Yes, Cassandra is the Seeker in Dragon Age II, I wasn't disputing that. I was saying that it is not confirmed that Cassandra will be a companion in the hypothetical Dragon Age III.

More variety in nps clothes. if just know we will go to orlais. So I want to see the ridicualous formal attire of the nobels.
Never go to kirkwall:sick: again.
Let us dye armour.

Hah, I guess that goes to show what different tastes people have - because I thought the elves in Skyrim were rather rattish. Very pointy faces.

Yeah, but why would they spend all the money on making a Animated movie about Cassandra if they are not put her in it Dragon Age 3?

Well, first of all, I want long hair. I don't care if it goes under certain armor. I want LONG ponytails (with bangs please). Both of these for men and women. I'm tired of being limited to short hair (I play on consoles, so no hope of modding for me). I think it was Dragon's Dogma that had like 30-40 different kinds of hairstyles, so please give us this.

Another thing, though I think Bioware is going to do this already, is that I would like to be able to paint the pieces of armor myself. Don't get me wrong, rainbows are cute and all, but I can't make a serious character looking like Rainbow Brite. Not only will it make different pieces of armor look uniform, but it will separate my character from the companions and NPCs that also happen to wear the same clothing.

I want more conversations with companions like in DAO, even if they have certain time restrictions. In DAO they had a lot of conversations, but you could also talk and romance a person in one long conversation, which seems unnatural. In DA2, they are more spaced apart, which was nice, but there were too few overall. So, I would like more conversations like in DAO, but spaced apart to go with the story like DA2.

I know this sounds crazy, but this is the BSN forum.  I always create one protaganist that looks like my wife, and she has bangs too. I want bangs too, and better faces without having to use a mod.  The conversations really need to be a combination of both games.  I also want the banter of Dragon Age 2. I enjoyed that a lot more than Dragon Age: Origins banter. I would like to see the combination of npc talking like in Mass Effect and Dragon Age 2. I loved how when you walked in on a companion, they were talking with another companion. I like how they talked about their dealings with each other. It does work. I think it brings a greater reality when the companion's lives don't revolve around your character.

I would love to see this done. Orlias is supposed to be a land of intrigue. I would like to see more of that. I don't mind playing a pawn in the political game, but I would like the ability to also have my own pawns. (Not a reference to Dragon's Dogma)Image IPB

Also,  I wonder if they could tie the "fetch quests" to the intrigue and politics in the world.
It might make  the "fedex quests" more interesting. You want to frame someone for a crime, then you send your minion on a  "fetch quest" to get it done. I think if the "fetch quests" were not assigned to the main protagainst, but to some minion, then it would meke them a littile bit more interesting. It should not be a companion, but a minion.

Locations: The Golden City, Val Royeux, Cumberland, The Darkspawn's place of Origin and The Anderfels Weisshaupt Fortress. (Older Locations)

Choices: Keep/Reform/Obliterate the Chantry, Free the mages/Commit Genocide on the mages, End/Help Flemeth, Give the Old God a moral direction to go in, assuming he/she exists. End/Help Morrigan, assuming she lives. Destroy/Join/Other Qunari.

Customization: Races, classes same as before but new Origins, Barbarian, Mage Dwarf, Warden Veteran Long past his time etc... Or continuing on from existing character.

Companions: Friendship/Rivalry system, whoever for the companions as long as they're well done.

Combat: Keep all classes like they are in DA:O add more feats and make it slightly faster, but keep the mages as they were in DA2 mages need to be overpowered otherwise it's counter immersive.

MUSTS: Mention of Hawke, Warden, Previous choices, Variety in loot.

I ) You know the more I think about the origin concept in Dragon Age 3 would work, because I think of various factions that are experience change: The Crows, The Seekers, The Mages, The Templars, etc....I think it would work, but remember Mages can't be dwarves. If they are going with multiple Origins, then I would like for it to have bigger impact on story than a few lines of dialogue.

Anders? NO. I stabbed him in the back. I'll give Flemeth a pass for the reincarnation but Anders better remain dead.

