They keep saying "OMG you guys have no idea the amount of cool stuff coming your way." regarding Mass Effect 3 DLC.

it's called advertising

Plus at this point anything that comes out of Jessica Merizan's mouth or keyboard, whatever, I basically treat as a super condescending PR girl jumping up and down telling you how awesome everything is and deflecting all the enormous issues while asking you inane questions while spamming emoticons all over the place.

Example:

Fan: Bioware' endings and treatment of me as a fan has crushed my soul and ruined Mass Effect for me.

Jessica Merizan: Thanks for the feedback!!!:D Sorry to hear that,:o:o what was your favorite moment in mass Effect!?:o:O

lol ok, I overdid it with the emoticons, but you get the point, which is don't believe any of the crap they're trying to shovel our way at the moment, because it's all just spin. There are several significant technical and game quality issues that they are completely ignoring, and fans they are actively mistreating, while all the while aggressively campaigning as if ME3 were the next messiah.

P.S.- Not to mention that if they wanted us to get excited about upcoming DLC they should have focused on releasing a complete game that wasn't rushed, ruining the entire ME series in the process.

Oh please, we're not after people, who are essentially noncombatants in this global flamewar, for doing their job now are we?

Yes you have a right to be suspicious,
Yes you have a right to be mad at EA advertising for leading you on pre-release,
Yes you have a right to be mad at Hudson and co. for having the imagination and innovation of a wheely bin, as well as having litterally no integrity. (despite their claims otherwise)
But at no point should you, I... WE get mad at PR for doing their job.

For the record I'm not getting at you personally, but the community in general. I'm afraid you just happen to be the unfortionate scapegoat.

My only guess is that it's to try and tide us over till the EC is released. I'd prefer them to say nothing so i'm not so built up to what is probably still going to disappoint me.

A lot of it sounds very similar to what we got right before and right after the game was released. We all know how that worked out.

Agreed, but I wish they would give us some hints so we aren't reduced to rumors from  4 chan

BW told us yesterday that the EC DLC is still with the writers and storyboard artists.  It's still early and changes can still happen.

I'm hoping that they'll see some of the great ideas posted here and use them (like the two in my sig) or even a version of IT.

They already built me up once, only to knock me down hard!! Ill wait for the Extended Cut to speak for itself. IF Bioware comes thru my patronage continues. If it fails then I move on.Plenty of devs out there and this debacle is a lesson. I wont be preordering for the forseeable future.

Someone needs to ask "which writers".

Srsly, it's the most important question atm.

True true...  I believe that the current ending was serect, rushed and not peer reviewed per that rumor, it's the only explianation that fits of how the ending is such a train-wreck compared to the rest of ME3.

I will have to get more later.

Its called baiting and its not nice.  Eventually you get desensitized to it and ignore them.

If its so cool you can't tell us about it, don't tell us about any of it - like it is cool..

Of course, we now have evidence of what Bioware thinks is great cool stuff...

Assume any and all "it's gonna be amazing" PR talk to be of same nature as above picture.

If it was so cool why wasn't it in the game? They wouldn't be releasing this EC if we liked the ending would they? they are just toying with are emotions. >.<

It's either that or they purposely released an unfinished product. Pick your poison.

Well actually, there is a term in the industry.  Known shippable.  Its been around at least 12 years and probably before that.

Umm... thanks? Why do they keep repeating that? I've heard it from Mike Gamble a few times and now Jessica Merizan. I understand being excited about upcoming DLC but to tell us its cool without us having played it is a little presumptive, no? I suppose though its in the same way that the ending would be "deep."

LMAO!:o

I feel like I've heard this before from these two people. They said the same thing pre-launch and look how that turned out. Now they have this EC on the way, and to be honest, I'm confussed to why they believe this is going to save ME3?

Bioware has nuked the plot. There is no way to make this RGB ending good. No amount of false info tweets are going to get people on your side. Why? Because, Mike Gamble has mislead fans time and time again. I really don't think they get the fact that without trust people will not believe what you say.

I believe that they believe they have made a great product. As such I don't think they are lying, but there is the old addage of repeat a lie long enough and loud enough and people might begin to think it is the truth.

trying to reel in some folks....it'll get some excited, it'll make some go 'meh, we'll see after the EC".....no point in getting excited or dismayed about anything they say at this point, as there's so much evidence that points to the fact that you really need to wait and see what they produce...

They'll have a mission where you have to rescue a whole colony from the Reapers. After you're done fighting through 3 hours of gameplay, you'll see a 10-second cut scene where a boy says "hey thanks, yo" and then you fly of in the shuttle.

AKA PR spin. On a serious note I hope they are serious and it has some amazing stuff in this otherwise it won't go over well. I'm wondering if they had something in mind from the time it came out knowing they didn't get a chance to fit it all in the first time.

Obvious troll is obvious  :P

Did they go to some grade school to learn how to do Marketing?

They are commiting every social network marketing sin around.

1. Pick what kind of Titter account you want to have and stick to it. Its either Business or Personal, not both.
If you don't do this, then people will be confused, and then, you end up getting mad because people are flaming your personal account.

2. Don't post something you can't eventually link to. In Social Network marketing timing is everything. When to post, who will see the post for maxium effect, etc. If your leading up to link to something that you want to market, have a time that you throw up a link and stick to it.

It isn't helpful to keep leading people on with things you can't talk about. Its like this: I have a candy bar. You want this candy bar, so I'm going to tell you about it without showing it to you. The end result is you get mad at me for teasing you about this candy bar, and you end up no longer interested.

That's the problem isn't it? Bioware (in particular, Mr. Hudson) was extremely enthusiastic about the last chapter of the franchise prior to its release as well.

It's not really about what they believe. It's about what we'll decide. Therefore whatever excitement Ms. Merizan is feeling is irrelevant. I'm sure she was very excited about the original ending as well, back before the fans got their hands on it.

If anything, their excitement seems to be inversely proportional to our disgust. Therefore she should be less excited. In fact she should state that she HATES the DLC and that it is destroying Bioware's artistic integrity.:lol::lol:

Probably just multiplayer maps/skins. Remember their "big" announcement at PAX? We didn't even get to use those new weapons in SP. They've completely lost touch.

they say at this point.

Am I doing this right?

This sums my feelings up.

I want to like Bioware but all these shenannigans, well, I don't know what thought process brought it upon them to go in this direction but I'd need some sort of assurance that it won't again before I'll be anything but distrustful...with a smidgen of hope for old times sake.

I loathe whomever belived, and anyone still believing, that telling ME what kind of story is best for me.
