Gigamantis I don't see your point at all. No one considers modders to be crying for attention and they can easily devote 100s of hours to a single mod

Instead, the only real cry for attention I see is yours as you attempt to bomb the thread with ad hominems.

Great work, thank you for contributing your time and energy to giving the discussion concerning the ending a nice touch of professionalism and scientific analysis.  I like to think this is the kind of dialogue contribution BioWare can appreciate, or at the very least they should.

Also,

Modding is like gaming; it's recreation.  Anyone who spends 100's of hours modding because a video game ending mentally broke him is in a different realm of trouble.

Honestly, the whole retake movement is an impressive exercise in illustrating how emotionally damaged Bioware's fans are.

While I see Gigmantis' point, isn't it equally pathetic to post on the forums about how such a guy has no life etc...? I mean...just leave it alone if it bothers you.

This is a small part of my life.  Each post is around 3-15 seconds of my life, actually, and though I may come off as cruel and blunt I'm just trying to help this person.

who are you to say that the author doesnt find this as recreational? i kinda find it oddly ironic that you continually mention your baseless assumption of emotional damage as  you simultaneously show  your jimmies geting rustled. youre pretty c

Is anyone honestly surprised at this survey considering most of the people are from BSN? If you want this to actually have a semblence of neutrality, take it across the internet and not just here.

This place is so full of anti ending trolls it's amazing.

Gigamantis, who the hell do you think you are to tell someone how to spend their free time?? Seriously! Hey, you play videogames! You could have mowed the grass during that time. YOU'RE WASTING YOUR TIME ON THIS FRICKIN' BOARD, telling other people how they've wasted their time! Is it a lot of effort put into something ultimately vain? Sure, but so is the time you put into YOUR posts. So is the time you spend playing videogames.
Also, money is really a physical representation of time and effort. You put you 9 hours into your job, and you get paid for your effort. Then you spend your money to play video games. And since the games also require time, you're essentially paying double.

So, please. Don't act like you're in a position to talk.

If he were a true statistician he would realize how flawed his method is and how pointless his work was.  If he had an honest interest in statistics he wouldn't have done it like this, because he would've known better.  He has A LOT of free time and he needed to see his broken heart validated.

The objective of the poll was not to balance dissatisfied with satisfied, not because being satisfied with the current state
of play with ME3 ending is not a legitimate perspective, but because the purpose of this process is to clarify why people are dissatisfied. Consequently, this survey targeted only the segment of the population that had problems with the ending of the game.

I'm only wasting minutes of my time on this board while doing other things.  If I had created a 40 page synopsis of the OP's obvious mental failings you could rightly label me as obsessed and damaged.  What I'm doing here is showing a casual interest in the mental state of someone on the internet.  I'll be done with this particular exchange and it will be behind me very soon.

I'm just explaining to people why the OP isn't a statistician and thus wouldn't be doing this for fun.  This thread was just a clear as day cry for help.

Thanks to the OP for the infromation. Some interesting observations in there I didnt expect. And it was professionally done and presented - something that is never a waste of time.

Nobody can tell you what is and isn't a waste effort and you should be pleased with the results. I'm sure even the detractor on this thread has spent a lot of time trying to save a pretend galaxy from some pretend bad guys, so is really in no position to comment on how you direct your efforts.

I see people have been overfeeding a troll a little bit...

Anyway, nicely done survey. Hopefully it does some good as the devs are looking for how to best satisfy the fans.

Ah, designed specifically for anti ending people? Gotcha.

Thanks for the warning - first troll encounter is always exciting. A good point about the value of this work - if it helps the devs then its a useful exercise. I certainly was somewhat surprised to see the order of importance on a couple of points, at least compared to the general flow of conversations.

"I'm going to imply that I have a very busy social life, when I'm not at the gym.  Please, feel free to assume that I'm better than you, even though we're doing the same things.  It's not insecurity, it's confidence, I swear.  In this next sentence,  I'm going to engage in thinly veiled ad hominems to excuse my barely veiled terror at any word longer than six letters, or any number higher than four.  I'll now imply that you're crazy, without actually calling you crazy, since that makes it better.  Finally, as I realize that larger fish will surely come and pounce on my claims, since the mob I'd hoped my inspired writing would generate has FAILED to materialize, I'm going to pretend that I have other things to do, while I hope others forget that I'm a tosser.

PS: I'm a tosser."

Like the OP just said, this poll was not intended to be an unbiased poll of how many people liked the ending vs. how many did not like it.  It was intended to gather data about the people who are upset about the ending to try and clarify what exactly their issues are.  As such, random sampling is less important.  Normally, polls like this get distorted because only people who have strong feelings one way or another take time to fill them out, but in this case, the poll was intended to gather data specifically about people who had strong feelings on the matter.

I never implied that I have a full, busy social life.  I've only ever implied that overzealous devotion to the ending of a video game is a HUGE indicator of someone having severe emotional problems or a desperate need to be acknowledged for ANYTHING.  I can feel bad for you without being perfect myself.