Basically for characters that can be killed (same with Loghain and Alistair) the best you can hope for is a small cameo. Otherwise it is too much investment to create content that may not be used by many.

Certain killed leliana but we see her at the end in asunder.
I want less dependency on mages for healing.
Have dialogue of main charactor be chosen not have vast amounts of auto dialogue.
Have many settlements that have their own character.

I believe if a character is going to make a "ressurection" in a future game or DLC, then use the old "Soap Opera" trick that if you never see their dead body, then they can come back. Eventhough I do not want to see Anders again, he was a mage that specialize in healing people. If anyone can cheat death, then it would probably be him.
Can the Codex have more canon information from the novels?

I think Dragon Age 3 needs to firmly establish that the Dragon Age franchise is about more than the Grey Wardens and the Darkspawn for the very vocal people that still think that every game must deal with the Grey Wardens fighting the Darkspawn. (I know a certain video reviewer that thinks that way.) I think they already done this, but I understand that some people don't understand that they are many interesting factions in Thedas.

LI should be equal in number. There should be just more options. I think that the LI does not need to be your companion for it to be a convincing LI. It is just dialogue. Like Traynor in Mass Effect 3, she is not a squadmate, but she is LI. She is just  as rounded as some of the squadmates.

I did mention this before, but what decisions would like to see played out in future games:
1) Landsmeet decison
2) Godbaby decision, Who's the baby's daddy? and Ultimate Sacrifice
3)Future of Wardens and Blight decision made in Awakening.
4) The side that Hawke supported
I have to think of others.

-Bring back the characters origins like in DAO and maybe add some more like Qunari, Templar, crow, please bring back something similar to human noble also especially if it's in Orlais but no imposed character like Hawke
-Choices from the other games need to have a greater impact than in DA2 where it didn't do much appart from triggering some cameo appearences.
-Gattering an army would also be nice
-More on the Grey Warden since they remind me of the Night's watch and they are sick, maybe learn about what they searched fro in the deeproads (personnally I think that lyrium in which the idol was made is the cause for the darkspawns to search for archdemons because of the "music" like Bartrand and the Matriarch complained about but that's only my theory :P)
-Bethany and Varric would be nice LI
-How about war between Ferelden and Orlais? Though it might switch the focus from the Templar/mage war so it might not be such a good idea.
-Dwarves, either visit Kal Sharok or discover another city which had been forgotten.
-Combat should be as strategic as DAO but as dynamic as DA2
-I don't think Dragon Age 3 is supposed to be the last of the serie but if it is there are still 2 archdemons so maybe a super-blight with the two at the time... but I hope it is not the last.
-Info on whether Sebastian reconquered Starkhaven or not
-friendship system is good, maybe add a reputation level like in ME3
-Enemies should already be present on the map like in DAO, no backups.
-Dialogues like the ones from DAO, I think it fits the game better than the ME style dialogue option

Annie Potts is sixty, I want my older female romance. :)

chri1608:
I like some of your origins ideas just because there are so many factions that having civil conflicts that can richly explored by the origin concept.
I wonder with choices, if you made a choice and limited your content in the game would that be a bad thing. I know in Mass Effect 3, you can play the game without Garrus, Tali, or Miranda and that does limit the game, but how much actual game time does it take away from teh game. Would people be upset if the lost twenty or thirty minutes due a decision they made in Origins? You would have to back and play Origins which is a long game. I am just wondering how that would go.

Answers to Updated Questions:

1) I'd like to find some acknowledgment of the specific decisions that the Warden made at the end of Dragon Age: Origins. I said to Sten that I was going back to Par Vollen, but the closing credits said that the Warden and the companions just "scattered". I'd like to know that he did reach Par Vollen with Sten, and joined the Qun.

2) In both games so far I've made characters that include almost no elements of my personality, so I couldn't say, without playing the opening of Dragon Age III and selecting my race, class and gender, whether my character would be interested with a "mature" LI or not. I'd prefer not, as a gamer, though.

