The ironical part here is that people are doing it on KOTOR since ME3, you know, BECAUSE OF ME3.

I remember reading that quote and thinking, damn, MMOs are bad for personal productivity but I'd probably at least check it out. I mean, it's Bioware, it wouldn't like an ordinary MMO, there'd be choice and stuff. Sweet Zeus, I love Bioware. I'm probably going to pre-order ME3 and buy a hoodie.

That was a better time.

Hudson will never escape the wrath of the internet.

A far, far worse punishment than anything I can think of.

People will NEVER forget this.

Perhaps the universe is safe in his head or something.

I'd LOVE to pick his brain for quotes.

I get the feeling he won't be doing an Interviews for a LONG, LONG time.

I don't know about you but I'll never be able to make myself forget the sadness and disappointment I felt when I first beat Mass Effect 3.

*EDIT*
I would consider an MMO ME if *3* things happened:

1) If the EC is satisfactory to me.

2) It happened after the Reaper events, because of obvious reasons.

3) It does not come with a subscription marketing strategy and instead has a cash store for cosmetics or if they feel the need to some 50% bonus xp packs.

Since I know this will be made by EA and the latter is more likely to have the sub-model and not the sub-free GW1 and 2 style model, I will most likely pass.  I'm completely against subscriptions for MMOs.  I feel I have better things to spend money on instead of wasting $100+ for one game for a year after buying it at the $60 price tag.  I'm just not convinced.

One of the things I would really, truly like to know is exactly when in development the quote in the OP stopped being the end they were planning. Because it honestly flummoxes me that they could talk so much about the endings we clearly wanted, and THEY clearly were planning, and then deliver what we actually got.

People (EA) want to see an MMO where we can gain (drain) money from the players after they have bought the game (monthly). Where's my KOTOR 3, where Revan is dreaming and it was put inside his head by the Jedi who remove his memory. You have a how to write a story guide that has been used for every game don't you?

Well that sucks, I once loved Bioware and their games, couldn't care less for EA though.

if mass effect becomes an MMO it will have it's soul sucked out of it I as for ME 4 well I'll just say that I loved the ME universe all the people in it and I loved the character of shepherd and the way we got to play shepherd and affect the ME universe only served to pull me further into the whole thing. But when all of that was taken from me in the last ten minuets of the game and replaced with star child.well it makes me wery to get invested in another ME saga of any kind.

Can't imagine they're seriously considering doing this anymore. Didn't KOTOR cost them something like 300 million to make? How long before their profits level out and they get a return on that insanely high investment? You could have made Avatar for that much (minus the 150 odd million they spent on advertising) but something tells me they're not going to make a billions off a MMO. That's what they get for not hiring James Cameron.

Maybe this is why he hasn't said much since the game came out.  He spent too long reading fan feedback and completely lost his marbles.  Now he's strapped to a bed somewhere while his mind has drifted off to a wonderful fantasy land where the ending was well received and everything was roses and sunshine, like Jonathan Pryce's character at the end of Brazil.

They might not be considering an MMO, but they may be reconsidering making a standalone multiplayer game.  Let that thought chill your spine.

I wouldn't go nearly that far, but I think it's safe to say the man won't be getting any Christmas (or Hanukkah, or whatever) presents from me this year.  Or any year.

I believe any plans of a Mass Effect MMO are definitely on hold (if there was any). But you can bet the spit bucket a multiplayer focused version of Mass Effect is in EA's future plans. I could even argue the sh*t we got under the guise of ME3 is that "standalone multiplayer game" from a technical point of view.

I'd bet a years salary that the "spectre pack" type micro transactions will be in every type of EA game for the conceivable future. It's hard as hell to find someone on BF3 (xbox) that didn't pay there way to unlock all the gear/weapons/vehicle perks now. I wouldn't be surprised if EA made back all the advertising dollars spent on ME3 from veteran spectre packs alone.
