I will say that this backs up the statement from Patrick Weekes that (for whatever reason) they did not anticipate us interpreting the outcome of the ending scenes the way we did.

While a pretty big foresight failure, it at least gives me hope for Extended Cut fixing these issues

What is there to interpret about "....it will also destroy the mass relays"? That's what fragments galactic civilization and destroys what we wanted to save.

I suspect the ending was a late change, for whatever reason.

The thing is, he knew what we wanted. "Save the universe so that you can live in it". Even if not with Shepard, that would have been great! So....what the hell happened?

The Mass Relays are not required for a MMO to work.

I'm talking about the interpretation that the Relay destruction in the endings destroyed the terrestrial worlds in their solar systems.

HOWEVER, I did realize something else:

There is no good way to reconcile the difference between Destroy/Synthesis/Control if there was a post-ME3 MMO... That's the biggest problem. Of course, the Indoctrination Theory, being the Swiss Army Plotknife it is, could foreseeably resolve this. :wizard:

Another example of Bioware not living up to their promises. What's more it's like Hudson and the rest are sticking their collective fingers in their ears and saying "I can't hear you!" They don't want to be confused by the facts of their previous statements after all they have "artistic intregity" to consider. What a load of crap.

Ugh, I just don't like MMOs. Problem is, every time a MMORPG is born, we've lost another potential great offline RPG. I'd much rather a well structured offline RPG with a great story that has a well defined beginning, middle and end. I'm in it for the story, not the grind.

That said I do want to see more of the Mass Effect universe, but not one moment before they've fixed the ending of ME3.

Yeah it would be awesome to see a Fallout/Skyrim style like open world Mass Effect universe.

I can't decide whether that is so funny its brightened up my day or so sad it's depressing. Although as I will say that as I sat, gobsmacked by the actions of my Shep at the end of ME3, all I could think of was how my SWTOR smuggler and his wookie would have saved the world with so much more style and not killing themselves or entire planets/galaxies in the process.

I haven't touched the ME3 single player since and I certainly wouldn't touch a ME MMO given what they did to the single player story. They should've thought of that before they phoned in that POS ending.

If Synthesis was not an option, I could see an MMO still working. I take my hope from the statements made in that Patrick Weekes interview that stated that the relays overloaded (which didn't cause the type of explosion seen in Arrival), everyone can still make do with FTL (it would just take longer), and that the galactic races can eventually build their own mass relays.

Had control and destroy been the only options, the Reapers will either be destroyed or subjugated, leaving organic independence intact. However, synthesis negates all of that. Apparently, since organics and synthetics are now one, there is no need for conflict, organic/synthetic independence is gone, and all questions have been answered. Gah, it just pains me to write that since it's so illogical! I'm hoping that the EC will reveal that Synthesis is the wrong choice... but anyway, it creates too much variability for a future MMO to be feasible.

Man whatever. As long as the MMO is good I don't give a ****.

If gameplay was just like ME1, with the same leveling system, and the same ammount of skill options for a character I would find it interesting.

Frankly if they are going to do this I hope its well done, original, and not a WoW clone. Lord knows we have enough of those already. I want to see something new, or alteast fairly new.

It was rushed. Bad decisions were made in haste. As far as I can tell, EA thinks gamers are too stupid to notice.

^-  That... OMG no MMO, or any other "game genre" for Mass Effect.  Just let it die now.   I'd love move games with a new protagonist and crew like ME but not a MMO, not a non-story driven FPS, not a RTS.

It seems every time an RPG gets popular there's always people asking for an MMO. The fact the notion is even being entertained makes me thoroughly depressed. No doubt these were all the people that clamoured for a kotor mmo instead of the third installment. The same people now whining about it constantly.

EA will charge you a micro transaction for ammo for your weapon during a boss fight. The first and second boss fights will be free. It's to get to the third and fourth areas that will cost you microtransactions for ammo. And from then on any upgrades to your weapons and armor will cost micro transactions, and must be purchased from EA directly. No trading with other players will be allowed because that will wreck the EA economy. Weapon drops and item drops will have your name attached and will be totally inappropriate for your class so you will have to sell them for 1/10th the value. There will be appropriate ones that will be rare and excellent and will happen about one in 20 boss drops, just to keep you coming back for more. You can upgrade your crafting skills by spending time on your iPad playing online at work instead of doing your job.

I remember that. I have that issue, and I remember being all enthusiastic when I read that.

This is the only thing that can really describe my feelings. It also sums up how I'd feel if I found myself in a Mass Effect MMO without any Mass Relays or a Citadel.

Edit: And hah! Who'd'a guessed the top comment for that video is regarding the ME3 ending?

 Oh my god.

I didn't realise this was real.  I'm so confused.  What the hell is going on?

So one minute Casey wants to make an MMO with the citadel and mass relays, then he suddenly decides to blow them all up in all three endings?

I'm sorry Bioware, I love you guys but seriously, have you lost your mind?

I'm a patient man, but this is driving me insane

Last year. Take it with a grain of salt then. Look how much ME3 changed in a year compared to what they said they were going to do!
