Disclaimer:   This is a wishlist for people who enjoyed both games. Do not think the worse thing in gaming is having
Felicia Day and Jessica Chobot have speaking roles in the game. (I still have no idea who Jessica Chobot is) Do not think that every bad thing that happens with Bioware is because EA is some cigar wielding villian poking Bioware employees with a electrical prod and screaming, "Profits! You must bring me profits!" This is also the wishlist for people that realilze a game cannot fulfill the holes in your life. It is just a tool to find relaxation or escape from the day to day life.   Disclaimer    I have been rping for thirty years. I divided this up into questions that I want answered, characters I want seen, and misc.

1)Questions that I want answered.

  a) Who was the old lady that Sandai saw at the end of his bed?
    B) How does Sandai keep kicking butt?
    c) Morrigan's baby, and how are the writers going to satisfy the different baby's dadies and people who died instead of performing the ultimate sacrifice.
    d) Who are the Friends of Red Jenny? (People with fetish for quest giving)
    e) Will you let people who did not buy Asunder know some of the details of what happenned in the First scene. I did not know the Seekers have rebelled against the chantry and the fate of Wynne.
f)Can you please recognize that some of us have Alistair executed. I know we never see his actually being executed, but can we atleast get some recognition of the act.
 2) Characters I want seen.

a)Queen Anorna or exiled Queen Arnona
    b)Charade
    c)Tallis
    d)Varric
    e)Loghain
    f)Morrigan
    g) Flemeth
h)A desire demon companion. If we can have Justice, Vengeance/Anders, ..we should have our desire demon companion.
i)Good cameos. I actually like the cameos in Mark of Assassin. Even the awkwards ones.
3)Misc

  a) I like the look of the elves. They looked like a different race instead of really skinny and short humans, but the texture of some of their skin did seem off. Like it was leathery or weird looking in certain spots around the eyes and nose on certain elves. Not all of them, but certain of them. I still like the fact they look less human and their own race.
   B) Can the game go back to mature scenes. I did not notice this until I read it on another thread, but I do not believe the graphic scenes have been toned down in your games.  I like to know that this is game that children should not be playing. I noticed the samething with Mass effect 2 to Mass Effect 3.
   c) Can we please be able to use the PS3 screenshot capabalities to post our protaganists on the forums.
d)Can we still have more politics, but can we be a major player in the game. Can we be one that is doing  the double crossing, and the manipulating.
  e) Can we be named Emperor or EmpressImage IPB? If we are putting the society back together, I would like something more than the Elder Scrolls armor and then you disappear into the chronicles of history
   f) Can we at least see a female Quanari?
g)This probably does not need to be said, but there has to be a summarization.  I think you can get a good wrap up, and still leave room for DLCs.  Again, just make us Emperor or Empress.Image IPB

Updated:
1)What decisions would like to see carry over into Dragon Age 3 and beyond.
2)Can we get an older female LI or would that be a turned off? Lol, not for me.
3)What would you like to do in a game that you have not done yet?

More Varric please! There are so many characters that I love in Dragon Age but Varric is just way ahead of the pack so I'd definitely love to see more of him!

First off, very good first post. I agree with almost everything you mentioned, especially the cutscenes.
Having characters keep their underwear on in (not even that explicit) sex scenes is just bowing down to the prudish American rating commitees, who are fine with all the blood and gore otherwise and would give Saving Private Ryan a 4 and up rating if they had it their way. That's your right and artistic integrity of telling a story. Same goes for blood and gore. Even the Lord of the Rings trilogy had it's very, very violent moments that did fit in the larger overall theme. Game of Thrones proves explicitness in larger context is VERY appealing.

OT:
What I'd like personally are the following things:
-Keep working on the fighting system. DA2 was very good, but it only showed it's complexity while playing a rogue. Try to find a balance between DA:O and DA:2.
-Lose the 'back up' system of DA2. Every fight became very repetitive that way. Fight a group, wait for back up, fight again.
-Don't give up on the storytelling principle of DA2. I found the 'Varric is telling it' very nice. Could use some more 'exaggeration' from the narrator though.
-Being able to dye, design our own armor. Maybe 'steal' the Guild Wars system where you have an item set that's responsible for the 'look' and one for the stats. It will increase the 'involvement' players feel.
-Make sure party members can fulfill every group task you can think off. Learn from Mass Effect 3. Almost every group combination worked, where in DA2, you were always stuck with Anders. Give a rogue party member 'healing by throwing flasks' stuff, or you could add more characters anyway.
-Robes and capes. Make it possible for us to hide our face in a cowl, or put a coat or robe over heavy plating.
-Parallels with the real world. We know the Orlesians are the 'French' and Isabela is somewhat Spanish. But maybe throw in some German, Dutch, Chinese in? The cameo of John Cleese in Jade Empire did wonders, why no repeat that?

