I think they did a fair job of giving a story to each class in SWTOR, but I'm not sure it would be very good with Mass Effect. I love the setting but I don't think it would translate well.
[POLL] Would you want/play a Mass Effect MMORPG?

if you'd consider or would want to play a Mass Effect MMO, go and try playing SWTOR for a few weeks. It's kind of silly how much ideas and concepts they took from ME and DA then fleshed out storylines for a Star Wars MMO. I tried it and well, I stayed subscribed for a little over a month and a half after release date for it.

If you think I lack vision then fair enough. I believe that some IP should have a beginning and end.
Yeah you are right, I thought about that after I wrote it.
This one thinks that ending Mass Effect with respect is the best thing for Bioware.

No...
I wanted KOTOR 3 not The Old Republic..
this obsession with making everything MMO's is getting out of hand.
ME is a single player RPG enough with wasting resources on MP.....

No. For one thing, TOR was a big disappointment for me. Hallway worlds, typically generic MMO quests (and "story" was their big selling point), disappointing performance despite my over-qualified rig, dead-feeling environments, etc.
Combine that with the fact that the Mass Effect universe has lost a lot of luster for me, and I have no interest in a ME MMO.

No more money for BW - fix the bloody game first.

Part of me would have loved an MEMMO. (ha, memo) The galaxy was going to need help rebuilding after the Reaper War. It would have been cool to interact with the Blue Suns and Cerberus from the standpoint of someone other than Shepard. At the same time, I'm loathe to place the requisite canon on Mass Effect that we would need going into an MMO. And since the galaxy no longer exists, I don;t want it just because I don't want another Mass Effect. I don;t want Datapad or Infiltrator. Not when everything can only amount to a galactic dark age that was intended to take millenia to overcome.

There would be two things wrong with a Mass Effect MMO. First it would have the EA logo on the box and after ToR would you trust ANY MMO created by EA/BW?
Second you would only have a choice of three end games and they would all suck.

KOTOR III is not up to BW, its up to Lucas Arts as they own all rights to the star wars universe. and i remember reading somewhere that they dont want a KOTOR III.johnny532 wrote...
No, I have no interest in MMORPGs and never will. I hope they never make a ME MMORPG and abandon SWTOR and give us KOTOR III.
Now not making a third game in such a popular series makes about as much sense as the Greedo/Han shooting first thing... Maybe George Lucas is indoctrinated...
Actually there were two original Dev teams one for SWTOR and another for KOTOR III, someone told Lucas Arts that they believed they could create a story driven MMORPG that would rival KOTOR, not long after that KOTOR III was scrapped, at least that is what I heard and if there is truth to that then BioWare played a far bigger part in the destruction of the Knights of the Old Republic trilogy then you suspect. The fallout over that was not minor and Lucas Arts wanted the Force Unleashed to have RPG elements to draw those fans back to the SW Universe, the game was a hit with action gamers and SW fanatics but not with the lost RPG fans, the Force Unleashed II was suppose incorporate RPG elements as well and the dev team again fell short. And just recently George Lucas blasted the fans but a lot of what they're upset about has been driven by those he has in charge of other divisions...he should have realized this.

Hell no, considering how they messed up ME3, how much of a joke their existing MMO is, and the fact that EA will be involved in it, there just is no chance it would be worth playing.

If I could be the EP on that project, Yes, I know I could do a damn good job. I have been cooking up ideas for a Space Opera MMO for the better part of 10 years, and having it in the Mass Effect universe since the first one came out.
Otherwise no, because I don't trust anyone else to do it right.

I didn't vote only because the option I would vote for was not included.
Absolutely not! If they even think about making ME into an MMO I will never buy a BioWare, nor EA game ever again!
That's what I would have voted for. The same goes for Fallout. If Bethesda makes a Fallout MMO I will never buy another Bethesda game, EVER!

I don't really play MMORPGs.
I'm not too sure how fun an ME one would be. Lets say there is a mission on Tuchanka. Since all the Mass Relays have blown up, how many decades would you have to loiter on a starship before your party got there?

let me ask you this, why should i? there is nothing after ME3, they went out of their way to show that, and with that end nothing i do has any real meaning if the set it before hand. so again why should i like the thought of a MMO or any other ME game? there is no point to it now.

i would play me based mmo but only if there were some way to keep away the wow players who would inevitably turn the citadel into a Gold begging cyberfest
what ruins 90% of all mmo's are players who dont take the game seriously or that take it too seriously EG noobs and those japanese item farming clans

They already have a star wars MMO just out. Building an MME game would essentially be shooting themselves in the foot.
After the fan reaction to ME3, I foresee Bioware going back to the drawing board for a while and coming up with a less toxic new franchise. ME3 is likely the last ME game we'll see for a long, long while.
