They keep saying "OMG you guys have no idea the amount of cool stuff coming your way." regarding Mass Effect 3 DLC.

Why are they repeating that? To keep up the interest, of course.
After all, they can't say "Oh guys we have some medicore, mildly boring stuff coming" :)

Why can't they just keep their mouth shut until they have a statement ready? They keep their mouth shut on everything else, you think it would be easy. :?

LOL! QFT. Seriously. Don't tell me you bought me the best Christmas present ever in July, when you and I both know you got me a fugly sweater for my birthday (that you said I'd love and that it would actually fit me when it didn't) two months ago. Just...don't say anything and let it speak for itself when the time comes, you liar, liar pants on fire.
:P

Well then, when people flame her about a game on her personal twitter account, she can only blame herself. Why? Because she broke the rules of Social Media Marketing.

The rule is, personal account are personal and business account are for business.  Its not like she couldn't have two accounts.

The thing is that it is personal opinion it is not marketing. I have said a few things about work in my time which is extremly vague for a reason.

It is a person opinion that is not tied into the corporate. We cannot take everything stated in a tweet as serious and word from the company. She can say something like that if she wants it's her personal account she did not give detailed information about what is coming, just this looks cool!

If you take that as she said it looks cool and that means she deserves to get flamed cause I did not like it then there is a larger issue at hand.

Okay. I've looked over the various messages coming out of BW/EA and it vaguely reminds me of the Japan Culture Agencie's regular feed out on Facebook: Chipper to the point of casuing Dialysis and nearing the "Happiness is Mandatory" level of smile I've seen working at some companies.

Here's the short form in PlainSpeak, and not MarketroidSpeak:

Bioware and EA are scared.

That's right.

Scared that they've really botched this one. Given the crap state of the economy and the massive layoffs BW/EA just had, they cannot afford to kill a major money maker for them. So they are working hard to make up for the...oversight that they made, so give them a chance

A lot of the team are under pressure right now I'm going to guess, So I'm willing to cut thema bit of slack

I think they were in denial at first just like us but now **** has gotten real and everybody is scrambling to make sense of this situation.

A pretty interesting analysis.

They just want to get us all pumped up.

Thing is most of us are still, distrustful, angry, bitter, sad, resentful, suspicious or bored.

Maybe if these stupid teasing had come after a great and universally beloved end to a perfect franchise then we'd be right there going 'what do you think it means? Is it Omega!!! Oh my god its going to be so awesome!!!"

But coming after the ending, fans are ready for more of the same.

And Bioware STILL doesn't get that.

You know what would be very helpful. Very good to instill trust and make it harder to hate BW?

Post some day to day footage of BW working on the EC DLC. Show us the people working hard for us. Give little interviews about what each person does. Give us actually facts (not the whole thing, just small pieces) of what's in the EC DLC.

Honesty and clarity will work wonders, not vague hype and general statements.

They could have a live stream of the office working on it and I'm 99% sure people would still complain.
Make that 100%.

I think you're wrong.

Everytime someone has stepped in to offer us information or just talk with us personally, they've been well received.  Every time.

People just wanted to talk to someone about the ending and the game.  Now things may be different after BE spent a month ignoring and deflecting fans, but most of us still relish a chance to interact in some way with BW.

Putting faces on a faceless company never hurts either.  Look how many people rush to defend Jessica Merizan after someone complains about her teasing tweets.  Think they'd do that for a bot?

And even if we complain, that just means we're still invested.

By running silent, Bioware encourages us to look elsewhere for entertainment and information.  People will invariably run to other devs and other games.

Outside of Lair of the Shadow Broker Bioware's DLC has been pretty unspectacular. So why should I even care what they are peddling?

Or was it...? From the stargazer scene we know they were about to go back in space, and there is that thing called the Citadel which would indeed look like a "golden city".

Whether or not the taint is part of Reaper technology I'm not too sure. Personally I think it's more likely that the stranded races bio-engineered themselves into something new (especially the Quarians and Turians) so that they can survive on war-torn Earth.

And the Dwarves of Dragon Age... Are Volus!

Maybe when we see it, we'll be as excited as she is.

There's a lot of time until we're seeing what she is, though.

I'm fine with them being excited about stuff to come. I'm fine with them not being able to leak much info, but I would like them to at least say that much of that stuff to come is single player story stuff, and not exciting omgawesome mplay maps, mplay characters and mplay weapon packs.

Honestly all questions about the ending aside I'd just be happy with better quest tracking and journal updating.  There's an AngryJoe review on youtube that sums up the difficulty of keeping track of your quests pretty well.

Maybe not nearly as exciting as OMG NEW CONTENT SHINY!!11, but it seems like something that would be easy to do.

I also wonder if BW gets the balance between "trying to maintain enthusiasm and hope" and "poking an angry bear with a stick". Trying for one result often seems to produce the other. I think the tweets and comments are meant to be positive, but I think this balance isn't something that BW is cognizant of 100% of the time. Chalk that up to their enthusiasm to share what little info they can, I guess...
