Anyone know how to make prectical use of it, or that other explosive rifle (haven't got that in MP, so wouldn't know if it's any good)?

Throw it on either a Human or Turian Soldier and it can do quite a bit of damage.
Though you have to be hosting to avoid the misfire bug.

Falcon + Marksman + Cryo III = Fun.
not sure what u mean by marksman but i'd say: falcon X + ammo mod [10 shots b4 reload] + dmg mode + ANY cryo ammo - aim at groups of enemies [3-4] and shoot through the entire map, the weapon is very precise when you learn how to assess the angle. - biggest problem are lags when ur grenades fly past enemies or dont fly at all, also on gold there is too little ammo and stopping power, however stagger effect is awesome

It has moderately high damage and splash damage, but it's rate of fire is so incredibly slow that its DPS drops heavily. So this means nearly any other weapon is going to kill a single target much faster than direct shots with the Falcon.
The damage in multiplayer is significantly lower than in the Campaign. Ubsurdly lower.

So I just got the Falcon rifle, and.. what am I supposed to use it with? Weighs even more than the revenant, shoots super slow, and takes like 6 body shots to kill a Marauder on silver.. I feel like it does more damage if I shoot at a wall or the floor, and it explodes on nearby enemies, but mostly it just bounces away..
Anyone know how to make prectical use of it, or that other explosive rifle (haven't got that in MP, so wouldn't know if it's any good)?
It's crap now. The gun should really have just been deleted from the game if they wanted to nerf it so bad. If I see anyone in a lobby with it equiped, I vote to kick.

If you do that....it's ok. Not great, but ok. Lately, I've been using the striker for this build. It's kinda the same thing. More of a YMMV thing really as to which is better.

I have problems with guns that fire blanks if your not host, plus being from Australia I get latency,so also a lot of wasted ammo/shots.The Revenant dosnt suffer as much as the Striker/Falcon with lag.

Against a GROUP of enemies you can wipe them all out at least as fast as you could one-by-one with any other gun, WHILE keeping them perpetually staggered so they can't run away or shoot back.
Even a level 1 cryo grenade on it seems to have a 100% freeze rate on lesser targets..
It can be launched over cover to proximity-detonate just above something's head, and if you shoot it right it can detonate behind a guardian's shields...
It is pretty much 100% guarunteed to stagger ANY non-elite enemy and also turns Phantoms into a complete joke (so long as you fire the first shot BEFORE getting stabbed).
How does that not seem like a good gun to you people? So you have to also take along a pistol or smg or use powers to kill single targets. It's not the only gun that has a very specific use, y'know.
Oh, and compared to the new striker: Exact same weight, same projectile behavior.. I think same blast radius but don't quote me on that... the notable differences here are that the Falcon does more damage per individual shot while the Striker gets higher DPS going with sustained fire, IE only when you have the luxury of being out of cover for sustained periods. You'll also be hitting the ammo piles every other minute, using the Striker, whereas the Falcon will usually see you through the entire wave and then some.

It's mostly a crowd control weapon, so indeed its DPS on one single target sucks, but it goes up tremendously if you're able to hit several ennemies with each grenade.
It also has very interesting properties that many other weapons don't have, like applying ammo effect on all targets, bouncing to hit hiding ennemies, taking ennemies out of cover if you fire right over them (this also works to damage guardians by the way). All these things a striker for example cannot do except for applying ammo on several targets but it has smaller AOE.
People who think the falcon sucks just have no idea on how to use it, period. Or they just care about having 200% cooldown all the time.

The only and big downside is that you must host to use it properly. Otherwise half your shots are going waste.

Also, the Falcon is literally great for crowd control. It can stagger groups of enemies of any kind, with the exception of Atlases, Geth Primes, Ravagers, Brutes and Banshees.
