I'm surprised about how so many armors offer a +stam bonus... which is useless for an Arcane Warrior. I kinda wanted to play my Arcane Warrior as a battlemage, got myself the sword from the urn of sacred ashes quest, but I'm also using a staff. I read that medium armor is the best for an arcane warrior, but are there any armor sets that work best for AWs?

Or, possibly, could they implement an arcane warrior focused set in the future?

massive armor is best.

modders will (already have most likely).

Just to be clear, +Stamina items add to your Mana if you are a mage. I believe stamina regen also works for mana.

mana doesnt exist. mana is stamina renamed if your class is mage.

I'm a fan of Wade's superior heavy or massive.  Both give you a -25% fatigue when you equip the set, both look pretty cool, and either gives sufficient defense to make the AW all but invincible.  Basically, for my AW, I'm just looking for armor sets that give me -% fatigue bonuses.  -25% means I can cast an additional two spells before I switch to blood magic, which is definitely nice.

Juggernaut is nice for the resistances but I just can't stand the way that helmet looks for an Arcane Warrior.

so far blood dragon's armor and warden commander armor are the best ones for AW. the 1st one is a bit better but 2nd looks far more better.

Indeed. I just wish the item descriptions had been a bit clearer.

Given Warden Commander armour adds +50 mana, 0.5 extra mana regen, boost a resistance that AWs normally don't have much of and provides better armour levels, I'd submit that it's actually the superior armour. Blood Dragon plat only boots 1 stat that is of much use to AWs, the only real advantage is the health.

as well as the bonus to willpower from Blood Dragon and few others (higher armor rating).
but indeed I guess warden commander armor is the only true answer for AW (I've been using it myself).

Hmm... I personally didn't want to have a mage that consumes mana like rodents eat cheese, so I went with a more diplomatic Ancient elven armor... which turned out to be a bad idea. So sorry that I made a bad build with that one. At least I finished the game :P

To be fair, that armour is pretty good for the developing AW. First armour I wore when I opened up the AW class in the Elven ruins. 'Tis nice.

Just not anywhere near as nice as the explosively-awesome Warden Commander armour.

From what I understand, +stamina = +mana BUT +stamina regen doesn't = +mana regen.

Andruil's Blessing belt (or w/e the 100+ gold one is called), gives explicitly +1 stam regen and +1 mana regen, and I think this is for a reason.

But someone correct me if I'm wrong.

For an armor setup,  I'd take Blooddragon chest, Warden boots, and gloves of diligence.  Look ugly, but you get stamina, life, -fatigue, and a ton of armor that make up for the lack of set bonuses imo.

The Dead Coat of Arms shield is pretty awesome for an Arcane warrior because of the +2 stamina regeneration and +1 constitution. Also, looks pretty awesome with spellweaver and juggernaut armor equipped.

Incorrect, stamina regen does indeed =mana regen. I know this for sure because first of all I've seen it work and also because some pc player checked. I don't have a link to that thread though unfortunately.

For armour I like Wades Dragonbone Plate, looks good, good armour rating and the +4 stamina regen can keep SS up permanently as long as you don't cast spells(I use blood magic).

Are we talking about 360 or PC?

For 360 I used rock armor sustained power and didn't bother with armor.

For PC I would look at the available mods. I wear "Wings of Velvet," but there are some Arcane Warrior specific robes/armors.

I think King Cailan's armor is a serious competitor. Massive Wade's only gives you -15% fatigue but King Cailan's gives you -25% fatigue. All other stats aside that's kind of a huge deal. It means I can wear massive armor with about a 5%-10% fatigue cost depending on my shield.
