I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I have rescued 2 of my allies from their islands and have traveled to the third to free my last. For some reason, I can't reach him because once I get away from the portal, I run/walk in place.  Is there something I'm missing or is this a technical thing?  I had no problems getting to my other two allies.