3) I'd like to play as a Qunari. Not Tal Vashoth, a kossith Qunari. If not, a Qunari of any other race will do fine. Other than that...I'd like to alter the plot through my relationships with my characters, both romantic and non-romantic. I'd like to see more significance made of being extremely good friends with a character. And I want to play with friends on a single PS3, in the same room.

I'd personally love to have some of the freedom in equipment back from Origins, not just for the companions armour. I'd love the freedom to take "stupid" choices if I want too, not for mages to have a staff slot, warriors a great weapon slot etc, but to be able to equip anything, or even walk around empty handed. I think a lot of the complaints about lack of RPG elements come from the little things that don't affect the gameplay in any way, but feel better for the player to see. For example, in Origins I'd change my appearance with equipment based on where I was - no benefit, but it felt more satisfying to walk into redcliffe with the champion shield than another one. In DA2, it would have been even more satisfying to be able to unequip staffs from mages, if I'd have this option I'd simply have wandered around not looking like a mage and the Templar reaction would have made sense to me.

My "wants" for Dragon Age 3 really boil down to "More Choice". I'm not even so focussed on plot or storyline choice, as I find Bioware's games sufficiently fufill this need, but in character customization choice.

I would love to see the "Origins" style beginings make a return. I don't feel we need the extent of prologue that we had with DA: Origins but that we need a much more robust Race and class decision. The opening to the game could easily follow a very similar path for any combination with minimal but distinct differences. I think this "compromise" would allow for more game resources (in terms of content) to go towards other things while still allowing players to feel more connected to their character creation choices.

On a more selfish note, I would love to see more "Physical" options for character creation. I'll readily admit that I'm a sucker for customization (in that way). I can spend -hours- tweaking the look of a character so... the more hairstyles, facial hair styles, tattoos, nose shapes, eye shapes, etc the better.

I would love to see classes become more encompassing. What I mean by that is to be allowed to play whatever class (Warrior, Rogue, Mage) and fill whatever role (Healer, Damage Dealer, Tank) I want. I despise feeling forced to use certain character companions based on what class I've chosen. I think that the only difficulty in implementing this would be to find a plausible way for there to be a Warrior or Rogue Healer; though I think a "Alchemist" type rogue could be a start. I wouldn't even be opposed to to this kind of "Cross class pollination" being held off until our characters get to "specialize"; Arcane Warriors as "Mage Tanks" for example.

On a similar note I would love to see out of combat abilities make a return. My particular want for this stems from a dislike of feeling forced to have a Rogue in the party in order to open locks or disarm traps. Force us to make trade-offs (when playing a Warrior or Mage) in order to have access to lockpicking and disarming traps but at least give me the option. I see no reason why my Warrior or Mage couldn't have picked up those skills somehow. Heck.. give Mages a spell that functions as a Disarm Traps / Lockpicking and allow Warriors to "Bash" chests open and shrug off Traps. At the -very- least discontinue tying XP gains to those two actions.

The last thing I'd like to see is a slight variation to the "Rival / Friendship" system. I think it was an improvement over DA: Origins but still fell slightly short. I would prefer the "sliding scale" to give "bonuses" at more intervals and not just at the extremes.
Bioware games, for me, have always induced a greater sense involvement in the story and character relationships. I choose how I react to party members based on the vision I have for my character. Having these bonuses -only- at the extreme ends of the spectrum make a player feel they should answer in a way that that will garner a certain bonus / outcome and not in a way they feel their character would. A sliding scale with several points where a bonus is gained would eliminate that issue.
For example, at a "neutral" or "base" point a particular character may have a bonus of +5 armor and +5 attack. As the character gets further into the "Rival" side, the bonus to attack lessens and the bonus to Armor increases (At certain met intervals) until, at the very extreme, the Character has no bonus to Attack and +10 to Armor. The Friendship side would work the other way; more attack / less armor. This is what I'd prefer at a -very- basic level.

