Is the RetakeME3 movement dead?

I am honestly surprised that it took gamers so long before they did something like this.
Imo this is a good thing. I am still dissapointed that something like this did not happen for MW3.

There's not much to discuss now that we're wating for their ending DLC. There is a tiny chance it will fix the ending, so I guess some of us are being hopeful.

Probably because noone thinks Activisions would change anything. That's why you'll never see a pure retake Capcom movement. They have made it clear their going to ride the DLC train all the way to bankruptcy. While it's an exaggeration, most people have realized the next edition of the game will come out 6 months to 1 year later with all DLC included on disk.

But the retakers have alot guys on FB. So when the DLC arrives most will be back. And since it will likely be another fecal blizzard where Bioware satisfies noone, (if the DLC even goes gold) they will be back an likely harvest more malconents or at least harvest people to replace those lost.
And then some of the retakers will be back here for DA3 to make sure that every fanboi remembers how much was promiesed with ME3 and how little was given. Im not in Retake but I will be here for that fecal festival too. Its going to be too much fun to miss a reprisal of the ME3 fiasco, and that will be precisely how DA3 will be percieved, regardless of its qualities. Because Bioware has alot to prove, and not really enough time and I suspect money, to prove it with DA3.

WE KNOW that the game's ending is bad... Bah, anyone on the "gaming world" knows that.
We don't need to be shout all day about something we already know. With time it gets annoying, now I can barely see Kirrahe or read/see/listen anything related with the phrase "Hold the line"
Also, a few guys were taking this movement into some kind of crazy cult... Glad that this group was pretty small.

By pretty ok, you mean rather passive-aggressive with lots of deflection and taking a route that's basically the least common denominator in response?BellatrixLugosi wrote...

After seeing the way Bioware handled ME3 and the fans reaction's I don't think I can support them anymore.
It's kinda hard to respond correctly to temper tantrums..............esspecially when they are given by people in the 16-40 age range.
Frankly they handled it pretty ok

Hell there even used to be a time that capcom listined to their fans and when they would never do stuff like this.
Alas...

Basically if they screw this up, I am done. The wife and I agree, BioWare/EA gets one last chance if they blow it, than we simply stop buying their products. She loves Dragon Age, but agrees they are screwing everything up.
Is it just me? or do they want to ****** off the fans on purpose?

Bioware fans are RABID. They have a lot of emotion for the RPG's Bioware has produced over the years. ME3, being the end of a love trilogy, carries even more emotional weight. Mishandling this title can push a rabid fan beyond apathy into a rabid hater zone. If the Extended Cut does not deliver, then expect long term damage to the company.
The Retakers don't hate Bioware, but you can only promise so much hope before they give up.

In actuality though, Bioware has forced us into a corner by giving us exactly what we said we didn't want (clarification...I hate that word) and saying that they are listening to fans.
Basically, the investigation extent of any news outlet on this subject will be, "Hrm. People wanted something different with the ending. Look at this, Bioware has some sort of ending type-deal coming out. Wow. That company really listens!"
Bioware has checkmated us. I will wait and hope that at least some of my concerns are addressed, but I honestly don't see how any content that keeps the Star-Child and Pick-a-Color wont be a huge Middle Finger to us.

While the Extended Cut was a great PR move and a great CYA move, it also has to deliver. And it has the potential to deliver, which is why I believe a lot of the Retakers are sitting on the sidelines. As a CYA tactic, this does buy you some time right now, but its going to hurt in the long run if its nothing more than a PR tactic.

Quoted for the truth.
If people think the complaints were bad now, if this EC is a flop, expect torches and pitchforks.

However I think there are those who are waiting for the extended cut. Also there are those who understood where people stood. People where either in the scrap the whole ending and make a new one or make an ending worthy of a trilogy. I for one was for the whole extend the story where it somehow continues on after the ending since it is left so ambiguous but I guess and hope that an ending worthy of a trilogy would be more than a substitute. Those who wanted to change the ending have taken their loses and swore off all future BioWare EA products. Only time will tell if this will really happen but that is the gist of it.

No, there are plenty of people still clinging to that flimsy theory.

The Hold the Wallet group has been deleted, and Bioware is actively locking any thread that members try to start up. Their reasoning is that the group causes dissent. I believe the trolls are worse, but Bioware is in the business to make money so I understand where they are coming from.
People over at www.holdtheline.com are still active, and they are still brainstorming ideas. Though, they want to take this movement further than just ME3.
So not dead, just the vocal/abusive ones are mostly gone.