For the rest: Good luck. The pressure is on you guys after DA:2 and ME:3. I still have faith you can turn this all around and put Bioware back in it's seat of nr.1 game developer once more.

-Bring the race options back(Elf,Dwarf and even Qunari and Bioware if you make elf character with Dalish origin you will have my eternal gratitude)
-Bring the Wardens back(ı want to play as a Grey Warden but its unlikely ı know :( but still )
-Bring the Oghren back, yes he is forgotten by most fans but ı still remember him and he is my fav companion in entire DA series also there is no harm in bringing Leliana back(and if you bring Leliana back make sure she is a LI)
-Choices that matters(Bioware mentioned that they will do this on PAX but there is no harm in reminding)

Shift back to Origins inventory - Now I'm not talking a complete jump back but why can't my mage use a knife? I mean really what's keeping my mage from picking up and using a dagger, or my Warrior from using a bow. Go back to equipment restrictions being based on stats and have class/specialization restrictions be the exception. That's one thing I've always loved in RPGs I can generally do whatever I want regardless of class I just can't do it well.

Arcane Warrior - Bring it back it rocked.

More non-dress mage attire. Seriously I'm sick of every fantasy RPG forcing my mage to run around in a dress, DA2 was awesome like that.

I agree that Arcane Warrior needs to be brought back, and weapons do not need to be class specific, and I hate the robes too. Actually, I am not even fond of the staff either.

Racial options, and ideally the option for those who choose to play mages to begin as other than apostates if they wish.

Nice mage robes/pants and the return of dashing rogue cowls.

The Warden, done in a manner that is workable and satisfying for all (as the devs have mentioned bringing a former PC back would ideally mean being able to do it right)...in the hopes of potentially reprising them in a future game (which, IIRC from the Mark Darrah thread some weeks ago, may be a possibility after DA3).

Nugs, and more Orzammar in general.

Female dwarves.

I'm ok with the staff because it's iconic and functional.  It'd be different if we had a wand or something but a staff works both as a mage/wizard staple and as a weapon (you can hit people with it).  The robes are just iconic, there's no way anybody is going to think it's a good idea to run into the situations Hawke, the Warden, or any Fantasy RPG Hero does wearing a dress, and don't tell me those things are easy to move in I have 3 sisters I know better.

We HAVE seen a female qunari.

That was Tallis.

Considering how long the existing DA games have been out, It's past time for people to get it straight that qunari is a religious, not a racial, classification. :P
Since you clearly meant "can we see a woman of the same race as Sten?" well, that would be a Kossith, then, not a qunari.

Anyway, I'd like to see a female of that race, too.

Your character will be a villain protagonist known as "The Demon Who R.apes The World." Every choice will lead to a horrifying conclusion, where Thedas turns into a charnel house. But there are many ways to destroy the world. Do you sacrifice every living creature to the darkspawn? Do you subject all humanity to Qunari mind r.ape? The choice is yours!

I want to see Tallis too. Image IPB For the record, I do not want to a brood mother Kossith. that would be too scary.

I guess I  would be better off with the staff if either a)Rogues could use it b)IOr if people see you wearing a staff and ask if you are a mage. or show other people using a staff that are not mages. I think both games did bad jobs with intergrating mages into the games.

True but that's all fantasy games really. It's never difficult to spot the wizard. Though I've thought of another wish for the list; greater weapon variety. Right now we've got Sword and Board, Two Hander, and Dual Wield for melee and I'd really like to see the inclusion of Polearms, or like you suggested just a plain quarterstaff. While I'm at it could we bring back crossbows for the archers?

Melee weapons we've got 3 speeds; Dual Wield does low damage at high speed, Sword and Board moderate damage and speed, and Two Hander high damage at low speed; it'd be nice to have some archer variety. You could just have the two with bows doing less damage at a greater rate than crossbows or you could go for 3 options; Simple, Recurve, Crossbows.

I'd like to be able to speak to characters outside of their special locations.

I'd like big, varied locations to explore, good fantasy cliches like magical woods, snowy mountains, deserted temples, you know the stuff.

Lose the Varric-style DA2 narration, I love the character but this device reduces immediacy and involvement if you always suspect you're not seeing what really happened.

The main character is going to be voiced: please work hard on casting. Maybe a little less posh and stiff than in DA2? (Although both actors did good work.)

Please don't concentrate on the conflict between mages and templars, unless that's just an intro to deeper and more dramatic stuff in the meat of the game. Maybe I'll be proven wrong, I just can't see that being big and fun enough to cap off such a dramatic series.

Give us conclusions to the Morrigan-related loose threads. In fact, as much Morrigan and Flemeth as we can possibly get.

