You sound happier now.  Glad I could help.  If you're ever feeling suicidal over the ending again I'm here for you.

Isn't 2000 less than 1% of total players?

Almost all Surveys and research samples small amounts of the population.

Imagine asking everysingle person who played the game his opinion, impossible.
Instead they try to get a reasonably sized and diverse group of people to get an idea of what the greater whole is.

2000 might sound small, but I've seen lower samples been used in official statistics.

Of course you ignore that they are scientifically done so they are a representative sample.

One more for the road, eh?

Well, re-establishing contact with one of my many wayward children always brings a smile to my face.

I post in these types of threads and look down on you because I think a lot of you should be better than this.  When I see problematic behavior and poor life choices I feel compelled to negatively reinforce them, especially in light of how much positive reinforcement that kind of thing gets here.

I have recently resigned as an internet doctor and taken up a career as an internet preacher.  I try and find reasons to think better of myself my belittling others, as it helps me forget the woeful measurements in my pants.  The worse I make others feel, the more the hurt goes away.

What kind of self-respecting clown abandons his schtick right at the end of the bit?  You're losing the audience.

She was smiling at your schtick and is lagging behind the actual bit.  She would be disgusted to see what you've become.

Thanks so much for speaking for me, Dr. Phil. I was wrong. You are clearly sent here by some higher power I cannot even comprehend to help us lowly mortals to ascend to something greater, whether we like it or not. I humbly ask for your forgivness, O Master. Hail, hail! *scrapes and bows*

Ooh, you're getting better at this, son.  I'd give this 3/10.

Now, for today's trolling lesson: A joke is only funny a limitted number of times.  The Translation bit was amusing, but it served its purpose.  You ceased fire on the OP, and it turned into a troll sparring match.  Once you'd conceded, the translation was done.  I hung up that hat and bowed out gracefully.  I mean, to burn you into the ground with one more merciless translation would have been poor form.  We were playing for blood, not death.

Remember, you can fleece a sheep every season, but skin a cat only once.

Remember this, and accept a graceful out.

I'm glad to see someone did a statistical analysis, but there is a problem. Your analysis is wrong, and its extremely sophomoric, and that is why it can't be taken as proof. (Its also the reason peer reviews exist in science, so that bad science like this doesn't move forward).

Lastly, I hope the people of BSN are smarter than to just take this at face value. I'm not advocating that you be for/against the ending. I'm advocating that you realize that this is a classic example of faulty science and statistics at work.

Have you read the last few pages?

We welcome any and all feedback.  If you have some time it would be great if you could elaborate on the problems as you see them, hopefully they can be addressed.  Thanks.

Unfortunately, I bet Bioware isn't goign to give a rat's ass about this survey ::P

True, but personally I believe that even a minor adjustment to something in the dlc that this report - and the follow up to come - contibutes to, will have made it worth it. If pre-knowledge of success were a condition of attempting to change things, a lot more things wouldn't change. I don't know if it will have any effect on the dlc or anything related from Bioware, but I do know not doing it would absolutely have no effect.

To be honest the brevity and definitive nature of your statements - unsupported by evidence - makes me somewhat suspicious, but I'll take your comments at face value.

"Your analysis is wrong": as you don't provide evidence I can't provide anything further to the discussion. Except obviously I disagree. The analyses are confined by the assumptions and limitations inherent in the nature of the issue we were trying to address. Sorry - nothing else I can usefully provide you based on what little you have set forth.

"its extremely sophomoric, and that's why it can't be taken as proof." So as I see it your argument is: it's wrong and 'sophomoric' - which I take as 'conceited and over confident of knowledge but poorly informed and immature'- definition from dictionary. Hmmm - well other than it's wrong because it's wrong, the 'sophomoric' doesn't prove anything. Assumiong so would be bad science. Something to be dealt with carefully and scrutinised - absolutely. And sincerely - please provide details - I really would like to improve what we've done.

"peer review": I have addressed this - can't say that you might be satisfied with what I said , but I can't say - earlier in this topic. This is not an article sent to a scientific journal for publication. It is not a technical paper. It is an attempt to transparently make some headway as to what are the major issues concerning those who don't like the current ending of ME3. There are numerous caveats and statement of limitations and issues within the document. I'm happy for it to be reviewed, and it's been made publicaly available if any one wants to do so. Is the data perfect? No. Is the analysis perfect - god no! We've tried openly in the doco to make people aware of the difficulties. At this satge I'm comfortable with the report as a product and that it meets its objectives within the limitations of the data and sample available.

"Faulty science and statistics": again without actual details I can't see what you want us to make of this. I try not to confuse 'wrong' and 'faulty' with limited, constrained and fit only for the purpose within those limitations.

Again - any constructive criticisms would be gratefully accepted. That doesn't mean 'positive' per se - just that as any criticism should be, it attempts to rectify, not destroy for the sake of it.
cheers
MikeC
