This isn't about the weight system. This is the result of wanting to carry weapon combinations not allowed.

We currently have 6 weapon slots, each dedicated to a particular weapon class. Sometimes I get pretty annoyed that I can't carry two weapons of the same class. We should really have the same 6 weapon slots, but each slot capable of carrying any weapon class. Here's why...

There are often weapons that serve the purpose of multiple classes. The most obvious one is the M-13 Raptor, which is both assault rifle and sniper rifle. Often I'd like to use it as an assault rifle, and still carry a dedicated sniper weapon. Or I'd like to carry a pair of M-13 Raptors, each with different mods...one with armor piercing and a scope, the other with extra ammo and extended barrel. I find the M-96 to be a very good semi-auto assault rifle, and with a scope, sort of a sniper rifle. However, the M-13 Raptor is a far better sniper rifle, and pretty close to just as good as an assault rifle. A pair of Raptors would be better than a mix, or just 1 of each. This would have no need to change the weight system.

Others might like to have two lightweight pistols...a sidearm on each hip has been tradition since the first pistol was made :) One with a different mod than the other. In this case though, I could see the fun of being able to fire one pistol in each hand at the same time (same exact model), and go in with both guns blazing (different topic, but would require being able to carry two sidearms). Or a pair of submachine guns, one in each hand :)

Why complicate the code by writing separate weapon code to each slot? Why not just give us the weapon slots and let us use what we want, generically? I'd love to carry the M-98 and M-13 at the same time, especially with random maps and not knowing where I'm landing.