Don't you dare try to resurrect Fenris after my gleeful slaying of him!

Good post.

One observation with point 1.e however.

Dragon Age seems to be heading down the Star Wars route in terms of cannon.

There seems to be G-Cannon (game cannon) and N-Cannon (novel cannon)

In this case Wynne can be killed in game and not be involved in defeating the blight in any capacity. Also it couldnt be argued that they cant pull a "Leliana" with Wynne and have her survive being killed by the player as too many references are made in Asunder that set Wynne up as helping the Warden defeat the blight. (Shale, her staff, the blight scene in the fade to name a few)

That said referencing the novels would be pretty awesome, i personaly would love to see Rhys, Adrian, Cole or Evangeline appear in the next game.

Personally i dont mind if there was official cannon. It doesnt effect my enjoyment of the game and it allows the media to entertain me in other ways. Prior to playing The Old Republic i played both KOTOR 1 and 2 following the "cannon" route and then read the Revan novel. I still enjoy all three games.

Slightly of topic there but some things i would like to see in the next DA story-

Varric as a party member
No celebrity cameos (im looking at you Miss Day and you Miss Chobot Image IPB)

Bring back Shale

Voiced protagonist

Full customization- yes the new thoughts on follower customization do look good but to be honest i want to pick my teams iconic appearance myself
(check out my DAO party selection screen- http://social.biowar...1231836529.jpg )

DA2 combat style with DAO tactics thrown in

A good ending (sorry...)

ummm I want my Warden :P (I liked how Awakening did it where you could play as YOUR warden or some new guy)

So the option for YOUR warden or a new guy as PC.

If that cant work... let me make my own hero like in DA:O with the option to be dwarf, human, elf etc.

DA:O style conversations, I liked being able to talk to companions anywhere.

Companions I'd like back

Morrigan (Only if WArdens the PC though)
Varric
Zevran
Alistar( I know, unlikely)
Sten...

The more I think about it though... Do I really want my old beloved companions back helping out some random new guy? I dunno... after Bioware gave us Mr "I **** everything up" Hawke i'm not really sure If I want companions I liked associating with the new doofus protagonist bioware is likely to give us.

(I'm biased though, I found Hawke to be the most unlikable protagonist bioware has ever added)

1.The protagonist to have a charming Orlession accent
2.More persuasion through charm or intimidation
3.More Qunari involvement if possible (I really like the Qunari they aren't like anything I've seen before in any story)
4.Slightly mature romances like a noble family's daughter/son
5.Slightly better companions, a more desirable mandatory companion instead of Aveline.
6.Steve Blum voice appearance

Just finished DAII (it was actually pretty good, not as good as DA:O. but still...) and the thing I missed most was that I couldn't gear the companions. Armor upgrade system was quite interesting, but I had to ditch load of equipment just because I couldn't use it, and I hate when a have to do this. So I would be glad if we got back fully gearable companions.

Questions I Want Answered:

1) What happened to the Old God Baby?
2) What happened to the Warden?
3) What happened to Hawke?
4) What were the Grey Wardens focused on during Act 2 of DA2?

Characters I want to see again:

1) Alistair - I wanna see him ruling Ferelden, or whatever he's doing
2) Loghain - if he's alive, I'm interested in his take on the current going ons
3) Flemeth - I want to know what she's up to
4) Anders - need to see what my favorite mage fanatic is doing in the war he started
5) Morrigan - for OGB reasons
6) Sandal - just cause

Characters I never want to see again:

1) Tallis

Misc:

1) Bring back coercion
2) Keep the combat lively like in DA2

So many good posts:
DPSSOC:
More weapons would be cool.

jsadalia:
I agree with you on seeing Morrigan and Flemeth. I agree with that Bioware needs to stop resurrecting any characters that you killed. Unless at the end of the game or the scene, they die you see that somehow they are still alive. I am cool with that.

EverynameIwantisfekintaken
:I want Shale back too, but as a dwarf. (She can have a new name, and you want know it is her until she starts killing pigeons.) I respectively disagree with Chobol and Day being used, because they are not celebrity voices, they are people who actually play video games being used inside a game. As cool as Claudia Black, Martin Sheen, Kate Mulgrew, and Keith David are, I doubt that they have ever played any Bioware games before they started voice acting in them. They might not have even played a Bioware that they voiced acted in them, so I do not mind having them in the game.
Vexille:
I think you can still have Morrigan in the game without the warden
Karlone123
I like Aveline as my companion. I did not go on every playthrough with her in my party, but I think she was a cool companion. More persuasions would be great, and also still want your companions to be able to assist in the persuasions and charms too.

The Grey Warden's mission is Act 2 is a good question.
