Lets just completely ignore that.... oh and the fact hunter mode allows you to see through walls to snipe even better.

I like Prox mine, however, you cant really take it on a GI, you really need to max your fitness or you die very very fast in hunter mode.
If fitness defines your survival ability you should practice more on kiting.

You're doing it wrong, OP. Geth Infiltrator does not need sniper rifles to be the most damage dealing, oped class. And proximity mine IS quite useful, especially on Gold. But I leave the rest for you to figure out.
I don't use mine at all. I use a GPS with maxed out Hunter mode and cloak. The last 3 silver matches I have outscored the 2nd place by aroun 15000 to 20000

Or, alternatively, I didn't hear you over the sound of his GPS destroying everything utterly.

On silver (any enemy) there is no question in my mind that this thing is the best brawler of them all. It has the a super powerful melee that can take out four strong enemies at once. There is nothing else that can do this with the same consistency.
I just finished playing a silver match on Hydra where the hack objective is over by the orb room but out on the deck (far left of LZ). We make tracks for it and I have the radar vision on and can see two nemesis, one phantom, and a combat engineer all moving together. Plus one trooper slightly behind them. I get on the end of the wall, cloak and fly a proxy mine at their feet and they are all dead in seconds. Even staggered the trooper enough so when I came out of the melee I blasted him for good measure. Five enemies. Eight seconds. Even biotics would have trouble doing that when soloing it.
It's so terrible it's good.

I actually do something similar w/ my GE too - pop a turret in ahead of me (specced for shield regen) and then run into the mob and heavy melee.
I love melting baddies!
Geth classes both ROCK.

I like it a lot better this way. It lets me focus on just the my run/gun and stealth. Hunter Mode always on, specced for fire rate and sight range. The class passive specced for capacity, headshot and weapon damage, Fitness for defense and Cloak for damage, recharge and sniper damage.
I ran some matches with the GPS and the extra defense over the Prox Mine is huge.
I found that the heavy melee is also quite good which makes me wonder if speccing melee damage in Fitness would have been a decent idea in addition to swapping my Smart Choke with a bayonet.
The good thing is that I can swap in a Valiant or a Widow and he's just as set up for that as well. Can't wait to get the Javelin.

Base damage of 960, 4s cooldown with GPS, 2 meter radius and it debufs enemies by 20%. Hunter mode gives it a 20% recharge bonus and a 40% damage bonus. Cloak, shoot the prox mine, blast with the GPS. Really works. You end up with a 2 meter wide blast that debufs enemies and hits like Ballistic Blades
I still need to experiment more. Might be better off with an actual sniper rifle. Don't have the Javelin and there isn't a Geth Pistol

Tactical Cloak, Hunter Mode, and Proximity Mine.
Essentially, it could be a great class, but there isn't a skill that would help with your sniping.
No cryo, no overload, no energy drain, not even incinerate.
Proximity mine doesn't freeze your opponent, so what kind of sniper is that?
The hell you smoking? I have a friend who always is in the top 2 with the GethInfil. You just suck with em.
Edit: And on Gold/Reaper Runs.

Pro tip- use a gps and get the geth damage boosts and hunter mode damage boosts, use with rank 5 prox mine debuff- own gold.
Worst case get your favourite javelin or widow and wall hack.
Best infiltrator in mho.

No need to pile on the insults. SI is still way better than GI. Dealing more damage is fine, being made of wet paper isn't. It's a trade-off. The GI isn't bad, but he's not exactly fantastic either.
However, any gun you slap into the GI turns into pure, undiluted rape. I am more traditional and just use a Valiant, but even then it's so godly it feels unfair, even Banshees drop like flies. For me it's not a very compelling class because it's so god is not challenging at all.
tl;dr: you must be joking.
