I just replayed ME1, and I have to say, overdone weapon customization notwithstanding, I enjoyed myself immensely (5th PT).
Those were the halcyon days...think about it:

--We didn't have to worry about how the trilogy would end; of course, it would be epic!
--There was still plenty of time for Commander Shepard to stop the Reaper scourge.
--Everyone was still alive (if you made the "right" choices) and possibly could help you in the future.
--There was hope for the future...surely, this time we would get it right, and end the Cycle once and for all!

I am still flying high on that image, and refuse to think of ME3 ATM.  Life was good!