There's more I'd like to see but some of it has already been covered and I think I've got a big enough wall of text up there already. *grins*

I have some general wishes I wouldn't mind voicing...

- Different Species for the Player Character. Preferably, I'd get to choose if I'm gonna be an elf/dwarf/human as in Origins, but to be honest, I really wouldn't mind having a predeveloped character like Hawke foisted upon me once again. But if that's the case, I don't want the PCs of any future Dragon Age games to be all human all the time. Having the PC always be an elf in one of the games, let's say, would give players a look at Thedas from a different perspective and would allow the writing staff/programmers to build a game around an elven viewpoint (instead of in Origins where the difference in player species wasn't that pronounced - there was some, to be sure, but not that much).

- No cameos for the sake of cameos. Leliana is not the only agent the Chantry has. She doesn't have to be the one to show up all the time like she did in Sebastian's quest and Mark of the Assassin. Now, OK, granted, the next game is probably going to take place in Orlais and Leliana is well-versed in its ways, so... I guess I need to find another example because Leliana showing up again would totally make sense.
Let's say Varric. I like Varric. But I wouldn't like to, say, go to some Orlesian noble's fancy party who just so happened to have hired Varric to provide story-telling entertainment for the evening just so the player can go 'Oh, that's Varric. I remember him'.
The only exception to this rule Flemeth. Showing up to be crazy and cryptic at the player and then leaving again to the sound of Mulgrew's charmingly mocking laughter is just the sort of thing she does.

- Atheism. Not everybody is an Andrastian. And not just the Dalish Merrill or the outcast Morrigan. Aveline, too, voiced her rather strong doubts. I appreciated that. I also appreciated getting the opportunity once or twice to voice my own opinion on the matter in Origins. I did not appreciate that Hawke is always Andrastrian no matter what. Her religion did not seem so integral a part of her personality that removing it would make her a totally different person.
Not that I'm saying the PC has to be an atheist. I'd just like having the option.

- 'Landsmeet' scenarios. If it's gonna be Orlais, then there're gonna have to be backroom deals, intrigue, politics, all that good stuff. So yes, I would like at least one, big, important plot point whose outcome depends on how much talking to important people you did (and solving quests for them or having them assassinated or whatever). Resolving the situation with the Arishok in 2 came pretty close too, I must admit.
Talking is important. Maybe just as important as fighting.

- Non-Qunari Qunari. Kossith, I believe they're called? I'd just like to know what they're like when they're not meekly trudging down the road laid out for them by others. Are they all as dour and monosyllabic as Sten, the Arishok and Meraas? Can Kossith who have broken away from the Qun even enjoy themselves? What are Kossith like when they haven't even been raised in the Qun in the first place? All questions I'd like answers to.

- Interior Decorating. Hawke lived in that Kirkwall mansion for, like, what, six years? And not once in all that time did she spend a bit of money on a nice new carpet, a beautiful statue or perhaps a portrait of herself and her SO? Well, that just won't do. Should the player get their own home in a game, then there should be some way of livening the place up a bit if only to press the point home that this is where the PC lives rather than just exists inbetween quests.

- No celebrity cameos for the sake of having celebrity cameos. I don't mind Kate Mulgrew - I quite like her, in fact. She seems to have fun as Flemeth. But she is still Flemeth first. Tallis and that reporter woman seemed to be Felicia Day and Chobot first and their characters second. That's just irritating and immersion-breaking. Quit it.

DA3,look at Fable 3's combat animation please.
Fable 3's combat animation and a slow motion are beautiful I think,I do not want a Skyrim's combat in DA3.
Fable 3's Fighting in slow motion is so beautiful.
Fable 3's combat speed is suitable,Assassin's Creed's combat speed is a little slow I think.
Of course do not look at Fable 3's write and story.
DA3's city needs more lively, there Must be The dynamic weather system.
That's all I think.
Of course add a Riding dragon fights system better.

Played DA2 not to long ago, combat system is good, but it feels like the devs filled the game with countless enemise to make it longer, I dont want to fight 100 shades in an alley everytime I save someone. DA2 became boring as hell after an hour, because the only thing that you did was fight hundreds of hostiles!

