If you must choose any guns from other shooters what would those guns be?
This is a purely fantasy thread. So feel free to make over powered suggestions.

(They would be altered to take into account the ammo system but would be essencially the same)

Mine would be:

Phenoix Pistol (Perfect Dark)
The Farsight Sniper Rifle (Perfect Dark)
Plasma Rifle (Fallout 3)
The Mineral Cutter (Starting Weapon from the first Dead Space game)
That Machine Gun with the chainsaw (Gears of War)
Any overpowered assault rifle from halo series.

To be honest, the guns in ME3 rank amongst some of my favourite of all time, or at the very least, are similar enough to other guns I've taken a liking to.

But if I had to bring in a few...

- Overwatch Standard Issue Pulse Rifle (Half Life 2)... kind of like a Phaeston with an ME2 Arc Projector below the barrel
- Needler (Halo)
- Particle Cannon (F.E.A.R. 2)
- Lightsaber (Jedi Outcast)

To be honest, my personal preferred arsenal covers the majority of my fave stuff from other games:

- Particle Rifle (Similar to F.E.A.R. 2 Laser Rifle)
- N7 Hurricane (Similar to Crysis: Warhead AY69 machine pistol)
- M-6 Carnifex (Similar to Half Life 2 .357 Python)
- Black Widow (Similar to Crysis Gauss Rifle)
- M-27 Scimitar (Similar to the Far Cry Jackhammer)

Just glad they made it easy to mod so my Adept can run around with this arsenal of destruction...

The arsenal in ME3 is plenty large enough. I'd prefer better weapon balance amongst the guns we already have.

I'd quite like the Brute Spike gun from Halo. Sort of overlap with Graal I suppose. Otherwise, I'd just want some of the weapons from District 9 (granted we have the Arc Projector) but that gravity gun would be fun. Or maybe that gun that fired gravity grenades that caused things in range to be sucked into each other and then propelled in reverse (can't remember what game that was now..some old Xbox title).

Actually a pistol sized version of the particle rifle would be cool...a sort of Star Trek style phaser I guess. Maybe the prothean sidearm.

In reality I'd settle for some more ammo types like we had in ME. I miss HE rounds on my sniper rifle and polonium and radioactive rounds.

Fair enough. Mass Effect 3 has a fantastic arsenal. Whilst it doesn't have the thousands of guns as Mass Effect 1, it actually has more weapon variety. Each gun is different from the rest. Each one has it's own unique personality and approach to combat.

The point of this threat however isn't a critique of weapon variety in Mass Effect 3. It is simply which weapons from other games or would be fun to use in Mass Effect 3? This isn't really a thread for sincere suggestions. It's just a bit of fun.:wizard:

The weapons from District 9 would be awesome.

yep, me1 might as well have only 4 weapons, all weapons in a class worked the same way.

On topic, the plasma cutter from dead space

If I could pick three, I'd go with the Smart Gun, Force Gun and Auto-9

And they shouldn't be too hard to adapt to ME3 either.

Black Claymore (it would be to Claymore what Black Widow is to Widow)
- 3 shots per clip
- it would do 59.5% of the original Claymore's damage per shot (identical to Black Widow - Widow)
- RoF unchanged
- looks unchanged, only it would be black at all times
- sound effect would remain unchanged

Oh, and maybe Din's Fire. That counts as a weapon, right?

This.

But I'd also settle for a gun that retcons the ending when you pull the trigger.

IIRC Dead Space's flamer was just as bad as ME2's Firestorm.... glad it had a bit of an upgrade in 3.

The whole collection of DLC guns for single-player in one DLC package:

M-55 Argus
AT-12 Raider
M-90 Indra
N7 Valkyrie
Chakram Launcher
Collector Rifle
Geth Plasma SMG
Striker Assault Rifle
Kishock Harpoon Gun
N7 Valiant
N7 Crusader
N7 Hurricane
N7 Eagle

10 of these weapons are available in single-player, but they're all exclusive offers; 2 are PC-only, and 4 are multiplayer-only. The number of exclusive DLC guns in this game is ridiculous, really.

its not that i want more weapons to choose from, its more like i want to pair up certain weapons together.

like taking the paladin, the scorpion, and the talon

but i cant, because i only have one pistol holster, or something like that.

This is a good idea for a SP DLC weapons pack.

An Idea I had was for a 'nostalgia pack' with weapons from ME1, either refitted with thermal clips or using the modified overheat system of the Prothean Particle Rifle.

My random list, to name a few examples:

The Hahne-Kedar M7 Lancer Assault Rifle with a built in sighting system (per the look of the rifle) and the Armax Arsenal Crossfire AR (full auto version of the M15 Vindicator Battle Rifle, but doing less damage).

Maybe the Elanus Risk Control Services Hammer and  HMWSR Master Sniper Rifles. The Batarian State Arms Executioner and Kassa Fabrication Armageddon Shotguns. The Devlon Industries Stinger and Cerberus Skunkworks Harpy Pistols.

Just a representation of the two basic type, with models and manufacturers from ME1. They would obviously have different stats than their close kin in ME3.

The MP guns can be added to Sp via gibbed save editor. If they ask money for it later, the backlash will be immense.

Regarding the above, I hope they stick with creating genuinely new guns rather than adding stuff that is essentially just a re-skin of the existing weapon (or something that is basically an existing weapon with a mod attached). For instance, the M7 you mentioned above is basically the Indra, the Crossfire basically a Phaeston, and the HMWSR basically a Black Widow.

I know you say they need different stats but if that is the case, why not just focus on creating new stuff? One of the single best things about ME3 is its crazy diverse arsenal, I hope that feature is added to by DLC, rather than diluted.

QFT. One of the things I like about how the Biodevs have gone about things is just let the players just mod what they like, including snaffling MP-only kit. Charging for this kind of thing - stuff available in MP DLC for free - would likely not be worth Bioware's while. I'm quite willing to pay sums for stuff like LotSB and From Ashes, but not this.

To be fair, it wouldn't exactly be difficult to wield an arsenal that effectively gave you all three weapons - the Paladin shares many of its traits with semi-auto sniper rifles and the Saber, the Scorpion is largely equivalent to the Falcon in all but its ability to stick its rounds prior to exploding and the talon is little more than a shotty that fits in the pistol slot.

One thing that would be interesting, though, is to allow Shepard to trade in slots for other slots - say, being able to carry two assault rifles at the cost of no shotgun etc.
