anyway why do you care so much if liara mate with 100 other poeple? its not like she's your LI in the game...it almost like your trying to convince people who romance liara to choose a different LI. god its people like you that makes meh wanna bash your head on a wall.

Is that a threat?........ You want to bash my head against a wall?

How are you not raging right now? >_> lol.

These are the sort of ppl I'm referring to, in regards to how ppl take a game's romance to a realistic level, you should seek psychiatric help

You seem awful invested in this yourself, MalevoIence.

Just a hint: you should probably not get involved with anyone in real life. There's a chance that you'll die before they do, and then they might fall in love with someone else after that. It's a recipe for disaster, really.

Just made a simple thread, my investment is hardly comparitive to the 30k posts on some Talimancer, Liaramancer threads, just one of many threads I find interesting due to the responses I receive from some of you ppl.  A threat here, Anger and Resentment there, and an occassional person who agrees.

And I'm not saying not get a gf in real life...... sigh, if you can't separate fantasy for real life, better not to say anything at all.  I'm referring to, in regards to a game with comparisons of real life that who would you have a better chance being considered the love of their life?  Someone with a similar lifespan, or someone who lives 1000 years.  Unless you truly believe you'll meet someone who can live that long, I suggest that you never get into a relationship either, atleast with that person.

If an essay is a couple paragraphs I impulsively wrote about and  the "no ones" you speak of are ppl like yourself, along with the couple dozen or so ppl who replied to this thread then, yes, suppose you're right.

I think this whole situation might be more cruel to her than it is to Shepard.
But you never know what Shepard is capable of, I mean with all those reaper implants in his/her body, maybe aging won't be that big of a deal.

Im not really sure there was a point to this thread. Anyone romancing Liara was well aware of the lifespan issues beforehand. Also if you truly love someone you would want them to be happy after your gone.

Now in terms of Liara's character its not a long shot to surmise that she may not be with anyone else, Shepard is what 30? 40? with his cybernetics its not out of the question that shepard could live for another 200+ years which would put her near the matron stage, they have said on numerous occasions that they want to have kids and with Liara working as the shadow broker, its easy to see Liara filling her remaining days with her children and work; after all her mother did the same thing.

Is there any real point to half  these threads?  Yet they have over 3k replies.  This is a simple discussion, if it was any other thread not involving anti Asari-Liara relationships in any way you wouldn't say a damn thing

Maybe Liara's next partner will be an asari so she wouldn't have to have lots of other relationships.

Liara's next partner is the child created from the relation between her and Shepard. In that way the cycle is not broken and everyone can be happy forever.

At the end of the day, it all depends of your headcanon, and since nothing will be able to contradict it,you're covered

In my headcanon Shepard lives another 170 years and manages to give 9 daughters to Liara, so that's not bad company at all

Rude Awakening for some, Goku16 up there wanted to bash my head in lol, some simply overlook the fact and didn't put any thought beyond, she is blue in choosing a love interest, yet they fight and fight on how they would never cheat on her as if this was a real relationship, rude awakening in having certain of you think about it a little longer.

Lets put it this in a comedic way.  You see a really goodlooking blonde girl, there is a chance that she is dumb as a stump and you know it, but you look passed it because she's attractive.  Then after a week you realize you'd probably have more stimulating conversations with a piece of driftwood.  You shouldn't be surprised, but you are.  Same thing here... except, don't take it as seriously, it's a game

I'm not a Liara fan, but I would think of it this way. Shepard will more than likely not be her last. He/she certainly will be Liara's favorite that no one else will ever stack up to.

I think you're reading into the discussion a lot more than is actually there. Sure, people are interested and they're emotionally invested in the characters of the ME series, and so they can be passionate in making their points.. but this does NOT mean they think it's reality, this does NOT mean that they have anger and resentment in discussing this. It just means that they're having fun talking about this. Probably just as much to the point, the ideas that are being talked about, are ones that for the most part are relevant to real-life relationships, and how people deal with and understand them. In that context, one can learn something.

As to Liara, she doesn't seem to me like the sort of person who is just going to casually sleep with large numbers of partners beyond Shep.. if she was, she'd have been involved with many before she even met him. No, if anything, she's very very choosy about it, and not even especially interested in sex; she's doing more important things that truly matter (in the context of the ME universe)... and so, if she outlives Shep.. and that's *if*.. I think it'd take someone pretty unusual to claim her interest.

Lastly, people don't choose who they fall in love, it just happens. Things like age and living circumstances, and race don't even influence it... if you're in love, you're in love, even if it's with someone really inconvenient... or with issues like them likely outliving you.

Anyway, barring dying from combat, I doubt Liara will outlive Shep. I'd expect human medical advances in the ME universe, with the change that meeting the citadel races brings, to greatly increase human lifespan, to the extent that millenia-long human lifespans will be commonplace.

Fact you're saying I can learn something from this shows, you're putting a bit too much emphasis on it.  All I take into account is maybe medical advancements will allow Shepard to live a long life with Liara, saying that will be so is hopeful thinking.  I'm giving stated facts as they are relevant for the the time.  Liara has a 1000 yr lifespan, Shepard has a 150 yr lifespan, can cross your fingers all you want.

It may be hopeful thinking in that the ME devs may not choose to do so, may choose to have Shep die at 150 or thereabouts. That might very well be, especially considering that in RL, people in 21xx (or even in 2050) will have nearly unlimited lifespans, but that's a tangent we probably shouldn't take this thread to, lest it be locked..... though in the Synthesis ending, chances are everyone is immortal anyway, just like the Geth are, so there's that too.

As for Liara, I just don't think she's going to act like you think she's going to act. It's totally a matter of opinion however, neither I nor you can know the right answer, and we'll only find out if Bioware chooses to tell us in the ending DLC or some future content.

I think that knowing that you made a difference to someone's life, and that they will remember you long after you are gone, is the greatest testament to human/asari love.

As long as Liara occasionally dusts off the Shep holovids and gets misty-eyed over the memories, then I can tolerate the thought of her getting someone new after Shep dies.

My femShep who romanced Liara and fights to give her and her children (reguardless if they're with her or not) a future. That to me at least, is Shepard's ultimate gift to Liara. A future where she can have children (if she chooses too) and live a good life.

Btw you keep on living inside her, as part of her mind. That's what melding in a sexual way means too.
