After showing up at the beginning I was hoping to see her somewhere else in the game especially in the final quest. Maybe show up and help defend the blood mages. Would have made for a great final cut scene with Flemeth fighting Meredith.
What was the point of Flemeth in DA2?

It seems that she served a few purposes:
- A means to help Hawke & family escape
- A reason for the Dalish clan to be on Sundermount (and thus link the fates of Merrill and Hawke)
- A voice of foreshadowing for the changes to come
- A way to tie the narrative of DA:O together with DA2 (regarding the Blight, Morrigan, etc) - I suspect (and hope) we'll see her in future games. She seems to operate outside of the mortal spectrum, and has an agenda that, thus far, seems separate from that of the Thedan populace that we have encountered.
As incredible as it would be to see her in the heat and heart of battle, I don't know that she would readily put herself out there like that. She nudges things into place, possibly because she can see a hazy picture of things to come. I think she's too focused on self preservation to take any unnecessary risks at this point.

It also makes what Morrigan hinted at in DAO more explicit. After you kill Flemeth, Morrigan notes that Flemeth isn't really dead. Hawke carries a piece of Flemeth to Sundermount and basically resurrects/regrows her, suggesting she's like a lich. So if nothing else, putting Flemeth in DA2 and shows how the Warden can kill her in DAO without really ridding Thedas of her.
