at certain hours or you would have to restart the whole three day cycle again. OoT also didn't have masks that changed stats, added features or changed you into a Goron, Deku or Zora that changed how you move, attack and how you could do puzzles. Also MM didn't have the
complete tutorial level>get three things>big event>do/get two/three/four things>big event>final dungeon.
Structure that OoT, WW and SS had(all three are still good games but MM change in structure does make it more unique)

Really the only Zelda game I disliked was Twilight Princess, and even then, by game standards it was still a very solid game, just for me a poor Zelda game. It did however follow Zeldas tradition of having an amazing ost.

I was too busy thinking on how much the game played exactly like Ocarina of Time to bother about superficial additions to the gameplay.
A day & night cycle isn't exactly innovative anymore than I'd argue Ubisoft's idea of "innovation" with their Assassin's Creed series is to add an extra hook to the protagonist and maybe some furniture rearranging and boat combat. Heck, the time limit nonsense was annoying and not a fun addition to the game. That's another discussion, of course, so allow me to drop it there.
It's the nature of Zelda and Nintendo in general, I suppose. Innovation is a lost concept long forgotten by the time Wind Waker was done.

My limited experience with MM was pretty cool, it seemed more fun than Ocarina of Time overall. Of course I also thought Link's Awakening was possibly the second best Zelda game so.... yeah.
I feel like the Zelda discussion generally veers towards the "style," when a really bright looking game can be really dark or vice versa. SS has been really unique and interesting to me so far despite appearing somewhat "bright."