In origins you could feel powerfull as hell when you killed darkspawn grunts but it did not happen so often that it became dull.

A litle deeper story with a more challanging task then just become rich and claiming a name for youself. And of course some more varied places ;) After the 30th time in hightown I started to get sick of it^^

Origins was probably my favorite game ever, but there were definitely some problems with it (although, I really didn't mind that everything was tan and drab), and while I didn't love DA2 there was some great stuff there as well (I ended up preferring the voiced protagonist though I was originally against it).

So.... Things I would like to see back:
1. Camp.  It was a great place.  As a matter of fact, all of Fereldan was pretty great.  And Orzammar's there too!
2. DA:O conversations.  Yes, it was awkward for Alistair to declare his love for me in the Deep Roads, but I still prefer that to the "speak to me at the appointed time" attitude of the DA2 characters.
3. Friendship/Rivalry system.  It was way cooler than "Morrigan Disapproves"
4. Party Banter. It was awesome in DA:O, and it was one of the best elements of DA2.  I loved learning about my companions' lives.  I mean it took place over 10 years, I should hope that they have something besides Hawke going on for them.
5. Characters: Shale, Cullen, Morrigan, Flemeth, Isabela, Eamon/Tegan, Dagna, Sten, Aveline, Wade & Herren.  In no particular order.  And even though it's silly for the same people to keep turning up over and over again all across the continent, I support any and all cameos.

Things I don't want to see again.
1. Kirkwall
2. Gifts.  I think there are better ways to create a relationship than "Oh I found this thing and thought of you."  I also don't like it when I somehow miss the crate with the awesome thing in it and as a result lose like half an hour of game content and/or have to restart from like 4 levels ago.
3. Sandal.  He's creepy.
4. Characters defined solely by their stance on an issue (I'm looking at you Fenris and Anders).

New things that would be cool.
1. Everything MH19 said about smarter enemies
2. Different playable races/classes
3. Armor customization.  Make it similar to ME2/ME3.  I love that the look is distinct, but if I want to walk around in purple armor with a grey strip and wear a crazy visor instead of a helmet I can.

Questions I want answered.
1. What happened to Morrigan and the demon baby?
2. Why on Earth did my Warden disappear?
3. What are the Grey Wardens up to anyways?
4. Aren't there some consequences to what I did with the Architect?

10) I'd like for enemies to be smarter. You're a grunt solider, why are you rushing at my powered up team after seeing us massacre your entire group? I don't know about you but I'd be running away. Similarly, if I have a party member whos on the verge of collapse, you'd think the enemy would direct their attention to finishing them off? I mean, obviously for inexperienced players this could cause much arse ache, but it would also make you think twice about how you're playing in game. You know, having to think differently about facing different opponents, because in both games it's pretty much rush in all swords blazing. Perhaps the enemy mage would go after my group healer, or the archers will try stopping my rogue before they can get to close. Just, more aware enemies please. The fun of dealing with tricker opponents is the satifaction when you finally bring them down.

Just adding onto this point. If they implemented something like this, it'd reduce the need for enemies to jump out randomly and off of buildings. Instead of having surprise multiple waves of docile enemies, you'd see who you were facing in front of you and be able to prepare accordingly.

Has anyone had a crack at Snowblind's LOTR:War in the North? While nothing spectacular, I did enjoy the fight elements to the game. When you're playing at the dwarf you get a sense of the weight behind the two-handed axe you're lobbing at an orc's face. And the way the characters move around the battlefield was quite nice, they have a good maneuverability (rolling out of attacks, for example) about them instead of standing there and relaying on their stats to shrug of the damage. Similar to MA3 actually. It's something I'd love to see in the next DA installment.

I'd also really like a higher level of customization for my character. Not just their armor and facial features, their whole body. Height, weight, muscle, chest etc. I personally hate the body shapes in DA2, especially how everyone was more-or-less identical to each other.
