Okay, so anyone who collects statistics about the responses on Video games, movies, music an television should go home and rethink their lives?

It's statistics like these that make and break many forms of media, without these kind of number crunching the entire entertainment industrie would fall flat on their arse and make no profit what so ever.

This kind of number crunching is irrelevant if not done by professionals in a controlled environment.  This person didn't get paid to do this; the ending to a video game was just THAT integral to his life and mental well-being.  This person's life is not something you want any insight into.  If the ending doesn't change he might kill himself.

No, to make something professional and controlled you need Excel, a biased platform and a ton of free time.  If this was his JOB it would be different, but this is just a desperate plea from a damaged person.

I am adding something relevant.  Helping people is always useful. 

If you enjoy statistics you should probably stick with surveys that are conducted professionally.
