He's also the owner of a company that's still small enough to desperately need to keep his customers. When he gets as big as EA and he's still saying stuff like that let me know.

Everyone is gung-ho for their customers when they need them.

I don't care why he says it.  Only that he does.

If you are not about your customers anymore, and not about the love of the games, then get the hell out.

I agree with this. I think CDPR is a company that is very intune with our hobby and understand and respects their customers. Going to get my copy, full price, tomorrow.

The difference is CDprojekt is up and coming and independent right?

CDProjekt Red is the studio that made the game which is owned by CDProjekt which I believe is owned by a larger company.

And GOG.com provides them a solid income. It is not as big as Steam but thanks to it, CDPR doesn't suffer to rush their games or milking the players to dry.

I think Bioware is far better at character development, story and interactions.

Lol no. Not a single Bioware game I've played comes even close to having a story that I find as complex, intricate, intelligent and mature as TW2 (nor does it have the amount of plotholes you suggest. I can only think of one that is glaring). Nor has any of their games ever had such an impressive cast of characters as that of TW2.
Especially not with ME2 or recent debacles like DA2 and ME3.

Yup.

Thank God they developed the Witcher 2 for the X360,  the game is leaps and bounds better than anything modern day BioWare have released.

Best game I've played since Mass Effect. In saying that, I loved ME2, but 3 was abysmal. It's a very average action game and a terrible RPG, auto dialogue, plot-holes, etc.

It's only redeeming factor was Tuchanka.

Yeah, no "lol indoctrination" contrived BS to prevent Geralt from taking sides, no extremes of having one side be cute and cuddly innocents (Rachni and Geth) and the others being EVULZ FOR THE LULZ (Cerberus, Mercs and Reapers) and no reducing of characters into caricatures like turning Admiral Gerrel into some gun-ho buffoon.

Or TIM being reduced to a James Bond villain.

Actually scratch that, Bond villains are better. TIM is just the Reaper's ****.

Are we still waiting to hear about all those plotholes? I'm really interested to hear what they are.

There are 2 that I can think of that annoy me.

The confrontation between Roche and Iorveth. Gameplay being boring and dull aside, Roche acts like an idiot if he wins. But the worst part is that the entire scene does not make sense if we make a certain choice, unless the Socia'Tael managed to hijack the prison barge during Roche's quest, which I fin doubtful. At the very least it should have been explained and presented better.

The second is the Auckes flashback. It was all great, until we reach the Royal tent and start a massacre, and somehow Henselt and Geralt still fail to hear it. It's mostly a gameplay problem (which I think could have easily been fixed), but still that part was poorly executed.

But those are the only ones I can recall off the top of my head and I would not consider any of them major plotholes, in the sense that they weaken the entire plot or the main story.

EDIT: oh and there's the fact that they still did not address the you know what of TW1's outro. That's annoying.

Choices and consequences is the game's forte.
In addition to consequences being shown (as opposed to told) very well, one choice affects the ending of the first act, makes the second act almost completely different depending on your path, and has major differences in the 3rd Act.

The new intro when you start the game was better then Mass Effect 3's beginning and ending.

It was during an all-out uprising/ pogrom in Flotsam, so I don't think it's unrealistic that Iorveth's unit could take over the barge during the chaos.

It's not a massacre unless you fail the stealth portion, is it?  Then I guess it would be a plot hole if Geralt and Henselt didn't react.

The pogrom didn't necessarily happen. We are not told if the Scoia'Tael managed to hijack the barge *at that time* and free Iorveth and even if they did, what was he doing in the middle of the forest?

The massacre is unavoidable, there is no stealth section when it comes to the royal encampement. The stealth part is in the lower camp.

Not really. The massacre only happens if you help Iorveth in the clearing, it does not happen if you help Roche and Iorveth is imprisoned, hell we get a big celebration thanks to Loredo if Iorveth is captured. So not it makes no sense whatsoever.

Wow...just got done with a huge first session. This world has me sucked in. The attention to detail is extraordinary. This had to be a long developement cycle

Took them four years IIRC. With a budget significantly lower than DA2's.....makes me chuckle everytime.

Hm. I'll have to watch that more closely on my replay.

Iorveth and Roche let each other go for the flimsiest reasons imaginable in those flashbacks. I have a hard time believing Roche couldn't have quickly killed Iorveth before his archers arrived or that Iorveth would even consider sparing him.

I always considered those flashbacks as their convenient stories told in-game, as opposed to what really happened then. Would either Roche or Iorveth admit that they had been unable to defeat their opponent?

Seriously, what can you or anyone alse do about it?

At least you can avoid seeing Iorveth's flashback.
